  1. Norwich are back on national radio for their match against West Brom on Sunday. If you can stand listening to it, talkSPORT has live commentary as their Sunday lunchtime kick-off.http://www.talksport.co.uk/live-premier-league-football-commentary-on-talksportCouple of other things I noted about the date the match lies on. Its 10 years since 9/11 (you all knew that) and its also a year since the box that BBC Norfolk sit in was renamed as the Roy Waller Commentary Box.Enjoy the game
  2. For anyone who will be nowhere near Norfolk or can''t use the Canaries Player..BBC5live has commentary of Chelsea vs Norwich City at Stamford Bridge. It''ll be a good excuse to see what the nationals and the ''experts'' think of our chances of staying in the Premhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b013wn96(If you don''t know already - 693 or 909 on medium wave is the frequency)
  3. Around this time last year, a well loved Norfolk character had been using a local hospitalLess than 24 hours later, it was revealed that Roy Waller had passed away at the age of 69I was hoping that by reading this thread, you could spare a thought for those left behind (Sylvie, his family, friends and colleagues), and post your own belated tribute to the man we all know as the ''Voice of Carrow Road''Roy Waller. 1941 - 6 July 2010
  4. Its not just the price Id be saving. What about all the heartbreak if we would lose the final? We would be so close to prem footy and have it nicked from us
  5. Good news for Russell and all that... I just get the feeling that if he waits a while, he might be good enough for an England call-up one day. If he does play in the squad he might come to regret it.By the way take a look at this (http://norwich.vitalfootball.co.uk/sitepage.asp?a=242273). It takes a look at if Russell should wait a while before going and playing for Scotland. It''s quite good (although I am bias, I did write it)

  7. I actually think Worthington did alright as a manager. As it was our first year back in the Prem, many were expecting us to go straight back down. The only reason we had those awful five years is because we had a board that got rid of Worthington, the only person then that could take us back into the Prem. It then swapped and changed our management staff, looking for the next Worthington, bringing no stability to the club. The board then made a major error and never recovered
  8. I would love Blackpool to stay up. Hearing Ian Holloway''s post-match interviews are a laugh
  9. There are soooo may to choose from this year, 83 in fact. But my personal GotS contenders on a month-by-month basis are;Saturday 14th August, Holt (A) vs Scunthorpe UnitedSubstitute Simon Lappin''s cross was turned in with a superb diving header from the edge of the penalty area, in stoppage time, from Grant Holt to win the first three points of the campaignTuesday 28th September, Hoolahan (H) vs Leicester CityWes Hoolahan restored Norwich''s two goal advantage with a cracking half-volley from outside the area, which flew straight into the top right-hand corner of the net (Adam Drury''s goal in the same match deserves a mention, just for being his first since January 2005 vs Middlesborough)Saturday 2nd October, Jackson (A) vs Bristol CityJohn Ruddy''s clearance was pounced upon by Simeon Jackson, who used his pace to run clear of defenders and slip the ball under David ''Calamity'' James. Little did we know that would be his last for almost six monthsSaturday 6th November, Crofts (H) vs BurnleyNorwich maintained their ''never losing two games back-to-back under Paul Lambert'' run with Andrew Crofts'' 20 yard drive that Burnley''s goalkeeper had no chance of getting to. There were calls of handball as Crofts controlled the ball, but the referee was having none of itSunday 28th November, Holt (H) x3 vs Ipswich TownHow could I not mention THAT hat-trick against Ipswich? Grant Holt ran the show that day. None of the goals on their own would win GotS, but the hat-trick is surely a contender for moment of the season. A mention for Wes Hoolahan for his side-kick performance, grabbing a goal in the processTuesday 28th December, Hoolahan (H) vs Sheff UtdWith the score at 3-2, Sheff Utd could have leveled things if ex-Canary loanee scored in stoppage time. Instead John Ruddy made the save and the clearance lead to a counter-attack, with Grant Holt putting a low cross into the area for Wes Hoolahan to tap in for his second half hat-trick. From one end to the other, not only did Norwich prevent dropped points, they cemented the winSaturday 15th January, R Martin (H) vs Cardiff CityYet again Norwich were rescued with a stoppage time goal when Adam Drury''s cross from the left was diverted into the path of Russell Martin, who smashed in his third goal of the campaign from a tight angle. How important that goal proved to be by the end of the seasonSaturday 12the February, Holt (H) vs ReadingThis goal came right from the boardroom, and symbolized everything about the new Norwich City, everybody working together for the same cause. A clearance from a Reading player was caught by David McNally in the home director''s box, thrown down to Paul Lambert on the touchline and chucked to a player in a yellow and green shirt of the throw-in. From that throw, David Fox back-heeled to ball to Andrew Crofts, who put a low ball towards the six-yard box. Aaron Wilbraham couldn''t get onto the end of it, but Grant Holt at the far post could and stabbed it into the back of the net. Chief Executive to Manager to Captain, all in the same moveMonday 14th March, Lansbury (H) vs Bristol CityNorwich looked to have squandered 3 points going into stoppage time, but Wes Hoolahan''s ball over the top of the defense looked to be gathered up by David James. Was it a bird? Was it a plane? No, it was Henri Lansbury with a flying sideways volley, who poked the ball into the back of the netSaturday 2nd April, Jackson (H) vs Scunthorpe UnitedThis on its own would never win GotS but its significance by the end of the season means it deserves a mention. A poor back-pass by a Scunthorpe player was pounced on by Simeon Jackson, who slid the ball under the advancing keeper. It was Jackson''s first goal in over six months, and gave him the confidence not only to bag the match ball that day, but go on an outstanding goal-scoring runThursday 21st April, R Martin (A) vs 1p5wich TownWith every Norwich City fan worried what kind of revenge a resurgent Ipswich Town side would give their rivals, this game turned out to be the best result from Portman Road in recent history. The Derby Double was secured when a counter-attack from an Ipswich corner let to Wes Hoolahan''s ball across the edge of the penalty spot being turned goal-wards by Russell Martin, who was defending the same corner Norwich broke from seconds earlier. I must mention Daniel Pacheco''s goal for the fifth, just to rub salt into the woundMonday 25th April, Jackson (H) vs Derby CountyAs with his other hat-trick in this month, this on its own would never win GotS, but would more than win Moment of the Season, just for the reaction of everybody in the stadium. In the fifth minute of stoppage time, Norwich looked to have given up second place to Cardiff, who had won their match against Preston, but by the sixth minute, Norwich had restored second in the most dramatic of ways. I''ll let Chris Goreham tell you what happened... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHp5kCdR35MSo that''s my Goal of the Season contenders. What do you all think?
  10. Good luck Bryan GunnAfter all the work that hes done over the years, he deserves a chance to progress his own career. We have never had a contract to keep Angus at Colney, so if Bryan wants to take him out of the academy, there is nothing we can doBefore you all slate his decision, just remember this, Gunn has a permanent reminder of his time in this county that no parent would ever wanted to have gained. He will never forget his time here, I will be sure of that.

  13. I think its got something to do with the champions league being at wembley this year so all the fixtures usually at the end of the season had to be moved. 1 place I wouldnt want to be tomorrow night would be manchester cause united wouldve got the point to win the title, and city would have won or blown the cup. Either way manchester will get very busy.
