  1. Even though speaking about the binners is not acceptable, I''ve just seen the most strangest comment in a while and it''s from Mr Royle. On Sky sports news, they are doing this poll whereby they ask managers if there was one thing (rule or other) they could change in football, then what would it be and strangely his answer was to scrap the D1, 2, 3 and conference play-offs and just have the top 3 (top 4 for division 3, top 2 for the conference) go up with no play- offs. Yet this is the man who got went up from D2 to D1 via the play-offs with Man City and is now publicly stating that a play off place is what Ips*** need to aim for with Automatic promotion looking for unlikely for them. Does anyone think he thinking about Norwich because he''s praised Green cos of his call up, He wrote in the Ips*** derby programme at theirs how much he enjoyed his 2 or so years at Norwich which could almost rub it in on their behalfs and now says that the usual quota of teams that go up from whichever divison should do with the top ? depending on which divison it is with no play offs. With us yellows hopefully going up and him to say something like and wanting to scrap the play offs which if although very unlikely happened, this would prevent the Binners from going up. Is he up to something about Ipswich down the A140?
  2. I think it''s brillaint that this corner is going to be built because then with the the Hotel being built in hopefully the near distant future, CR will be totally enclosed and can make the atmosphere which at the moment is brilliant into Unbelievable because with atmosphere from within an enclosed stadium is brilliant because of better acoustics. £3 million your right does sound a bit too much but hopefully the clever ones from within the club have finely worked this out. The reason I believe DL to the question of why aren''t they putting an extra tier on the South Stand immeadiately is because after a corner infill, if in the future they want to due to ticket demands and popularity increase capacity again then they would double tier the City Stand 1st and I understand that when they change the pitch it will be moved towards the South Stand and will be only a bit further away from the City Stand. With a two tier City Stand the ground will be a enlcosed stadium with 4, two-tiered stands and all of them same height. If we are in the premier in a few years time and doing fantastically well and ok this could if happened be a long time from now and ground capacity needs to increased again then the South Stand will be doubled tiered. I think it a good idea if it happened to double tier the City Stand 1st because if it did happen then all stands would be the same height but if the South Stand was double tiered before the City then you would have a huge South Stand, the 2 ends the same same height and a small City Stand and the ground could look horrible.
  3. Heard that 1,500 are still available JF. In terms of selling it will depend on how many people would want to go to the match rather than watching it on Sky and it is Bank Holiday Monday so some people might want to go out and do something else
  4. The atmosphere was electric and fantastic on Saturday like usual and lets keep it going because as Delia and Worthy say we have to be the 12th man. Anyway Stan the Man you have certainly come up with some better songs than I''ve managed because in the last few weeks because in my head I''ve thought of a few and being humming them out but if anyone sang them, well they could be embarrased or feel nostalgic.
  5. Everyone has been saying about who should go up front with Hucks on Saturday but no-one seems to of mentioned Jarvis. I mean he has hardly played this season and so can''t have run out of energy that people like Moyes with Rooney and Worthy with Jarvis don''t want too quickly and he his quite good sometimes when he comes off the bench (remember against Derby(H) and the consolation that gave us a chance against Watford(H)) so surely he would be an idea. Ok he probably couldn''t last or Worthy understandbly wouldn''t want to him to last the entire match but surely 65-75 minutes wouldn''t do him any harm. He''s young so a bit of youth with Huckerby would be fine, He and Hucks might get on well because Hucks because he could as they say look up to him for inspiration and he''d really want to perform. Something else which I know is sad to think of and work out has come to my mind lately as well about Jarvis and I was wondering if anyone could work this out. Jarvis does start a match and at the end wins the man of the match award. Now the MOTM of course has to speak to the media and as we know Jarvis has a media ban on him imposed by Worthy although he has a least once this season had an interview in the Programme but which was almost certainly going to happen. He also has to speak to Gunny in the Gunn club because that''s a thing that the MOTM with Norwich also has to do as well and no doubt the press will be their even though he won''t speak to them just Gunny. What with Worthy not wanting Jarvis to be caught in the media attention can anyone work out how Worthy would want that one to pan out.
  6. Given that it is highly unlikely that we will ever have Tom Hark as the goal music(nothing against Samba De Janeiro though) and considering that the binmen has it as their''s would of cause have started using before we did even though they weren''t the originators of it as goal music, why don''t we have as the entrance music becuase that''s one song that football fans in this country associate themselves with practically more than anyother and although we ourselves use it for some songs although never hear in it''s original music term at CR.I don''t know about you but I feel it would be quite nice if the teams came out to this because the present song Insamonia isn''t really that good although I do feel the previous one Elevation was quite good. Opinions
  7. The maximum allocation is 4,500 but if Reading decide not to give this full allocation then it will be roughly half of this. If you don''t make it it is on Sky. The name of the stand we are sitting in is the Foster Lager Stand at one end of the pitch. Actually the best thing for more information is to go on the Website footballgroundguide.co.uk, go to Reading and you''ll find just about everything you need to know on their. It is a very good website.
  8. After the last derby victory which amazingly was only about 2 and half months ago i asked if anyone thought or new if there would be a video of the match from the club produced by Anglia. Here I am again to ask does any think/know if the club will bring out a video for the Carrow road win. £12.99 value (£11.70 due to season Ticket) was something good to remember the previous victory and would be only to willing to spend that amount again for another tape.
  9. Now before i start I can''t stand Statistics (I can''t even say it) but this one is something that we might be hearing a lot about from now on. Anyway today we''ve a very unusual thing with the away team winning a penalty at Old Trafford. I read a column in the Pink Un a few months back about this issue of who scored the last penalty for an away team at Old Trafford and it was Ruel Fox for us in 1993 and only 3 have been awarded to the away team since then and all of them have never scored. Today 6/3/2004 that landmark is gone with Steed Malbranque for Fulham.
  10. A great run then cross to set-up Mckenzie''s 2nd at Portaloo Road, brilliant and it seems he has got back the form he had in his player of the year season. Man of the Match Tuesday night was right. Keep it going 3 lungs
  11. Norwich are giving the land between the Barclay and The New Stand ( or whatever it will be with this sponsorship thing later on) away for free to whichever company get the contract . They will built with their own money and the club won''t have to put anyting towards it. The contract i hear will say that the club will recieve ?% of money made from the hotel business if it were to be succesfull but if isn''t then the club will lose no money. The club can''t lose anything but can gain if the hotel were a success.
  12. Yep I will be watching the Qualifiying aswell. I am that sort of person who isn''t keen on re-runs or delayed highlights (barring soccer Sunday for obvious reasons) so will watch both Live. Should be a good sporting weekend with qualifying early Saturday Morning, 6 nations in the afternoon, the FA cup throughout the weekend, the race early Sunday morning and the big one at noon on Sunday.
  13. Just wondering out of interest anyone aswell as being a 100% canary fan also like the Formula 1 and is planning to watch it on Sunday morning. Ain''t it typical that the fixture computer put the fixture on this day of all days ( the provisional F1 dates for the races had been agreed shortly before the fixtures came out) although I consider the match more important. I will as usual show my 100% support come Sunday lunchtime but might be a bit tired after a late night. The Grand prix start at 3am (2pm in Melbourne, Australia) and will finish probably near 5am. Anyone else is also an F1 fan in the same boat of wathcing the race during the night then having the big Match at noon and how do you plan to cope with it.
  14. So then what does everyone think of the new Stand from anyone who sat in there yesterday or people from other parts of the stadium even though it''s only one game. Facilities, atmosphere, views etc. I know some people have complained about problems at the top of the stand and views from the very front seats and problems for disabled supporters but what does everyone on the whole think. From where i was sitting the view was really good with no posts or pillars, unlike the old stand I could see the lines on the South Stand side of the pitch and the roof was higher and not partially dipping down which can affect the eye line. The accoustics seemed much better than the old stand and a lot of us tried it out and it went well but do other people still feel there''s more to come from it or was it poor or reasonable.
  15. I totally agree with you on this matter. I now sit in area N where my new ticket is and there were at least 2 Hammers around me but may have been more. When Harewood scored the woman who looked crinkly and probably in her 50''s was one row and a few seats to the left of me got up and started goading and particularly looked at me doing that childish "We Scored" thing and kissing her coat which i think was a Reebok branding. When we scored she and this other person a male remained seated obviously and thankfully i got my revenge and shouted "ugly B*t*h" because she did look pretty like that ( I don''t how the asterisks work in that word so if i got it wrong don''t give me a hard time) and she heard this and got angry and then I made sure like every other Hammers fan she also got a full rendition of the 2nd part of Samba De Janiero to rub her nose in it. I mean it is so annoying that Norwich fans have been wanting tickets at Carrow Road for ages and here you with some opposition fans trying to not let us have that pleasure. I mean she could go in the away end and if there weren''t any they could miss the match. I mean aswell what with the restrictions of getting a ticket for match day how could they get one. The only way must be if someone gave them tickets or they bought them on the black market. I personally reckon that these people who did this were Norfolk or close East Anglian residents and I have heard of what procedures West ham fans have for ticket allocation but surely being based close to Norwich would mean they should be able to get tickets in the away end.
  16. Just Been on the official site and discovered that we have been given an allocation of 5,500 by the officials at Selhurst Park for the Crystal Palace game. Now considering that the usual allocation for away fans at Selhurst Park is between 2-3000 an increase must show something great about us .Also the Arthur Wait stand is normally shared with home fans so it seems they will be turfed out of those seats. Palace are doing really well at the moment being near the relegation area around 2 months ago and are almost in the play off position now so it won''t be an easy match so hopefully a big turn out can help the boys on to the 3 points. " Follow Follow Follow, Follow the boy in Yellow" ( or All Green on that day)
  17. If you look on the website www.footballgroundguide.co.uk and select Wimbledon it will give you the information you will need for the day and contains information on pubs. I delibrately didn''t name any in this message because i don''t know what type of pubs you would like so i thought I would give you the address of the site so you could find out for yourself.
  18. I don''t if anyone yet has seen or heard what happened during Sky Sports interview with Neil Warnock but what happened in the dying seconds of the interview looked like real good entertainment. The 1st highlights thing came on at 6:25 and he was ''very unhappy'' with not getting a penalty in the 2nd half and seemed to criticise most of the referee and linesmans decisions and then said sarcastically what the ref and linesmen would do in the evening (Like go out for a drink with friends and believe they would look back on a excellent day refereing). The interviewer then asked if he would talk to the referee and after getting barely a few words in that question he saw the ref and asked if he could have a word. I wonder if anything entertaining happened or he went overboard.
  19. Sorry everyone to use this as a separate chat but in reply to what you asked fetchyafathersgun or Alex which ever one you prefer, I am James Long yes but i come from Attleborough, 15 miles South of Norwich.
  20. The Delia Smith Stand as a temporary name or perhaps even permenant would be a great idea because the away fans would also have to sit there and although Delia is a saint in terms of Norwich City and the Queen of English Cuisine, she isn''t popular with many people when it comes to football and the away fans would have to sit in the Stand carrying her name which hopefully would p**s them off
  21. For those of you who have bought for yourself or someone else the Lotus Away kit, how do you feel about the news that it is going to be replaced for next season. I must admit that i found out that it would only be for this season. Also aswell what colour do you think the new kit will be?
  22. I remeber Neil Doncaster saying at the South Stand consultation meeting a year or so ago saying that the allocation for when the new stand for away fans can be 1,000, 2,000, 3,000 or for an FA Cup match 4,000 and very few seats will be lost in the segregation process or whatever allocation is taken. I personally reckon that they will both get 3,000 because West Ham obviously get a big following and for Derby''s the home team will usually offer the highest allocation which isn''t the FA cup allocation if both are different so I believe it''s around 3000.
  23. I don''t know what you all think about to what i''m about say but one thing annoys me and it''s not just for Norwich matches that it''s getting me annoyed but with other club Matches aswell. I have 2 revolutionary ideas but i doubt anyone from any of footy''s governing bodies would ever take even consider them but i reckon they can be realistic. 1. Have a rugby style 3rd referee so if the referee is in doubt over a decision then the 3rd referee can check the video and relay what he saw to the referee who carried an earpiece but with the video ref who could see it twice or more and would be more accurate. 2. The result of a match isn''t known for sometime like a couple of hours of even days. It''s like in Formula 1 where the drivers who finished the race have their cars in Parc Ferme for hours after the race and can''t be touched until released after inspection and where delegates check the legality and if anything is illegal then could face disqualification. My idea is where the match is over and a tape is sent to an top FA official who watches the match and if there were any decisions (e.g an contreversial disallowed goal mainly) that one team felt challenged then someone could check it out and if they felt it was a goal then award the goal. Also this could be used to check referee''s performance and if the referee made to many wrong decisions (incorrect penalty decision, fouls, sending offs, bias decision in one teams favour) then should be fined or face bans. I know these maybe mad idea''s but i only believe its fair because referees in this country are terrible and never consistent and i believe should be punished.
  24. I''ve noticed about what your saying on the matter but i remember reading in Y''Army issue 3 a song for Drury. Someone did suggest a song for him in that issue . A Drury (yellow submarine Tune) From the town of Peterborough Norwich City no 3 The finest left back in the world Better than Carlos or Maldini We all live in a drury Wonderland A Drury Wonderland A Drury Wonderland Now this wasn''t from me but as i say it was printed in Issue 3 although i don''t think i''ve heard a song sung that has come from the publication as yet.
