  1. Dad was an Arsenal fan having been billeted near there while in the army. It was my grandad who took me to my first games in an old Austin car, even had a running board along the side in about 1963 or 4 when i was ten. I will be forever grateful to him for that.
  2. Always in my seat 30/40 minutes before watching the warm ups. Might leave early if we''re four nil down in the 85th minute, to avoid the inevitable booing that is even more embarrassing than leaving early imho.
  3. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/606/posts/606-Extra-Time-Jason-Roberts-Relegation-Predictions ''The belief within the squad crucial to staying up''.
  4. Patience is, as they say, indeed a virtue but at some point it always runs out. Now to me the question is how long can we all afford to be patient before its too late to save the season.
  5. 26 points for my FF team, looking on the bright side....
  6. 18th. I fear we will not have enough of a points cushion before we hit that horrendous last four game run in. If we are not already safe by the middle of April we will struggle to survive. We played two teams at the right time in the last two games last season. Hope for the same this if Champions already crowned and all English clubs out of Champions League. Great believer in the beach effect me! Oh nearly forgot, some top players might also have half an eye on avoiding injury before a little trip to Brazil.
  7. How they could play so skilfully with the heavy leather laced ball and boots with big toe caps, covered in dubbin.
  8. Enjoyed reading his book and enjoy listening to him on ''Talk Sh***'' on occasion and he seems like a decent bloke. But would I want him as manager of our club? No!
  9. But it''s so hard to be so upbeat when you''re so depressed.
  10. Stuart Pearce Available. Good working with youngsters, and a psycho.
  11. Wouldn''t play Fer or Bassong. Protect them for more important issues. Imagine losing one of our key players for months to a cruciate injury or something in such a game. League much more important.
  12. I think it is meaningful at this stage. We have a horrendous run in and it was many fans view that we needed to get early points. If we are in the position we were last season, not being safe with three or four games to go we will find it very difficult. I see no sign yet of a ten game unbeaten run although you never know. I am not a Hughton in or out person, I just hope we can start to put points on the board more consistently. My perspective of the relegation zone is that we need points sooner because we may not get them later. So yes I am a bit worried.
  13. Big worry this. We want bright intelligent footballers playing for England. Players who can understand what the manager is saying, what he means. The player who leaked this clearly did not.Makes you wonder if he should be playing for the national team at all if he is that dim?
  14. I support my corner shop up to a point. If I run out of milk or bog rolls i''ll walk the 50 metres or so to get them but other than that I drive 3 miles to my nearest megastore.... which i guess is still fairly local. if that''s any help?
  15. No. I support Norwich. My local team is Lowestoft. Never been to Crown Meadow in all of my 59 years living within 5 miles of the ground.
  16. I think we can cut the op some slack seeing as how he''s based in the Philipines. Or does that just make him more of a plastic?
  17. A little bit snobby Mr B But for the record No The Jarrold
  18. Well done Teapot. This has been the most amusing thread. I''ve enjoyed it so much I''ve just read every post again. It was even better knowing how it ended. Oh and no Fozzie, nice try but your outrage deliberately misses the point as I am sure you are well aware, a vain attempt at deflection! Even more hilarious! Shame about Benno though.
  19. Ideally,Snoddy to get a hat trick but Whittaker and Martin play well for Scotland,no blame attached to them for any of England''s 4 goals in a 4-3 win. ;-)
  20. For Scotland against England tomorrow. He has just been speaking to Holty on Radio Cumbria. If there''s a fifty fifty tackle in the first few minutes he will smash it because if not thousands of Scott''s will be on his back. I can see why Hughton was not impressed by the timing of this so called friendly. The possibility of injuries to players is a concern.
  21. Always liked him. I think his passing has improved since last year too. Listening to his interview after the match he said Hughton told him to calm down at half time. He said he plays like that because he is basically desperate to keep the shirt. That''just shows what healthy competition does. It was only a friendly too.
  22. "How people can judge on pre season is ridiculous " To be fair many of us who watched last seasons friendlies worried about the lack of goals and the need for more fire power. Look how that turned out! Yes 11th place but goal scoring remained poor as indicated during pre season.
