1. Butler, Brennan & Bryceland, followed by Keelan and definitely Ron Davies. If I had to pick 2 from those I would say Barry Butler and Ron Davies. Who were both brilliant at different ends of the pitch.
2. Ofoe. I forgot O''Neil who I think will be a valuable experienced member of the squad.
3. When everyone is available and fit, what would our best team and bench be? I think it''s going to be difficult to pick, as we seem to have strength in depth. Without seeing how the new players fit into our team and play, I would guess at something like this - RUDDY MARTIN MIGUEL TURNER OLSSON JOHNSON TETTEY REDMOND/MURPHY Belgian player GRABBAN HOOPER Subs Rudd, R Bennett, Howson, Hoolahan, Jerome, Lafferty ? Sorry couldn''t remember Belgian players name. Have I missed anyone out that should be in the squad in your opinion?
4. I''ve not seen a post on here regarding ratings v Bournemouth and since i only caught a few highlights on BBC, it would be great to have some opinions. Thanks.
5. I''m sure he''ll come good at some stage. If he doesn''t then he will not progress. He has potential, it is just a case of whether he will fulfil it. I wish him luck, unless of course he plays against us.
6. On his day, he''s a great player, unfortunately we didn''t see enough of his top form but that may have been down to the formation, tactics and instructions Hughton gave him and the team. I saw enough to see that he has great potential in the right set up. Will he deliver? I think he might. If he does, you''ll have a job hanging onto him.
7.
Ruddy Martin. Turner. Bennett. Garrison Tettey. Johnson Redmond/murthy Hoolahan. Grab ban Lafferty Howson. Hooper. O''Neil jerome. Cuellar. Bennett. Ollson waiting to compete for places when they are fit or ready to replace any players when they are injured or have lost form. Garrison? Who is that? I meant Garrido obviously ! A healthy competitive squad, which looks strong. I''m reasonably confident we''ll have a good season whether it will be good enough to win promotion only time will tell, but the feel good factor appears to be back at Norwich FCC for now.
9.
Really wish the club hadn''t have come out with that tripe about not needing to sell anyone... Snodgrass, fair enough at that money, but Fer for £7mill is hardly an offer too good to turn down for a club that supposedly doesn''t need to sell anyone. Fer''s one of those players we should be building the team around if we were planning on trying to stay up after promotion (which is by no means a given, but should certainly be the plan!)
I agree Gibbo. If we don''t have to sell, put a price on him ie £10m and if the offer meets that he can go. £7m is far too cheap and I bet half of that won''t be used to build our team.
10. I only saw a few highlights and read the reports, so I would guess at RUDDY 7 WHITTAKER 6 MARTIN 6 TURNER 7 GARRIDO 6 TETTEY 7 JOHNSON 8 REDMOND 6 HOOLAHAN 7 LAFFERTY 7 GRABBAN 6 FER 7 O''NEIL 6
11. I can''t find anything on sky sports news or the bbc sports gossip columns to suggest Fer is leaving for QPR. I could understand it if he wanted a move to Everton who are as it happens without Barkley for up to 5 months, but to move to a grubby club like QPR who may struggle this season is not particularly ambitious. We have Howson, Hoolahan, Tettey,,Johnson, O''Neil, Fer?, Surman to choose from in central midfield, so if we did lose Surman it wouldn''t be such a great loss if we held onto Fer. Let''s hope we hang onto our best players so that we have the best chance of promotion this season.
12. He''s worth more than that, much more. I wouldn''t sell for anything less than £10m and I think there are clubs that would pay that much so why accept anything less? As has been said before if McCormack and Deeney are worth £12m & £10 respectively we should definitely hold out for a higher offer. I will be very disappointed if we sell for £8m. Any club that buy him know his value will increase considerably over the next 3 years, so hang on to him until a higher offer comes in please.
13.
Good shout- tbh I''d forgotten he existed. I''d also be tempted to maybe try Bennett at RB as attacking, overlapping fullbacks would help. Ideally I''d line the team up like this... Ruddy E. Bennett/Martin, Turner, R Bennentt, Olsson Tettey O''Neill, Fer Redmond, Lafferty, Grabben.
Olsson is suspended. We need to play Redmond on the wing, as I feel he uses his pace better down the flanks and can get in behind the opposing defence. The main thing he lacks is a decent cross, if he can make major improvements in this area then he should create loads of chances.
14. We have Ryan Bennett, Fer, Howson, Tettey, Hooper, Pilkington to come back, plus possibly Bassong unless he is sold and replaced and O''Neil to fit in somewhere across the midfield. For the time being they are still our players so we should make use of them. Personally I would have O''Neil playing instead of Johnson with Fer alongside him. The defence is poor at the best of times, so we need a new right back and another central defender if Bassong is leaving and even if he isn''t. Martin isn''t a good enough centre back and he would struggle to fit in my team so he shouldn''t be captain in my eyes. He may just be better than Whittaker but neither are that great. So who should be captain? Howson perhaps or O''Neil once he has settled in? Ruddy 8 All defenders 5 Johnson Surman Hoolahan Bennett Redmond 5 Grabban 6 Lafferty put himself about when he came on and I think he deserves a start. Every one else should be working hard to keep a place in the side as there is plenty of competition for places. Whether the likes of Fer would be interested in playing for a side struggling in the Championship remains to be seen but it is early days.
15. There should be plenty of spare tickets in the Ipswich stand
16. I hope we hang on to Fer as I think he could have a big part to play this season. If he does well, as I think he should, then his price may double. Really pleased with the other contract and transfer business. We now need further competition at the back, since it seems Bassong will be leaving.
17.
What is it at Soton, a frigging fire sale? Everything must go...
They''re arranging a friendly 5 a side game with Blackpool !
18. Looking at the way things stand, I would like to keep him, so he can really light up the Championship and show us how well he can really play. We don''t have to sell him, so why would we unless we get a ridiculous offer ie £10 m. Up to now he''s been OK and outstanding in 5 or 6 games at the most. I think he has great potential and if he did well this coming season his value would increase and then we may even get over £12m for him. If he is prepared to work hard this season, I would want to keep hold of him to hopefully get us back in the Premiership. I could see Southampton being interested and they have a good size transfer kitty but they will really struggle to match last season''s efforts after losing so many of their top players. The question is how well will they be able to rebuild. They may even struggle this season.
19. anyone got any ideas who we can get to replace him? How about Huckerby? or perhaps we need someone with a little more experience in this area
20. If we play a 4-3-3 formation, I think one of the front 3 has to be a winger, ie Redmond, if he can learn to put a decent ball into the box, failing that Bennett or Pilkington if we don''t sell him. We have to have some pace, as our side lacked that last season and it showed. Our back four was ponderous apart from Ollson and apart from Redmond nobody in our midfield or strike force was particularly quick.
21. Our tactics were not good enough, our attacks were far too methodical and slow, that it allowed Uruguay time to organise themselves. We were too predictable as usual and didn''t make the most of Stirling''s pace. We should have known what to expect from Suarez, as we gifted him both goals. Yes he was in the right place to score but no defender was close enough to him. It was less about Suarez brilliance and more about our poor defending. Two mistakes from Gerrard led to both goals and the positioning of our defenders was like watching a school team. In summary I''d say we are not good enough to compete with the world''s best but we could and should have made it much harder for them, as Uruguay are not that good apart from their strikers.
22. I''d be happy with £5million or £4 with add ons
