1. Firstly I''m sure the club have been looking at him for a while, I somehow doubt they have just thrown a dart at a board and selected the 1st person it hit. Now for some positives He has taken one of the middle Scottish 2nd level clubs and certainly the smallest Scottish top level club to 3rd in the table and beaten Celtic. He has a 56% win percentage Many good mangers never succeeded playing at the highest level. Lambert was a relatively unknown when he came to us and we all know what happened with him. Being young he is unlikely to bring his own backroom team and is likely to work with Phelan (despite what some of you say is still a top coach) Compensation is likely to be minimal He seems to get players to gel as a team and manages to be teams above them often with convincing score lines
2. Too early for a yes or no some assistants make good managers others don''t.
3. Happens on a regular basis to us. Even during some of our better times with our most highly rated managers. Most heartbreaking for me has to be the Semi against Sunderland
4. Apologies if this has already been posted http://www.meisstudio.com/carrow-road As with many grounds first drawings look impressive but are often scaled down when they really happen
5. Hughtons 1 championship season (including cup games) ended in a win percentage of almost 63% with Birmingham he had a win percentage of 42% With those championship stats it is a very good appointment Lets hope he doesn''t put one over us when we visit them
6. I went to university there and admire the club However they won''t go up as they are still a very small club and their finances are limited and will probably lose some of their better players in January. Although that''s just my opinion that''s what I think will happen
7. Martin is an excellent Championship player but cant cut it in the permiership. There has been many like him over the years, you have to feel for players like these because you always think they deserve a crack at the top level
8. I would take a poor 1st half every week if we went on to win 5-0 in the 2nd
9. Interesting on the debt, most of that was thanks to chases legacy thanks to what he did we almost went under. I love the way you list bad players under current regime, there were plenty under chase, beckford, coney etc. if players were any good under chase they were sold and where did the money go, overpriced construction for the club under a company owned by which family! But I may support a statue of chase if it doubles up as a urinal.
10. Also if you look back on posts from the last 12 months many people claim that ruddy hot worse under watson
11. Ruddy played well under other coaches so you can hardly blame that. Why he left, probably for ££££ that and he thinks the championship is beneath him always was a bit stuck up that one
12. We tried to buy Wilson too but he opted for AFCB
13. Also if Adams is still in charge by next season chances are we will have been promoted.
14. Those who think Phelan is here to replace Adams, just remember that has never managed a club and therefore would be just as risky as appointing adams was. Many assistant managers/ coaches don''t make good managers despite fantastic records as the right hand man. Hopefully Phelan will bring in the experience that our management team did not have. With Holt being the most experienced even that was limited.
15. like this will bother the club, there is a waiting list after all
16. £32 for something you may wear twice in a year - rip off!
17. Fantastic appointment - every manager needs a good backroom team and SAF''s former number 2 has got to be a winner
18.
Once again I will say it, if Adams needs a hand then he blatantly isn''t up to the job is he? He should have been an assistant before getting the top job!!
Every good manager needs a good team behind him, that''s why Walker was so poor in his 2nd spell, Faulkner wasn''t a good coach and when walker took over the training we won 5-0 twice in a couple of weeks. If you look at Man Utd under Sir Alex, every time he lost his assistant the club lost the title
19. Although he''s been out of a proper job for pushing 18 months and he has never managed a side full time, could be a stepping stone.
20. I am surprised his name hasn''t been mentioned as a potential replacement for Robson He did a good job under Lambert as assistant and quite a few on here wanted him to step up to manager after Lambert departed
21. Seriously though he would be a good choice head coach
22. It''s happened many times in the past YC We are a considerably bigger club than Bournemouth I''ve seen many managers go to a club below them sometimes that club could even be in relegation when the manager has gone there.
23. What on earth is on the bottom of my post!
24. Would be my number one choice should Adams go. Might cost us a bit but despite our league positions we are a far bigger club than AFCB Send this member an email Report
