1. Well done to all the morons like the OP who hassled Mcnally on twitter - you drove him away.Who are you going to moan at now you idiots?
 2. More twaddle from the pinkun brandeadheads.1. It''s pre-season, who gives a stuff what the result was.2. Hertha are two weeks ahead of us in their preparation and shipped two goals, who should be more concerned?3. We have Ayala coming back, Bennett settling in, Tierney coming back and a new right-back from a top club, how in anyone''s tiny-brained universe is that not sorting it out?
 3. Anyone who thinks Carroll will come to Norwich is insane or spends too much time on football manager.
 4. Personally I reckon 1 at the back is madness.  Now if you were to swap it round so it was a 4-2-3-1 then yes I agree and it''s the formation we used during pre-season and at the start of the season against better teams.Howson and Johnson as the centre two with Wes, Bennett and Pilks in front is a pretty good mix.The only problem is that it means people will get on Morisons back again, because they are so effing thick they can''t grasp that a single strikers role is to move around and play the attacking midfielders in, not sit up front and wait for hoofball to reach them.
 5. People keep going on about this mythical diamond. When Hoolahoop came one it was 4-4-1-1 to cram the midfield more, something we should have done from kick off.Not a diamond in sight.

I assumed Jackson must have had a knock, couldnt see any other reason for subbing him at half time, he was playing really well.
........looked like a change of tactics to close down the space scoles was getting and it worked brilliantly, though playing diamond against a team like united could have been dangerous.
6. Howson is an attacking midfielder.  What on earth has he got to do with Johnson????As for this Johnson was poor rubbish, we were playing Man Utd, everyone was chasing shadows at times.
Johnson was again poor in my eyes, Some good passes, but his general play was poor. Poor control, slow to react, did not attempt to cut out the cross for Scholes opening goal, etc. Did not do the watchdog job he is (likely) supposed to be doing. Did no harass, did not tackle (except for the all-too-yellow card), and I just feel he is not doing the job properly. Cant wait for Howson, because to me, Johnson is nowhere near Premier quality at the moment. Surely Lambert must see this? Surprised to see Wes come on for Jackson. I was expecting Johnson to be subbed at HT due to his poor game and yellow card. Jackson caused Man U trouble with his tireless running down the channels.
7. You answered your own question!  Its because we are in the prem....Diamond is not OUR formation, it is a formation that has suited the players we had and leagues we were in.Anyone who watched the friendlies and has a brain enough to know a bit about the game they pay a lot of money to allegedly watch every week,  can see that the players we brought in are not players who can play a diamond, and it would be SUICIDE to play a diamond in the prem, especially away from home.  The diamond works if the full backs can get forward, which in the prem they won''t be able to consistently.  We would be too narrow in midfield and our full backs would be ruthlessly exposed.  So you need width further up the pitch. You also need to protect the back four better.  Fox can''t do that, but we need him to take and pass from a tackler beside him, ie Crofts or Johnson.  So that gives you 4-2-3-1 rather than a 4-1-2-1-2 (diamond). We brought in Pilkington and Bennet, players who cannot play in a diamoon as they showed in the friendlies - they leave us with nothing in the centre of the pitch. Add to that Surman, Martin and Hoolahan, all players who excel as attacking midfielders, and you can see why they are there - to play a 3 man attacking midfield line.  The reason we have brought in Morison is cover for Holt in holding the line up front, with Vaugan/Jackson for those occassions when we need a goal and throw two on up front. We will not play a diamond much this season.  We will play 4-3-2-1. It was obvious watching the Zaragossa and Parma games that we had round pegs in square holes, right up until the obvious change to 4-2-3-1 after 50 mins against Parma.  Lambert wants to keep that formation under wraps as much as possible, hence why it was only used for the last bit of pre-season.  He said he would not be giving much away as he knew Wigan were watching, hence why the obvious formation for the division and our players was only used briefly, right at the end of pre-season.As soon as we switched, we domainated, the attacking midfielders destroyed Parma''s backline, and Fox was able to concentrate on distribution while Johnson broke things up and gave him the ball.  On the defensive, two Surman and Pilks dropped back to give us 5 packed into midfield. Its the obvious formation both to protect the defence, pack the midfield and make use of Fox who''s passing will be absolutely key next season. However, a lot of people won''t spot the the subtly. Even the Pinkun called it a 4-5-1, describing Fox and Johnson behind the three attacking midfielders, which, duh, is 4-3-2-1 a completely different team layout to 4-5-1 !So based on common sense and the players we have, the strengths we have and the protection we need to give the back four, it will be 4-3-2-1 and  the starting 11 will be:RuddyNaughtonDe LaatBarnettTierneyFoxJohnsonBennett (although I hope Pilkinton makes it as he is a far superior player)HoolahanSurmanHolt
AS far as i can tell, the diamond has been the main formation in the friendlies, and our main formation for the past two years, so why does a large proportion of people expect us to change formation immediately in the prem? Diamond is our formation, with 4-2-3-1 as a back up formation, slightly more defensive. I think the same team as yesterday will line up next weekend, the midfield worked well, as did the defence. R.Martin could start if he''s 100%
8. NCFC are in one of the best leagues in the world now, the one we all wanted them to be in.  They announce ticket prices comparable, and lower in many cases than other teams in the division, and we get moaning.  We want great players but we don''t want to contribute, bearing in mind we go up with 20 million of debt still in the background.  That''s the reality, and dressing it up in "it was not like this in the old days" is not dealing in reality, its day dreaming. It really is very, very simple for anyone to grasp.  It''s SUPPLY AND DEMAND.  If the ground was half full the prices would not go up.  The club know they can fill the place every week, so they put the prices up as much as they dare.  It''s a business, not a charity, and that is a fact that nobody can pretend does not exist. As for this "poorest in society" being priced out nonsense.  Of course they are!  People are clamouring to watch Norwich next season, and are willing to PAY.  The poor are priced out of most things for similar reasons. How many "poor" people have new cars?  Holidays?  Football is a luxury, not a life-giving essential and it owes nobody nothing.  Why should it be any different to any other consumer-driven item or activity? The people spouting the "working class hero" rubbish need to look at themselves rather than blame the club, and trying to make out that the hard working people who are paying to watch their team next season are "happy clappies".  That''s just trying to blame others for your own problem. It''s about PRIORITIES.  I see one guy here says he will stay in his garage with his motorbike on a Saturday rather than go.  Sell your flipping bike!  Which is more important to you?  You can''t afford both, so you make a choice as with other things in life as to your personal PRIORITIES.  Everyone has to do it at some stage over something.Moaning and blaming others is victim mentality, its the "society owes me" mindset.  It owes you jack.  If you want to go next season, but can''t afford it, look for a better job, or change your spending habits or personal priorities.  If after all that you genuinely cannot to go due to finances, then sorry but that''s the way of the world. If you love football, you could go and watch your local boys for a couple of quid, or even free, same as if you love driving you can buy a car for £200 and drive.  but if you want the best car, you have to save up, make sacrifices or change your job.And to the guy saying "I have three kids and cannot afford to go".  You answered your own flipping question!  You have THREE kids.  If everyone had three kids the planet would have collapsed by now.  You selfishly whad three kids, and now you selfishly expect to go to to flight football as some sort of god given right because you cannot afford everything.Sorry to be so harsh but some of you seem to expect to be bloody spoon fed.
 9. "we just couldnt penetrate the gorleston defence "Just think about what you have written.
 10. " I''m not so sure about Tierny"Based upon what evidence?  His superb Championship season?
 11. 1.5 million.  How is cuckooland these days?
Martin needs games to progress and he''s not gunna get them with us next year, either loan him out or if we need the money for someone else sell him for around 1.5m.
12. Only someone who is blind would lump Chris Martin in with Johnson and MacDonald.Martin will be here next season and will get games, and score.Oli Johnson is a league one sub, was used as such, and will be ditched quick-sharp.MacDonald is not the messiah, he is a very average league one player, and will get sold for a nominal sum.
 13. Nonsense. These are people.  People pick up language quickly.  How much does a defender need to understand when his mate is screaming at him and pointing?People seriously over-estimate language barriers.
 14. And as for " especially at the price talked about", personally I think its a good price for Morison.  Long will go for 7+ million (includin addons etc). Is that a good price? Graham will go for around 4 with add-ons, will he do any better than Morison - nobody knows.Calm down and enjoy the ride, Lambert and Culverhouse know what they are doing.
I''m a little concerned that the signing of Morrison will complete our stiker collection. Bar holt none fill me with confidence for goals and bar vaughan none have premiership experience. Morrison has hardly set the championship alight and there are definatley better options in Graham, Long, Nugent, bothroyd to name a few. In not completely righting Morrison off however as he is a good player, It''s just not quite the exciting signing I''d hoped for especially at the price talked about. I was hoping we''d be signing a few from the cream of the championship. I''m aware lots of people trust lamberts decisions, but he''s new to the premiership - are people confident players like Vaughan and Morrison are going to add enough quality to be competitive next year??
15. Nugent? Bothroyd?  In what universe are they "better".
I''m a little concerned that the signing of Morrison will complete our stiker collection. 16. You should be more concerned about your friend being racist rather than where they got the bloody photo from.
 17. The price of fags has gone up not because of inflation but to try to convince hopelessly addicted people to save their lives and save the health service billions....
everything goes up in price not just in football, just brought a pack of fags nearly 8 quid,
18. I abhor racism.I am however, slightly concerned that the club has just jumped in and banned him this idiot for life.A UK council had to take twitter to court in California to get the details it required, yet the club thinks it can  purely on the visible evidence.  I say that''s not actually enough.  If the racist moron had the brains (which I doubt) he would get a solicitor to write to the club and say "prove it was actually him that submitted the offensive tweets, or see you in court".Anyway, one racist moron banned is good, however, as I say, I am concerned at the precedent the club is setting oth in terms of the timescale and the presumption of guilt. If it had been a black lad who had spouted "too many white w*****s in NCFC" on twitter.  Would the club have jumped in so fast?  I think not.  Would Mark Bright?  No way.  Would Archant have run a story with a photo?  Never in a million years.  There are potential double standards here. Finally, Mark Bright has shown himself to be equally bigoted, by tarring all NCFC fans with the same brush.  I suspect he sees Norfolk as the "deep south" of the UK. He was also more than "joking" about the club and the county, indeed, when MP''s and others have made negative comments about Norfolk, we have had front page outrage from Archant. Not a peep from Archant about Brights behaviour though. So the racist moron gets slapped for life and a police investigation, while Bright does not even get questions asked by the local press.Smells a tiny bit like a witch hunt.
 19. " "I doubt Ben Foster is being paid much. "Ironic statement? He will be on 25 grand a week at least.
 20. I think the exasperation of some of us, is why some of you are pressing the panic button already. We have to build up a squad, needing at least 7 players apparently.  With that number to find, we will not be buying world beaters.  Its also frustrating that people believe the fees being bandied about, there is no way we are paying 2.5 million up front for Vaughan.People need a dose of reality in who we can afford.  Shan Long is one such player.  If Reading don''t go up, we are not going to pick him up for tuppence.  He will be in a bidding war, and with agents fees and addons, the purchasing club will end up paying at least 7 million quid for him, before wages.  Is that any more worth it?Lambert and McNally are not Doncaster and Worthington, that is all the reassurance you need to know.
Well, I''ve believed the top of League 1 is of a very similar standard to the upper mid-table of the Championship (for the past few seasons at least). Judging that us, Leeds and Millwall all finished in the top half this year, it''s a good indication that is true. However, the difference to the Championship and Premiership is MASSIVE!!! Which inevitably we found out the last time we went up. Therefore, people who remember that are quite understandably nervous on preparing ourself - and not making another Ashton error again (£3.5 million well invested, but too late). As people have quite rightly said on many of the threads, we all trust Paul Lambert to make the right decision. But don''t have a go at those others who are concerned. Surely a good forum, that makes ;)
21. What?Read my post.  The clue is in the word "before".

Holt hardly set the world on fire before he arrived?Neither did Jackson.Neither did Crofts.Neither did Russel Martin. And on and on and on.Get a grip and have some faith.
Certainly don''t agree with that. Crofty looked good from day 1 (the best player when we lost to Watford on the first day of the season). Holt scored a hat-trick on his second appearance for us when he joined. Jackson.... ok, that was a slow start. But what does that have to do with Vaughan? he had 25 games for Palace.... how long do you need? Have you seen him play since his early days of promise at Everton then? Just telling you the more current observations.
22. Seriously, do you think we are paying 2.5 million up front?  Do you honestly believe that figure SSN stated?  Do you seriously believe for a second we are handing over 2.5 million to Everton''s bank account today, or anytime in the near future?
We''re playing £2.5m for the 41st top scorer in the Championship last season. Who was outscored by a load of midfielders & a even a defender...
23. I was just going to post something similar.  Some people really, really need to get a grip on reality.  We need at least 7 players in.  They are not all going to be world beaters to a man, we need to improve the level of the squad, so young players like Vaughan fit that bill havin played and trained at a higher level than, well, our entire current strikeforce!People also need to stop the fixation with fees.  Vaughan, if its trus, is never going to cost us 2.5 million up front.  If he scores 10 goals and we stay up, then maybe those sort of add ons will reach 2.5 million, bu otherwise its madness to think Lambert would throw 2.5 million at a player offered to Crystal Palace for 750k.Last year people moaned about the players coming in, yet we won promotion with what, on paper was a relegation side of league on players. The sum is greater than the parts, surely after two seasons people should recognise that?Anyway, common sense out of the way, I  will leave those people moaning about Vaughan to scream "forward" every time we pass sideways next season....
 24. That 5m, if true is not all in one go though is it?  Its add ons that could be paid over years.  Up front fees will be probable half of that, not bad business.
 25. Holt hardly set the world on fire before he arrived?Neither did Jackson.Neither did Crofts.Neither did Russel Martin. And on and on and on.Get a grip and have some faith.
