  1. Of course, but as we know from Buendia, Maddison and a few others, it’s not about wanting to sell but the requirement to sell!
  2. Two things, Sargent is a pro, in his prime and will be itching to play the highest level! So if a premier club comes in he will ask to leave! The club has a debt this year and will need to align again for a season in the championship, FFP means we will need to balance the books! As much as none of us like losing the best players unfortunately it’s the nature of the beast! Rowe is injured and will no doubt stay, but he’s into his final year next year so a long term contract needs to sorted. Same for Sara as above in his prime like Sargent.
  3. We wouldn’t risk it, Todd was worth a fortune and in hindsight should of sold him before he started to cause issues! The club will have learnt that if a players head gets turned then unfortunately it’s a good time to maximise profit!
  4. Unfortunately there’s a real chance we might sign a player like O’Hare but come the end of summer we’re likely to be without Sargent & Sara.
  5. The only way we can hold onto him and probably Sara is to get promoted! Unfortunately the nature of our club in this business is we need to sell to survive and keep up our Cat1 status and players view us as a good stepping stone to bigger things. £25 million in the summer will go a long way to building the squad, we have far too many over 30’s in our squad we need some quality to build around.
  6. I think we need agree Idah pushed to go, I don’t think he’d have been loaned out with his record of goals and assists. The club probably didn’t have an option. I think it shows either two things, we don’t have much money to get top quality strikers in to push Sargent or we don’t have the trust in Wagner to waste money in January and keeping the funds for the new coach come summer. We shall see Hogs but if we are to seriously consider buying VH we need to see him or he certainly won’t be staying and as you say a wasted opportunity possibly of pushing for promotion.
  7. You can’t compare because game circumstances are so different and players on the pitch too! So stats aren’t really comparable in terms of a players 30 minute performance. I’ve yet to see VH to say he’s not going to be any good or not, but I do think he’s got to be given real game time and I’m sure it’ll come!
  8. Indeed, you almost need that second team set up as they have in some other countries!
  9. You saw maker than me the first two games Hwang did less than VH has! Anyhow, a lot of people said the same about Sargent so who knows how good VH will turn out, or not but 60 minutes certainly isn’t enough time to be so critical.
  10. I agree but your first paragraph misses out Hwang, he was utterly useless and lost, scored a screamer and suddenly everyone saw a different player!
  11. Hogs, some of us were calling for Idah to be given more time on the pitch, I’m sure a big part of Idah’s decision to go was sitting on the bench watching Barnes a player in his last two seasons who’s not really contributing more than he did! So to say keeping Idah here would go against Wagners ideas of Sargent & Barnes! As for VH he isn't lighting up the pitch when he comes on then again twice now he’s come onto the pitch and the games changed to our advantage. While I totally agree he looks out of sharpness and a little lost, he’s only had 60 odd minutes of football with us, how can you seriously judge him on that! I am surprised by your thread here, you’re not normally one to be critical of anything Norwich, maybe a full 90 plating up top with chances being created might give us a better viewpoint, though you might be right he could just be a rubbish loan!
  12. Indeed it’s an attempt to defend Barnes who today was utterly useless! To criticise a player who’s only had 32 minutes till today is sad! Not something I think hogs would normally do!
  13. Good three points agree! Results matter now, we had the performance against Cardiff, it’s good to grind a result out too! We do need to rotate the team, some looked tired and probably need a rest! Middlesbrough next, maybe time for Sorensen to start and drop Barnes? Go more solid in the middle.
  14. Not worth it, I’d consider purchasing at £5 per share! That’s all the clubs worth with the level of debt against it! 😉
  15. There’s the question and timeline on when that will actually happen will also dictate on who will be sold to cover future debts. Likelihood is Tzolis & Idah are gone, both appear to want out, then if we get Sara & Sargent wanting to play higher level we might need to sell these guys too, we are a stepping stone club for good young players under the current owners. Nothing can be done about that without promotion. I can see a protracted few years of championship football like the 9 seasons we spent here from mid 90’s. It will be a big factor to the level of debt by the time MA takes ownership of the club and what his intentions are. We’re in limbo for the foreseeable future, so we need a good vision and talented coaching staff to get the best chance of promotion short term IMO. Another critical summer coming up.
  16. Yep in a nutshell! We are in debt to the tune of about 26 million if the figures discussed on here are accurate, we still have player sales and last set of parachute money which covers some of the debt on MA, so I believe the true debt this year someone said was likely to be 26 million. We will no doubt require further alignment into FFP guidance so the wage budget will no doubt be cut further and high earning players such as Gibson will probably be heading out the door on his contract ending. Tzolis & Idah will probably be two sales to generate around 10 million this summer and if we can keep Sara, Sargent & Rowe it will be a successful summer! We will no doubt see a few loans and probably a few academy players out on loan will be utilised in the first team squad. Which is no bad thing, it’s great to watch our own come through! We will have to accept that we are back to square one, less budget, FFP rules to abide by and try to build a squad worthy of promotion, that might take a few years…..
  17. Good luck PUPS….. Sparta Prague v Slavia Prague - Home Win! For us, Sargent at the treble! OTBC
  18. The thing is if there’s any issues regarding this process then surely by now they would have been blocked, advice given on how to move forwards and a resolution found! It doesn’t take this long to go through the vetting surely?
  19. Trouble is it’s all assumptions as no news is being given. We can all hint at half truths from FFP to loans to Both parties not agreeing on things! It would be nice to have a clean start going into the summer from top to bottom, this is a big part of the discord, the clubs drifting and has been for three years, since our last promotion, we’ve steadily fallen apart, gained big debt, somehow ended up with a poor squad full of old pros with no future and a manager who doesn’t appear to have full backing from the top or the fans! Sad isn’t it!
  20. Pretty much every search you make you can find figures of the estimated wages, we’re ranked 4th in most with a wage bill of 23 million. Not hard to accept, even if it’s guesswork by those in the know reporting the wages! So pretty accurate and will be confirmed by tge accounts for this season! Not sure what your point of verification really is!
  21. I’ve always had time for Idah as you’ll see by my posts, he’s an outstanding talent, if someone can get his head right he’s going to be some player. Sad that really is!
  22. He shouldn’t have suitors he should be here playing with confidence and supported by the fans on and off the pitch. The lads got bags of talent and potential! It’s sad that as a club we’ve certainly become fragmented in all areas, there was a time we were United and as one! Now there’s a division in the terraces, the board, the players! Sad isn’t it, we should be excited about having a firing Idah back for next season not talking about selling him. Wish everything could be sorted this summer! Takeover completed, manager sorted and club & fans United behind a new coach & team how refreshing would that be?
  23. Agree, but like I said without them he’s failed in a massive way, so must indicate what value they were to him. Lets be honest sometimes managers fit a club, make it successful and then get that big offer, how many actually take the next big team to success not many and most get sacked in 12 months! Maybe they should look to build on the success they’re making than jump ship..
