I would think most Norwich fans like Hernandez, but in the cold light of day he has had one good season, and that seems an awfully long time ago. The sad fact is we know exactly what we are going to get from Hernandez - just 8 goals and 10 assists in total over the past 4 seasons, from a player with his determination and dribbling skills, playing high up the pitch, is shockingly bad. Luckily for him, his personality has proved far greater than his ability to effect a game.

Powder-puff defence or not, Rowe seemingly apart, there is no other player on the Carrow Road books that could have produced a goal of anywhere near that quality. If any supporter can suggest a player then I will argue that their final shot would have either hit the post or blazed high over the bar.

The evidence after match day 1 suggests selling Mumba and playing Hernandez was crass in the extreme. Hernandez, despite his best efforts, is one of the bluntest weapons in our limited armoury. Much like Aarons , with his endless attacking runs down the road to nowhere, which was sadly emphasised by Stacey’s display today. Mumba looks like a real attacking deal, and without a clear explanation as to why he went, the hierarchy look to have made an appalling decision on letting Mumba go.

Steady….not prolific…… Spent as much time injured as playing, last season… Should bed in seamlessly……

That was a pretty emphatic statement!

Sky Sports rated him a ‘4’……the same rating as Doherty, who was sent off. God help us next season….

Joint favourite with Gerrard, apparently. How would you feel if that happened? Happy for him, but absolutely gutted……

“He has great energy and going forward gets in to good positions but end product and decison-making often poor. Defensively bit too prone to a lapse in concentration. A decent player but not quite the level we need IMO.” Quoted from a Bournemouth fan. If true, he would seem a complete carbon copy of Aarons. Defensive lapses and poor decision making has been a prerequisite for Norwich signings for a good number of years. He should fit in seamlessly…..

Shane Duffy is on his way?

At least he is used to sitting on the bench, which is the only place Norwich City players enhance their reputation these days….
