1. How good? No idea........but his stats don''t half impress......
2. This looks a promising piece of business. Canos earned huge respect from the Brentford fans last season, and Redmond''s development at Carrow Road had stagnated.
3. No thanks. Seems (rightly or wrongly) to spend a lot of time in the treatment room. Allied to the fact that his goal-scoring record these past three years has been somewhat south of woeful.
4. Unfortunately, after that experience tonight, Brady is extremely unlikely to want a season in the Championship. At least Norwich can demand silly money.....
5. The number of clubs that are/will be interested in signing either player should mean the club extracting every extra £1m possible out of both deals. £20m should be the bare minimum - more so if Brady continues to shine at the Euros.
6. With Norwich City supplying three of the best players on the pitch, it really does beg the question '' how the hell did we shoot ourselves in the foot last season?''
7. I would imagine Jerome''s agent could name his price and length of contract as Norwich''s only forward option, if Jerome hadn''t signed, and ahead of any signings, would be RVW, perish the thought......
8. Twenty goals in two seasons suggests he knows where the back of the net is. I''m not sure our current crop of defenders scored many goals in the PL, so he wouldn''t have much to beat. I would guess he makes a pretty good nuisance of himself on corners and free-kicks into the box.....not something we covered ourselves in glory with last season.......
9. A player I suggested Norwich could have gambled on last summer. PL clubs starting to show interest in him. He can''t be any worse at defending than our current crop of centre-halves, but his twenty goals in two seasons puts him head and shoulders above most of them.
10. The biggest advantage for Newcastle is the number of contacts Benitez will have, particularly in Europe. Alex Neil''s stretch as far as Scotland.........
11. If Pinto is staying, and continues to improve, this is a very logical signing. If Redmond leaves it will perhaps enable AN to play a formation using wing-backs, for which Pinto/Whittaker and Olsson/Brady are more suited. Play three at the back with one central defender sweeping, and go with two up front. This will not be a season for chopping and changing formation to counteract the opposition - go for goals and go for glory.
12. AN showing worrying signs of wanting to hang on to Dorrans.......
13. Howson appears to be a popular choice, although he never comes across as captain material judged on his somewhat stilted, unimpressive media interviews.
14. "......... how are you / are yew alroight ?.........." Long pause. THE most irritating of phone calls made to Canary Call after every poor performance or dreadful result. How do you suppose the presenters feel? Do you really need to ask? Just leave it out and cut to the damn question. Rant over.
15. Hopefully. Just the type of squad member who should be shown the door. Game changer? No. Goal scorer? No. Inspiring? No. Surplus to requirements.
16. If the second-half matches the first, it will point to just one solution - .............mass cull........... Is O''Neill / Dorrans the weakest central midfield partnership in the history of the premier League?
17. It is looking odds on for a Sheff Wed v Hull play-off final, so I have included both teams for the following figures for the current season:-                                      Transfer Spend             Striker Spend                  Transfer Income              Nett SpendBurnley                                 £19m                               £14m                                 £15m                           £4mMiddlesboro                         £24m                               £16m                                   £5m                          £19mSheffield Wed                       £13m                                £8m                                   £1m                           £12m  Hull                                        £7m                                 £2m                                  £26m                        - £19m Two things stand out :- 1) The bulk of your transfer money has to go on  strikers.2) You don''t need to spend a fortune to achieve promotion.
18. If ''Gayle'' is the answer.....what is the question?
19. Would that be the same lack of class and professionalism that Norwich produced against Sunderland at Carrow Road a few weeks ago? We should not have been in the position where we were relying on other teams do do the work that we were incapable of doing ourselves.
20.
FWIW My take is that McNally has shown himself to be an emotional man,and I think this coupled with a few too many on Saturday night (after a desperately disappointing day) led him to `tweet` inadvisably. It is perhaps more revealing that Delia and Michael took the opportunity to accept his `resignation` thereby saving a considerable amount in compensation that would have been payable should they have subsequently sacked him.
This is exactly how I read the situation.McNally made an error of judgment and the board seized the moment. No twitter account and McNally would still be CEO.
21. Too many of this squad are now stigmatised with two relegations and a losing mentality. Even if a large number were retained for next season and IF, by some miracle, we secure an instant promotion, they have twice now proved themselves ''unfit for purpose'' in the Premier League, and so would have a shelf-life of 12 months at best. More importantly, AN needs to adopt a style of football that is not only easy on the eye, but produces an end product. Only a select few of the current squad should be on a contract longer than 12 months. As our forays into the foreign transfer market can be categorised as woeful, we should be looking to the Championship and below to hopefully attract the young, hungry, skilful, goal-scoring players that have the potential to make it in the Premier League in the future.
22. The players/management/fans spent far too much time kidding themselves that ''because Norwich were out of the bottom three'', there was no real concern. If Sunderland don''t win comfortably against what is currently a pi$$ poor Everton side, then the result should be investigated for a possible betting scandal.
23. Every little helps, I suppose. Having scored just one league goal all season, he would have been odds-on to score at Carrow Road on Saturday. If a team or a player is on a run that needs breaking, Norwich don''t usually disappoint........
24. Ok, a table produced with a little tongue-in- cheek, but a table, if one was needed, that exonerates AN and lays the blame for Norwich''s predicament firmly at the feet of the players.
