  1. DVDs of the first-half should be sent to all PL referees to show that it is indeed possible to award penalties to Norwich City.
  2. McGovern is currently the only change to the regular defence that last year proved itself unfit for PL purpose. AN is extremely keen to sign Olson onto a new contract, with both Olson and Pinto showing good attacking intent so far this season. Yet still the defence is leaking goals for fun and currently proving itself unfit for defensive purpose in the Championship. So roll on ten months and let''s suppose Norwich meet expectations and gain promotion.....who, from the current five incumbents, would you expect to start the opening PL fixture?
  3. He was brilliantly entertaining - shouldn''t go on that performance, though difficult to predict who will.
  4. The two Sky commentators are willing the ball into the Norwich net...
  5. Norwich''s defenders have proved themselves unfit for purpose in the PL, and are rapidly proving themselves u/f/p in the Championship. For all Klose has added in a positive way, his woeful lack of pace is still a factor. If Norwich win promotion this season, a complete overhaul of the central defenders will be required - not one of them is good enough at the highest level.
  6. The worst thing about tonight''s result is the massive lift and belief it gives Newcastle. This could be the result/game that ensures there will only be one automatic promotion place up for grabs.
  7. We have a captain...we just have no leaders on the pitch.
  8. That, unfortunately, is worth more than just three points to Newcastle.
  9. Has there been any serious injury in the second- half?
  10. How about corners? Goal-kicks? The kick-off?
  11. Just think - no goalkeeper in the world would have saved that....
  12. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Bring him back in January for the promotion run in........
  13. A huge sigh of relief that ''Steven'' wasn''t invited to Thursday night''s scrimmage.....didn''t understand one word.....
  14. Not just a couple of excellent footballers, but both give coherent and enthusiastic post-match interviews....a joy to listen to......
  15. Nobody ever selects Dorrans. I wonder why?
  16. Err......far be it for me to interrupt Ian''s pontificating, but you do realise that Chamakh hasn''t played as a target man for several years. He has been playing for CP as a secondary striker or even as a midfielder. So it is perfectly apt to compare with Andreu, albeit that Andreu is more likely to score. Anyway, if we did sign Chamakh he would be a useless addition because he is forever injured ( and way past his best...which isn''t saying much).
  17. So let''s get this right.......... The players that the fans are happy to have remained at Norwich aren''t happy to be here..... .....and the players that the fans are unhappy to be at Norwich are more than happy to still be here, whilst picking up over-inflated wages and without having to put in a decent shift come Saturday/ Tuesday..... .......that is apart from Naismith, who is probably more in tune with the fans than anyone else in the squad because he isn''t happy to be here and neither are the fans happy that he remains......
  18. Having just listened to the interview on the radio, I thought Moxey spoke very well. That doesn''t detract from the fact that we are left with a helluva lot of dead wood in the squad, have sent out useful talent on loan, and now have a set of forwards who collectively, will be unlikely to out score any other set of forwards in the Championship.
  19. So how long was it between when you first heard that Newcastle were interested in Murphy and the news that he had actually signed? 24 hours? Maybe 48 hours at most? Just amazing that a club can target a goal-scoring striker and then sign him in such a short space of time. There was me thinking that these ''striker deals'' took at least four weeks to complete.....
  20. Negredo -Stuani - Nugent - Rhodes At least Boro are giving themselves a chance of scoring goals and maintaining their PL status.
  21. So who exactly are the stand-out characters on the pitch to offer leadership when the chips are down, or who can inspire their team-mates to find a little bit extra? Martin is out of the picture and the captaincy currently lies with Howson. If his after-match interviews are anything to go by, he couldn''t inspire a lemming to jump off a cliff edge. With the squad starting to be filled with youth, it is not the best time for an apparent lack of leaders on the pitch.
  22. Jeez!....let''s not overplay the ''played for the European Champions'' card.... He''s played once for Portugal in the past 3 years. The scepticism coming from some supporters is born by how we have ended up with Oliveira. Of the many dozens of strikers suggested by posters on this site this past few months, I can''t imagine Oliveira was amongst them. The biggest frustration is the impression that the club has been working down a long list of strikers and are ending up a last minute panic buy. Since hitting the jackpot with Holt nigh on seven years ago, Norwich have an appalling record on buying strikers, with one decent Championship season from Jerome being the one and only highlight. This period has been littered with the likes of Morison, Vaughan, Becchio, Lafferty and, worst of all, RVW. The one advantage for Oliveira is that going by recent years, the striker bar isn''t set very high.......
  23. If his career goal-scoring stats won''t get any pulses racing, then his assist record will have you positively comatose......1 in 29. I bet he gets booked more often than that.......
  24. 1 in 6 is not my definition of a good goal-scoring CF. Norwich should be looking for a 20+goals-a-season striker, which is slightly better than 1 in 3. Norwich would be just as well-off throwing Lafferty into the fray, rather than trawling agents''lists in dire desperation.
