What are your Norwich city opinions or views you would die on and can’t be swayed on regardless of reason or logic.

My current one is that the board inaction in this January transfer window has potentially cost us our best chance of promotion for years to come.

From years gone by that Paul McVeigh was as important as Darren Huckerby.

That Delia & Michael became a hindrance to the club once they were unable/unwilling to spend on Farke's first promotion.

We had an exciting, young core to that squad which needed some experienced heads to help them take the next step. That we only added a reserve keeper, an injury prone full back and a forgettable cdm was basically us waving the white flag.  Giving us the chance of a couple of seasons I'm the PL would have increased the ultimate values of players like Aarons and Cantwell and would have hopefully seen us able to reinvest that and progress in a similar vein to Brighton etc.

No hand wringing from the usual suspects will ever change that.

  2. Was a poll ever done about who identifies as being in the 20% vs the 80% because I suspect Delia has severely underestimated those numbers.

Wanting whatever that percentage would be to not renew would leave a massive gap in the finances - some might say that would hasten the full takeover. Expecting that number to be replaced by other fans is a bit hopeful.

First person to spot a comment from either Chicken, Hoggy and Nutty saying something in the vein of "As expected, its busy on here tonight" gets a point.

As predictable as night following day. The other response that raised a titter was Bogsear asking where all those moaning were 4 games ago ignoring that those making those comments have been banging that drum for years.

    Enjoy your internet point!

They found it languishing towards the bottom of the second tier with bankruptcy a very real threat. We’re now disappointed at sitting 6th and have a debt that’s very manageable in comparison. We’re light years from where we were 25 years ago

25 years ago we'd not long come off of the most successful 5-6 years the club had ever had.  Under Delia's stewardship we:

    1. Dropped to the 3rd tier for the first time in about 60 years

    2. In that process, narrowly avoided going into administration

    3. Necessitated the sale of players (Maddison) to avoid administration again

    4. Are still in the position where we will rely on the sale of players, especially when parachute payments run out (still find it bizarre that the sales of our best players under Chase led to mass fan protests but under Delia its something to be seemingly celebrated)

    5. Required fan investment in a bond to rebuild the training ground/academy

    6. Required fan investment in shares to stay solvent

    7. Required fan investment in not requesting season ticket rebates to buy a player

    8. Aside from a season under Lambert and a 10 game spell under Hughton, never looked like we belonged in the Premier League

We're far from light years ahead of where we were mid to late 90's.  League position wise, pretty much the same and well below the period prior. Financially, still need to sell our best players to survive.

This board have been a joke for years. This “transition” Is also a joke. Just leave already, they literally offer nothing to Norwich City, except “supporters”

It's honestly criminal what this board have been getting away with.  The moment Farke first took us up with a strong nucleus of a side, young exciting players and spent next to nothing strengthening the side was the time for me the writing was on the wall.  The "self funding model" is simply a ruse to hoodwink fans into backing the Stowmarket Two are which many have fallen hook, line and sinker for.  If they truly had the best for the club in mind, they would have recognised their ownership is holding us back and sold up to someone who could have built on that first promotion.  Since then, its been regression.  Sales of players replaced by poor/cheaper alternatives and we're now shopping in the free transfer bin.

  6. Something more exciting than living your life posting >20k messages on an online message board.  Infrequent visitor to here but can always rely on a prompt reply from you when the rod's dangled in the water

Sounds like we're both happy then. I get to enjoy football without miserable sods bemoaning the fact we aren't Man City and you get to do...whatever it is you do instead!

    Keep whining on

Yeah I guess if you're one of those fake football fans who only cares about the prem it's a good job you didn't renew. Great decision on your part.

In the meantime we'll all enjoy singing about Johnny Rowe 😍

Would make sense if the season I didn't renew was one of the ones after we got promoted. Nice try though.

Before that, had been going since 1988, ST for many of those years since.  Subsequently disillusioned with top end football as a whole and specifically our chances of even competing with an retired cook as owner. Will catch the odd game on a stream if I've nothing better to do and look out for the results but certainly no regrets in what I've "missed out on".

    Keep clapping on.

Oh also LOL at the attention-seeking twitter posts photographing their season ticket refusing to renew unless Webber left

The Webber who signed all those new players we currently sing about 😅😅😅

    Its absolutely beautiful.

Shame that when it comes to the Premier League his record in signing players is abysmal.

Interesting to see. Few months back they sold Gyokeres to Sporting for €20 million and now they're about to sell Hamer to Sheffield United for £15 million. Both good players mind but neither with real major top flight experience..

And meanwhile we are selling Aarons who was once touted for between 20 and 30 million, has played plenty of games in the top flight and the England under 21's for whats said to be around 7 to 9 million.

    Isn't money getting funny?

And you got Will Jennings essentially giving Webber a reach around saying what an amazing job hes done over it all.  Beggars belief...

Ex-players are always of interest - and managers too for that matter.

I see Farke won 4-1 away from home last week......

While we're talking about ex-players/managers, that was Malky Mackay's Ross County.

    Thought he got cancelled.

Dislike goal music and dislike drums at matches and any attempt at orchestrating the crowd. Heck I even dislike the 321 at the beginning of matches for OTBC. Left to their own devices a crowd will soon start to think for themselves and make their own celebrations, not relying on someone else.

Spontaneity is being lost in modern life - just because the Americans add music to everything doesn't mean we have to in this country. Keep football pure......and get rid of useless technology too, while we're at it.

Been to a few German games in recent years and their way of having someone at the front orchestrating the chants with drums and megaphones works really well.  Just can't see it ever taking off at CR... for one, "17th of Juuuunnnneeeee 😴😴😴😴😴"

The guy who usually sits next to me didn't attend Saturday. It was replaced with an old-ish bloke who at half time took his t-shirt off, which was disgusting enough. He then proceeded for 10 minutes into the second half to repeatedly call our players "a bunch of useless c*nts" on repeat, until he fell asleep in his chair, drooling down his naked chest.

What I'm trying to say is, think yourself f*cking lucky!

Yup, that poor guy had to sit next to hoggy 🤣

There are too many here who think Delia has never made a bad decision, they think she is perfect when in truth as I stated before she’s done a lot the same as Chase and more!

Yes we’ve had promotions but we only got promoted because we had been relegated too, including to Lge 1, something that is conveniently forgotten!

Chase was criticised for selling the Crown Jewels to keep the banks happy, Delia did the exact same with Maddison but it’s seen as part of the so called plan, a plan that is so bad it’s unsustainable, but it’s ok for her to do it!

    Exactly this.

For me, the time it was abundantly clear her time was up was after the first Farke promotion.  We had the core of a team that with the right additions should have been perfectly capable of surviving in the PL. Instead we spend 750k on an injury prone right back and 2 poor loans with lack of funds cited as a reason.

IMO this was a huge missed opportunity and once the subsequent attitude/necessity of selling before buying (before this summer we were pretty much net zero on transfers since that first Farke PL season) ends us with us not getting promoted, we're inevitably going to find ourselves in the position where we were with Maddison.

Is anyone else finding the overwhelming emotion towards this season to be apathy?

I don't get to many games any more which obviously diminishes the excitement somewhat but the last few seasons I've been really excited about opening day. This weekend though I've not bothered to seek out the highlights, not felt the urge to post on here (lucky you guys I guess) and rather than being disappointed or frustrated by the result and performance yesterday I'm just kind of shrugging my shoulders.

I think the combination of feeling no great attachment to this squad, manager or sporting director and knowing that not going up will be failure but going up likely means another season of humiliation means I'm just not fussed.

Maybe if we get going and we're top 2 and winning games come October I'll be back on the bandwagon with enthusiasm but I'm not sure I see it.

Tbh I had that emotion for the last EFL season. Obviously excited about the first Farke promotion but after there was next to no spending on the squad it kinda cemented the level of ambition we had and what we could expect from future attempts.

Before we get into "oh but we spent money 2nd time round" net spend was still close to zero taking into account that 2 of the signings were loan to buy to replace Godfrey and Lewis (£40m of sales replaced with about £15m) and we replaced players that were fantastic for us with lots of dross.

To be honest, I haven't the first idea who, when or where our next game is and for something that used to be a huge passion, I just can't get excited about going to games any more (so I don't...) and I'm angry at those at the club that have allowed it to get to this point.
