  1. Don''t bite, Chicken. Cheap Cheap is a binner. The clue is in his name (poor pun on Budgies) and in his consistent praise of Ip5w1ch to the detriment of, cough cough, their natural superiors.
  2. Adams done nothing wrong? Shuld of brung on others and installed a wining mentality, then canaries wuld''nt of been outfoxed by shrews.
  3. Cheap Cheap wrote: "IMO i would still have preferred Lennon in charge" Or conceivably George Burley, Mick Mills or Alan Brazil, eh :-)
  4. Totally agree about people changing the context of posts, Six Pack. A favourite tactic in debates on the Pink Un. Like you, my impression is that Hooiveld has been poor. But there''s still plenty of time for him to impress me positively.
  5. That''s a Hoot! Is he: 1/ One hole short of an albatross? 2/ Heavily into masochism? 3/ Unable to stomach Pard''s suave manner? Or all of the above?
  6. Mrs Miggins, that would be my line-up as well. Particularly interested in hearing how McGrandles performs, and whether Cuellar (still) has what it takes.
  7. For me Hooiveld looked worryingly poor against both Brentford and Brum. His name means ''hay field'', though so far he''s been playing more like a field of turnips. Maybe Adams is the polar opposite of Hughton, and can only get his attackers right? BTW, note from spelling police: it''s Hooiveld (the Dutch are partial to 3 vowels in a row).
  8. 3-0 to us. Jerome, Hooiveld, and Vladis the Impaler.
  9. Nice try, Waveney. Under Lambert, Surman got injured in training soon after signing and was out for weeks.
  10. Good atmosphere throughout the ground and stewards friendly and helpful - bit of a change from some of the grounds in the Prem.
  11. You''re right, YOTT, so their position may be a bit flattering. Also their captain, Chris Cohen, has just done his Achilles and is now out for the season.
  12. Beat me to it, Ricardo! Highland may of course have electoral concerns on the agenda today.
  13. Next year Miquel may well play more, but can''t see him playing this season except in cups or to cover injuries. Could well prove an astute signing, but one for the longer term.
  14. Turner is our best central defender, vastly experienced, generally a calming influence, and "knows" this division inside out. Successful defences generally have quite a lot of experience in them, and Turner has plenty. It is frankly ludicrous to suggest that he will be dropped for Miquel. Not belittling the Spaniard''s abilities, but he barely played a full game for Arsenal when there, and played only a handful of games for Leicester last season on loan. He is handy back-up, especially with Ryan Bennett out.
  15. Went to the game and was very impressed by the Brentford team first half. They finished the first half stronger than us and played very high tempo. But their high-tempo game had to fade, and the floodgates opened after Tettey''s opener. Brentford look far too good to get anywhere near relegation. But if they were in 8th before tonight, how good are we? Overheard a group of disgruntled Brentford fans afterwards saying how sick they were at being beaten by a "long-ball side". Not exactly true (Wes), but it does show we can really mix it up and hit the channels with pace now. Ruddy and Jerome outstanding.
  16. If we''re having Biggins on the subs bench, surely there must be room for Beckford or Coney?
  17. If that was the game I think it was, City1st, that "boisterousness" was the best of a black day. Effffing Brian Talbot.
  18. If we push the boat out, we might get McNamee and then try him as an inverted winger.
  19. "believe what you like i have no reason to make this up" Job done - that got you through my computer''s integrity scanner.
  20. Something not right about him for a good season or so, and goes missing more than a Bermudan seaplane or Ronnie Biggs. You''ll do well to keep his feverish tattooed fingers off the social media pulse.
