The chances of bouncing straight back to the PL
Alejandra replied to Curious Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think we will go up again this year and be more successful under a second stint in the prem with Alex -
Canos and Naismith.
Alejandra replied to lake district canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Canos will be back in the line up soon enough i think but Naismith won''tI have a 6th sense about that... Because we are now back on championship money we just cant afford him, I bet he is the best paid plus gets bonus''s per game played and bonus''s per assist and every other stupid thing going, Sunderland couldn''t even match what we pay him! It probably works out cheaper just to not play the guy and get rid in January, I''m not a fan of him anyway, so adios :) -
Ruddy Klose Bennett Pinto Olsson Tettey Howson Canos Pritchard Hoolahan OliveiraSubstitutes:GK - McGovernRB - MartinD - BassongM - MulumbuLB/LM - BradyRM - Jacob MurphyF - Jerome I really can''t stand Naismith, so if you are reading this Steven, yeah that''s right, you''re not even getting on the bench but anyway, what do I know about football [8-)]

I''m basing my reply on two things hereWe are no longer a premiership teamWe are not bank rolled by a rich chairmanwith this in mind I don''t think we''ve done too badly in this window? Why does it matter if we don''t get a deadline deal done, push on with what we''ve got and look at this things in december/januarySergi Canos looks a cracking young player costing 2.5 million, he''d walk into any other championship sideMichael McGovern looks a safe goalkeeper as a back up and doing OK in the first team, and a free to bootAlex Pritchard well we saw him tear teams apart with Brentford, once he''s in the starting line up I''m expecting great things from this one, was he around 8 Million ? he would also walk into any championship sideNelson Oliveira - Forest fans loved him, hoping he can do the business for us, about 5 Million ?15/16 million spent in one transfer window. I''m happy with that. Forget about Aston Villa, they have a luxury of a rich owner who can bail them out if their ambitious aim to buy a whole new first time doesn''t work out, we don''t

you can''t compete with prem sides unfortunately
-
I''m hoping this guy is what we are looking forWe''ve missed a leader upfront since Grant Holt unfortunately, I read somewhere that the forest fans thought he was a great player

That Brighton manager has done okay.
Absolutely hated his style of football, but player to player signings I much prefer the signings we got under Hughton than what we are getting under Alex NeilHe made a howler with RVW but the rest, Olsson, Redmond, and the players he tried his best to sign like for instance toby alderweireld etc you could see what he was trying to do and had he pulled those players out the bag I do think it would have been a lot different, but you can''t dwell on what didn''t happen.Under Alex Neil has there even been 1 inspired signing? maybe the one guy who hasn''t played yet....... Pritchard, but time will tell if he is a hype job, or he is the real deal, because basically we wont know until he gets games in a city shirt. I don''t even rate Klose as high as a lot of people seem to, especially now knowing forwards know they call bully himIts a funny game, football [:)]
It is not a fair comparison. Hughton had Premier League money and Premier League allure for his two seasons. Neil has only had that for one. And if we are including players Hughton tried and failed to buy then we have to credit Neil with the high-value centre-half (Koulibaly?) we just missed out on this time last year, and McCormack now.
No and No. There is a big difference between wanting a player and actually having a fee agreed for a player. We agreed a fee to talk to Toby but he turned us down.We didn''t even get into official negotiations with Koulibaly/Mccormack as we never had bids accepted for them. Only Aston Villa had an accepted bid, so that''s why I didn''t mention those. You can''t be close to signing players if two clubs don''t even agree on a transfer fee. We wanted them both, sure, and put bids on both, of that I have no doubt, but we weren''t even remotely close on signing those two players. Don''t fall for media spin [:)]

what was it that he wrote?

He''s a good squad player. But a 7.5 million pound player he is definitely not

cant comment how good they are but i looked at last season strikers who are under 30 years oldZach CloughNahki WellsJon Kodijathink id rather take a punt on one of those, they have a lovely thing called youth behind them too albeit Kodija/Wells being the oldest at 26, Clough much younger -
unless they do great away day deals next season cant see myself going to any :( student

Starting 11 for Swansea away...

The ignorance to keep him there when he''s probably the worst centre back in the PL will be one of a reasons this season we get related
Ryan Bennett? Yes, you are right.
Ryan Bennett is a better centre back than Martin I''d recomend re-watching the Liverpool/Newcastle games again if you want to see how good Martin is in that position He is a handy right back, but he''s a terrible centre back in this league -
now I know the squad 3-1 Swansea

soon as i found out martin will be at CB in a flat back 4 = Game over The ignorance to keep him there when he''s probably the worst centre back in the PL will be one of a reasons this season we get related -
right call*
There was a classic situation with Tettey when Coutinho had a free shot against Ruddy. The commentator on MOTD asked what on Earth Tettey thought he was doing, why didn''t he move towards Coutinho to try & close him down. To me it was obvious that Tettey was not going to get close enough to Coutinho in time, & he was covering Ings, who would have had a completely open goal (Ruddy being occupied with Coutinho on the other side of the goal) if he had slipped the ball through to him instead of shooting. We all see the game differently.
I thought Tettey made the right cool too! otherwise like you say, a simple tap in from Ings

Johnson thanks City fans
Alejandra replied to DEB (never forgotten)'s topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
There is nothing worse than tarnishing a players reputation purely based on rumours, which 99.9% of stuff posted on twitter etc is absolute rubbish. Until it''s confirmed, I don''t believe a word of it, so I am thankful stuff like that is being deleted by who-ever the mod is Thanks for the amazing 14-15 season Mr Johnson, i''d rather you were here, but I guess management looked at what they wanted this season, saw either A) a bit part player for this season B) 7.5 Million (potentially) As long as we are above the bottom 3 in January and spend it wisely this time, I will be less unhappy. But for the moment I am very saddened he has left -
This squad vs. 2 seasons ago
Alejandra replied to SeattleCanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
With the transfer window now shut, and some of the players having left we can properly reflect on what was deemed 2 years a go as the best squad to date. Despite keeping the nucleus of the squad together last summer, have we got a better squad this season than 2 seasons ago? I mean judging players on their merits and form at the time (for example its no good looking at Pilks now and saying he is too injury prone or not up to the Prem) as everything has to be relevant to the time period. 2013/2014 squad: 1 John Ruddy 2 Russell Martin (club captain) 3 Steven Whittaker 4 Bradley Johnson 5 Sébastien Bassong (captain) 6 Michael Turner 7 Robert Snodgrass 8 Jonny Howson 9 Ricky van Wolfswinkel 10 Leroy Fer 11 Gary Hooper 12 Anthony Pilkington 13 Mark Bunn 14 Wes Hoolahan 15 Jonás Gutiérrez 16 Johan Elmander 17 Elliott Bennett 18 Javier Garrido 19 Luciano Becchio 20 Carlo Nash 22 Nathan Redmond 23 Martin Olsson 24 Ryan Bennett 25 David Fox 26 Joseph Yobo 27 Alexander Tettey 31 Josh Murphy As of today for this season: 1 John Ruddy 2 Steven Whittaker 3 Andre Wisdom 5 Russell Martin 6 Sébastien Bassong 7 Lewis Grabban 8 Jonny Howson 10 Cameron Jerome 11 Gary Hooper 12 Robbie Brady 13 Declan Rudd 14 Wes Hoolahan 15 Harry Toffolo 17 Elliott Bennett 18 Graham Dorrans 22 Nathan Redmond 24 Ryan Bennett 27 Alexander Tettey 28 Gary O''Neil #? Mbokani #? Jarvis Loans out this window: (eight) Remi Matthews Carlton Morris Jacob Murphy Josh Murphy Michael Turner Ricky van Wolfswinkel VOO Andreu Released and sold this window: (eight/two) Luciano Becchio Mark Bunn Kyle Callan-McFadden Carlos Cuéllar Javier Garrido Sam Kelly Ignasi Miquel --------------------------------------- Cameron McGeehan Bradders Its been a pretty awful window, most of us agree on that. Is this team stronger or weaker than the relegated team of 2 seasons ago bearing in mind of players ability and expectation at the start of that 3rd straight season in the Prem? I think we have a weaker squad with less harmony, but a better manager now. If not for AN, I''d almost say we are nailed on for relegation. At least with him we have a hope, but I think the squad is much weaker with less quality. Thoughts?
Last time i checked Martin Olsson was still our player :) -
Still stronger than ever.

VOO and Andreu out on loan
Alejandra replied to Branston Pickle's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I''m not one to usually moan, but I''m really worried with whats going on behind the scenes @ the club Selling out POTS to a CHAMPIONSHIP club ? What happened to FFP in that league? Loaning out another 2 midfielders ? But the one player we don''t want to see any more because of his antics gets to stay.... Something doesn''t seem quite right at NCFC :( -
Alex Neil's man-management skills
Alejandra replied to unique's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I was hoping he was going to be more harsh to the press about Lewis, but alas, silly boy will do :P -
What about that huge guy at wolves who was their captain when they beat Norwich opening game of season, I thought he looked good, he''s also young and he was built like a proper centre half and to be a captain there has to be something about him, that was just a name thrown out there by the way, i wont admit to knowing if they''d be any good, that''s what the manager and scouts are paid for. But what I am saying here is I refuse to believe there are not players better than what we''ve already got, just needs smart scouting because from the sounds of it then we wont be signing an established premier league/international defender any time soon due to wages etc We did alight last time using this philosophy under Lambert, young hungry players who stepped it up, maybe people/the club think we are too good for this approach now though
-
My only worry is say Bassong gets injured...... Would you be confident in Martin/Bennett or Martin/Turner in the premier league against world class opposition No me neither

The irony of the link on the pinkun that Grabban could be the missing link, yeah, literally! Anyway despite his stupidity woohoo!!! winning :)
