Really, I think he’s looked quite sharp in our recent games. I agree with you with regard to his first few games but he hasn’t played for months so fitness may have been an issue. I’d much prefer Hwang in the side than Idah and maybe Barnes too when Sargent comes back.

DM is a must.
-
Would you buy Hwang either in January or at the end of the season for the right price? I think he’s quite good and improving so well worth a gamble. What do you think?
-
I think we should be bold and go and get Cooper now he’s left Forest. He’s a great coach, proven track record and more of a long term solution.
What do you think?

What has Iwan Roberts been saying about our team? I only saw the first paragraph 😉

Don’t forget the Lampard teams were renown for not being able to defend which is the area we need the most help. I’ll be phenomenally disappointed if Lampard is appointed.

We have that South American player Lima as well don’t we?

Unfortunately we ended up with one lung one footed McLean. 😩

A very worrying run. Leeds, Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Blackburn. I don’t see too many points coming any time soon. Bit of a worry unless problems are sorted soon.
-
The reason our team is failing as we have no protection for the back four. The back four can only defend so far, they need protection. Kenny has never been good enough as a DM. Sara is an excellent player but needs to play further up the pitch.
The forward line has the inability to hold the ball up to take the pressure off the back four since Sargent and Barnes got injured.Fitness - our players seem to be exhausted after about 70 mins hence the constant second half onslaughts recently. I thought we were going to be the fittest team in the league?
We have a lot of problems that need fixing quickly or we’re in for a lower half finish this season.

He was on a big losing run with QPR before he jumped ship. I don’t see him as a good manager. A good talker maybe. 🤔

Anyone know why Sainz came off after 26 mins today?

Sainz will become the second striker once he’s fit.

I’ve just seen the highlights of the match and Gunn was to blame directly for the fourth goal. The shot was virtually at the centre of the goal. Very poor.

Just to show how nonsense this thread is.
There’s more to keeping than shot stopping. What about commanding the penalty area,, communicating with the back 4, distribution.
For me he doesn’t command the area and give the back 4 confidence to be a top keeper.

Just now, nutty nigel said:I don't doubt that's true. So why start him yesterday?
We didn’t have a lot of choice if Wagner wanted to play two up front.

Hwang’s not fit so we won’t see the best of him for several games yet.

Hwang was knackered after 20 minutes. Must be one of the unfittest Koreans I ever seen, but then he is 31...
If you look at his career he hasn’t played much over the last couple of years so I’m not surprised he’s knackered.
-
Definitely not. He can’t get in the Portsmouth team so he’s got no chance at Norwich. He’ll benefit get more from a year or two away on loan.
-
I’ve never rated Gunn. I would have quite easily sold him after his good run for Scotland. He’s not that good and he’s on a large wage.
Whether we kept Krul or sold both is a moot point. Probably the former and get a new keeper in.

Apparently Plymouth just ran through our midfield and then through our defence over and over. That points to the core of our team and Kenny is one.
Kenny has been guilty of not tackling being too slow etc. before and he needs someone far more mobile along side him. Sara isn’t that person.
Sara needs to play in the Steipermann role further up the pitch to protect our midfield and defence. Forshaw can come in to stiffen up the midfield.

Exactly. When the fringe players are needed for The Championship they won’t be so rusty so I see a decent cup run as essential. Plus we can blood some young players. It worked wonders for Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

Jordan Rhodes has just been released by Huddersfield and gone to Blackpool. He was a good fit for City and went down well here If we are to go for even more oldies that would make him a better bet than Sharp, imo.
I would hope, however, that Forshaw is the last of the signings of players who have passed their thirtieth.
The problem with Rhodes is he’s not very different to Barnes whereas a Billy Sharp type is. Diversification is key.

He's now our sixth choice in central midfield, third choice at right back and possibly even fourth choice at left back.
Sorensen can cover at full back as well so a useful player to have in the squad. Maybe ship McCallum out on loan or sell?

Good point. Assuming he gets the all clear, I can imagine Forest wanting to get him off the books sharpish for the next 30 signings they’re going to make and might want to cut their losses. There could be a nice freebee there which will free up a loan spot for whatever other position needs strengthening.
