I liked Fox in the Championship, but I cannot forget his display against the mighty Luton!
Ah yes, nice to see that one poor display from a guy who hadn''t had a regular game in months is enough to cancel out the seasons of great play and excellent service he''d already given us...There really is no logic to some posters...
I''m a season ticket older and I was amazed Fox got third in POTY last year. Fox is too lightweight, too slow in the pass and generally did nothing with the ball. Yes he is a good deliverer of the ball and yes he can pass sideways. Is he creative in OpenPlay? Does he score his fair share of goals? Does he have the required defensive qualities to complement the needed requirements of a modern day player? For me he''s one of these players who flatters to decieve. We have enough players in the team already,(Hoolahan being another) who flatter.. But where Hoolahan is different is we currently don''t have anyone better. I think rose tinted glasses are used by Fox supporters. He''s a decent championship player at best and that can be said for half our squad. Hughton will address this in the summer.
Makes no difference if your a season ticket holder or not, everyone has his or her opinion, and I am a season ticket holder too, but for the record I can''t remember any match that Fox has played in that he has not given his all.
The season ticket holder point I made is valid as it means I have seen him play a lot so therefore there is a bit of substance to my opinion.  This doesn''t mean that you have your views and you can qualify this as you attend each week as well.  My view is he seems to get great PR based on not a lot.I have never said that Fox doesn''t try, or that he''s not a nice guy etc etc.  In my view Fox is just not good enough at this level and was extremely luckly to come third in the last POTY.

Midfield clear out ready for Winkel
Before you go on the Attack yes I was at the Stoke game yesterday and only missed 3 away games ''league that is.

You all praise up our Midfield like they''re Barcelona in Disguise and frankly Snodgrass on his day is the only one worth keeping IMO.

Our midfield basically without a major clear out and new payers to come in will have a devastating effect upon the way Winkel performs next season, and I ain''t talking about someone who''s full of running I''m talking a player that can change games just like that.

Howson out, Johnson out ,kamara is just a lol, and pilks is good every 10 games and that''s it, Wes''s best games are behind him.
You forgot Fox and Surman in the clear out.
  4. Jersey Canary

Chris Hughton out, yes or no?
I''ve read very contrasting opinions on his future this afternoon, so let''s see who actually wants him to stay or go.

I think he should stay, hopefully come the summer he will be given a decent amount of money to improve our squad...
I agree. Hughton stays and see what the transfer window brings.

Let's get some Reading FC players?

I wouldn''t touch the Reading players. We have better players already.

    Ruddy or Bunn v Stoke?

    If fit then Ruddy.

    The Clear Out To Begin
In:

    LB: Olsson

    CD: Davies

    CM: Huddlestone

LM: Pacey left footed winger (Townsend?Beausejour?)

    CF: Hooper

    Sign up Kamara and Garrido

    Out:

    Ward

    Barnett

    Tierney

    Surman

    Fox

    Becchio

    Martin

    Vaughan

    Possibly Jackson and Ayala

Shame to see some of them go, but we need to strengthen the squad and the 25-man squad rule means we have to let a few go.

Love the idea of RVW, Hooper, Holt and Kamara as our strike force!
You''re In''s are exactly what I was thinking.

    The Clear Out To Begin
Jersey, you reckno we''ll sigh 3 forwards, an attacking midfielder, two wingers, two central midfielders, a full back AND a centre back all in the summer?!

Are you out of your mind?!

Kamara will sign. Becchio is on a three year deal and will stay, Holt is still valued here. Yes he''s been off the boil lately but as yesterday showed, he''s still a massive leader for the team.

The only strikers to leave will be C Martin and Vaughan, unless Hughton has decided he see''s potential in either of them from their loan periods

Surman has quality, and would be worth keeping, he''s been unfortunate with injury. I wouldn''t even be surprised if we keep one of Fox or Korey Smith too, they would be great back-up for our main midfielders.

Camp is only here ''til the end of the season, and I expect that to remain the same. With Rudd slipping into the age where he counts as a player, it would be worth including him instead of a third keeper from outside the club.

I think people who think we''re going to sell half our squad and bring in around 10 new players are deluded. You can''t kill the atmosphere in the squad, you have to change the squad carefully and slowly over time. Too many arrivals will deter the dressing room closeness, and affect performances.
Last season we brought in, Bunn, Camp, Garrido, Turner, Bassong, Butterfield, Kamara, Becchio, Tettey,Whittaker, and that makes 10 in my book, so why not 8 for next season when our budget will be considerable compared to any other season? Plus we will get in some money for the players deemed surplus.

Wigan or Villa to go down

Two reasons why I want to see Villa go down , 1) pretty obvious, Lambert etc etc. 2) and most important, we need 3 teams to be worse than us next season and I think we stand a better chance of being above Wigan than Villa who will invest and improve. So Villa for me.

    The Clear Out To Begin

    Keeper for next season:

    Ruddy, Bunn

    FB:

    Martin, Whittaker, Garrido +1

    CB

Bassong, Turner, Bennett + 1 (Davies)

    Wingers

    Pilks, Snoddy , Bennett + 2

    CM

    Tettey, Johnson, Howson + 2

    AM

    Hoolahan + 1

    Forwards

    RVW, + 3

So by my rekoning the following will be sold or released:

Martin, Fox, Surman, Smith, Ward, Barnett, Camp, Jackson, Holt, Kamara, Becchio, Tierney, Vaughan, Francombe

    The following will be loaned:

Ayala, Steer, Rudd, Adiyemi, Butterfield, The Murphy''s

If we can raise £4m from the sales then that will pay for Davies so that just leaves £50m to be spent on the rest of the squad.
  11. Jersey Canary

    Ruddy

If Hughton was looking for an out for Bunn then letting the goal in yesterday was the ideal opportunity to get Ruddy back in the team then yesterday was it.

Stoke are going to pump balls into our box for fun and we need a commanding keeper. Remember what happened to Bunn at West Ham?
  12. Jersey Canary

Kei Karama - Verdict, would you sign?

No.  Spend the money on someone else.

    Norwich vs. Reading predictions

We need to play high temp pressing game and we''ll win easily. If we play this slow tempo lethargic football I thnk we''ll draw and deserve to be relegated.
  14. Even if he never plays for Norwich we will have got a bargain that we can sell or loan for a season until we get promoted. But this is all academic IMO ad we will beat Reading and pick up the other ponts needed over the last few games.

    Handball!

To be fair I didn''t see it first or second time only on umpteenth reply.

Goal vs Forest. Handball, shame! Lol

Arsenal - our "turn around" team?

    Er no! Nice thought though!

    Bennett's quote on SS
Did you get to the Everton game?
Yes I did thanks. Throwing caution to the wind, anything can happen, but that is not sustainable over 90 mins.

  19. Jersey Canary

    Johnson and Howson

Howson needs to play as an attacking midfielder or in the Hoolahan role, the current position is like asking Cazorla to play defensive midfield. I know he''s not as good as Cazorla but you get my point, a move like that won''t make him look too sharp neither.

    Bennett's quote on SS
So why did he not set up 4-4-2 at the outset?
Because we get a hiding every time we play 442.

    Bennett's quote on SS

Possibly but either way it doesn''t give he positive vibes the fans are wanting to hear.

    Hughton - Pro's v Con's list

I don''t think injuries have helped. Ruddy is a big miss as is Pilks. Whittaker started to show promise and then got injured again. All in all we would have been safe had these players been available more. Ref. my Ruddy post.

    Bennett's quote on SS

I''ve been quite positive during the last few weeks but this statement today to the alarm bells ringing. There will be uproar if we do go down.

I really really hope we beat Reading as I wouldn''t want to play Villa still needing a win.
  25. Jersey Canary

    Bennett's quote on SS

"If we draw our last 6 games we''ll have 41 points and that''ll probably be enough."

The fact that we have to play Arsenal and Man City away puts a big spanner in the works. I am worried that the draw mentality has manifested in our dressing room and complacency has set in. If that is the case we are in real danger of relegation.
