1.
Juge - your "just a bit of passion" examples never slagged off a football team and then signed for them. Bellamy didn''t, Huckerby didn''t and Savage didn''t....because they had too much respect for the fans and they realised that stranger things have happened, and they''d burn their boats if they did ever want to join that team. So to conclude, we all enjoy a bit of passion, but how do you think Colwho fans will think about him after he would "NEVER" join Norwich....and now may well be? Probably as well as NCFC fans will to him signing. Apart from you of course Juge
I genuinely wouldn''t give a toss as long as he was good enough on the field. This is football, its a nasty game, if we signed all the nice guys we would be crap.We tried that before, the nice guy approach, remember? And now we have Grant Holt, Chris Martin, Paul Lambert, David McNally absolutely ruthless bastards when it comes to football and the opposition. And I love them for it.
 2. Don''t let Drury''s legendary status get in the way of rationale thought. He is a great left back. but if he can''t manage any more than half a games a year then we need another good left back. Only, that other good left back has to be fit and able.Smith has shown that he is not physically capable of providing adequate competition or cover to Adam Drury. Therefore, we need somebody that can. If Drury and Smith are all that we need at the club, then why the hell are we playing Simon Lappin at left back?
 3. It should perhaps also be noted that Tierney is a friend of Grant Holt.Any friend of Grant Holt is welcome at City. They both play with their hearts on their sleeves too.Everybody automatically assumes that he will be competing for the left back spot, nobody seems to have acknowledged that:a) Tierney can play at centre back (he is 6 foot by the way)b) Tierney can play left midfieldc) Steven Smith can play left midfield. We also have no idea just how bad Steven Smiths injury problems are percieved to be. He was a massively injury prone player before arriving, and is still injury prone now. If that doesn''t look like a problem which will go away, which it probably won''t, he may as well leave the club with Zak Whitbread. To be honest, I have to question Lambert''s judgement with signing injury prone players. Do the club have the right medical people in? These people have to pass medicals before getting a contract, at least they usually do.If we had Tierney, Smith and Drury, Tierney would still get more game time than the other two. It has been four or five years since EITHER of those two have had an injury free season. Tierney played 41 games last year, 44 the year before, 43 the year before that. Sounds like just the player for us.Sign him up.
 4.
He''d have to do a lot to win me over after his comments AND he''d have to alude to it in his press conference using the terms "I was a dick" and "obviously it was tongue in cheek". And if he doesn''t and no journo mentions it, I''ll drive down myself and ask him!
Don''t be silly, it''s just a bit of passion. We love players like that on our side. We loved Bellamy, we loved Huckerby, if we had Robbie Savage we would love him too.I guarentee that he would become a fans favourite within about 6 weeks.
 5. I agree with that. This club is a sleeping giant, that needs somebody to awaken it. McNally sees that, we owe it all to McNally. I was 100% certain that Lambert sees that too, although I have no shame in admitting that I cannot be 100% sure now. I will add to your analogy, that if a relationship ends you simply pick yourself up and move on as quickly as possible. Often you will move on to bigger and better things, you find another relationship.
 6.
Well Jamie must be enjoying life down there as i belive when we were in league 1 we did not give him much of an oppertuinity to prove himself as a first team player. Allthough, I felt he underpreformed for us when he did play but he loves the club as he said he really would like to stay or at least say goodbye to the supporters. When he left I thought it was the best decision for both the club and Jamie. He was a big player when Peter Grant brought him in to the club but it did not work out even though he got 20 goals for a club who struggled in the championship and 16 for us when we were down there, his wages would have been fairly high for a fringe player and he wanted first team football. But it is nice to know he is doing well at Exeter and for someone who respects the club like Jamie does, I wish Jamie all the best
How does it feel to spend £25m on a striker, only for Danny Welbeck to out-score him? lol.
 7.
newyorkcanary can I wish you all the best and I hope you reach the $10,000 dollar mark and more I really do. However in these hard times I honestly don''t believe that this will be the best way for me to support the fight against cancer. I don''t see why my bank should profit from such a transaction. So instead I will donate some money to CancerResearchUK in your wife''s name. Davo
How would your bank profit from this? Is there a transaction fee?I''m only asking because I too prefer to pay nothing to the banks. How are you going to go about donating to CancerResearch? In a collection tin? Because if you use Just Giving they take a big chunk for themselves! Charity is big business it seems!
 8. 9 goals in 20 games for an average League One side. I am willing to put my hands up and admit that he has proved me wrong, but only proving that he has enough left for a season or two in the lower leagues. I thought that he would fail miserably, like he did out on loan.He still wasn''t anywhere near good enough for us, and I don''t agree with the way he went about things when he left, but good luck to him.For a 35 year old to be on course for 18-20 goals this year is a great achievement. He deserves at least a little credit for that.
 9.
Cheers guys.Won''t he just end up as a third choicer if he goes to the Prem?
Plenty of keepers seem willing to do this, I guess that there is only really room for 92 regular professional keepers in the country. The other 184+ have to sit around waiting for an injury or a Theoklitis.
 10.
30% of any PROFIT
This one rings true with me, I could have sworn it was 30% of any profit. But then, I could have been closest to you in the great big game of Chinese whispers that life sometimes seems to be!
 11.
he must of played back here at some point.... surely with newcastle
The only time that I can remember is his brief substitute appearance for us, against Celtic in the Tim Shepperd testimonial. Great game that, and atmosphere, can''t believe that there were only 18000 there for that (5000 of which were Celtic).
 12. Nobody said that, you have seen a 7 month old thread called ''Doherty Released'' and assumed that somebody has said that, so rather than insinuating that somebody else is an idiot..... you may wish to take a look in the mirror.

 15. Good news, but old news also.... was posted yesterday ;)Easier than normal to get pushed down the boards though, of course, so you are not at fault for that.
 16. Dean Ashton was playing in The Championship in the season that we signed him, he had one and a half a seasons in that season before he justified a £3.5m price tag.In my opinion any proven League One striker is a gamble when moving up a division, and so I wouldn''t pay anymore than £1m for a player from that level. And that includes Grant Holt, who has now doubled his value.Ashton had scored 17 goals in 23 league games in the half a season before being bought by Norwich in 2004/2005, he scored 19 in 43 the year before that, in a struggling team.If Ashton was worth £3.5m after that, then I would say that Austin is worth £1.5m max - and half a million of that is purely because he is a big man, and you pay a premium for a big man these days.It is League One, afterall, we have seen with our own eyes how poor that division is. Jamie Cureton has scored a goal every 2 games this season in League One, does that mean that we should give him another pop at The Championship?I would have Austin, good player, but not for £2m. There are other good strikers in that league, Hull just signed Aaron Mclean for £1m, and that is a striker who has played a season of Championship football.
 17. Yes and it still isn''t clear whether Norwich City Kitty presented the funds to the board of Norwich City Football Club or not. Unless that has now been confirmed, in which case I would be grateful if somebody could point me in the direction of the evidence.
 18. Almost as pathetic as a one word post.
 19. That really makes you realise just how much a million is!And no, it won''t work. If I give £50 to the club, I want something in return. Like a limited edition shirt, or a share. There are over £1m worth of unissued shares left in the club, if you want to buy some all you have to do is phone the club and ask to buy some. If I had money to give away, I would do that. Because whilst we all love this football club, it is quick to tell everybody that it is a business. And that means that it is not a charity.I would sooner people donate to Foncy, or the supporters club, or the Huckerby trust.
 20.
There are so many great things about being a Norwich fan and so much to be proud of, not least the last season and a half, but sometimes some of you let yourselves down... Some of you need a cyberspace slap in the face! You know we have a fantastic manager, he''s done an amazing job for us in the short time he''s been with us. Clearly he is going to be at the top of many clubs wish list when they need a new manager. This has been the first real bit of turbulance we''ve experienced and has had most of you running for the toilet! I came on here earlier today and read posts in which people were seriously debating who we should go for as a new manager. These people were then calling the more sane posters who questined what the hell they were talking about as being ''naive''!! Hello? We''ve also had the hypocracy of Norwich fans being outraged at the possibility that a club could do to us what we did to Colchester. But the most laughable thing of all is that you truly entertained the idea that Lambert would agree to go to Burnley! So, those of you who immediateley said ''the damage has already been done''... do you really stand by that now... do you really think we are in a weaker position, because clearly we are not. And those of you saying that Lambert was playing games and should have stamped on the speculation straight away... you should take a look at yourselves. The board''s statement said that they value Lambert and his team and want to keep them at the club. Lambert, who has siad many times that he loves it here, then went into a press conference in which he wanted to talk about the FA cup game, and simply said that he was very happy with the club''s statement... So, where did all the hysteria come from?? He said that he was happy with the club''s statement, which said that the club wanted him to stay. It''s simple, 1+1 = 2. The only issue today has been that most of you chose not to believe him. Now a lot of you are being cynical in saying that he''s been lining his pockets or putting himself in the shop window, and people are holding the whole saga up as an example of what''s wrong with modern football. But no, the fans are the ones not taking a man for his word, and possibly damaging the manager''s feelings towards the club with their hysterical over-reactions and accusations. If Lambert''s career with Norwich continues to be so successful, as we all hope it will, this situation is clearly going to happen again, and the waters are going to get much more choppy than Burnley. Next time, please leave your computers for a while or at least sit on your hands and give it some time... You''ve written so many times that you have faith in Lambert... he has faith in us, not many of you have shown much faith in him today.
So what your basically saying is "I told you so" despite the fact that at no stage did you "tell us so". Chances are that you too were cynical about the situation, and if you weren''t then you were in a very small minority. Agreeing with the club statement did not make sense, that is where the confusion lie. What was needed was Lambert to categorically state that he wasn''t going to Burnley, he made the decision not to. There was a fully justified worry amongst fans and journalists. The bookies believed that he was leaving, the media believed that he was going. If you did not for one second sit and ponder the possibility that he may have been about to leave then I am afraid that it is you who is the oddball.

Oooo, aren''t you a bigger fan than me..... because I don''t attend all 46 League Games and each FA Cup and League Cup game every year. If you must know, I have been laid low with a cold for the past week, like many people. Watching our Youth Team against some tinpot team in a half empty stadium didn''t appeal to me. I would be happy to show you my collection of 14 season tickets from the past 18 years, my staff pass for 2001-2005, and my massive pile of ticket stubs which mostly say "Cureton" on them, if that floats your boat. Then you can be known as a Canary ''Superfan'' and I will continue to miss pointless games in competitions which we continually underperform in, thanks.I don''t need you to judge me like that, where the f*ck was everybody else at Elland Road last season, watching it in the comfort of their own homes on Sky no doubt. Poor turn out there, 1000 maximum, for a tie like that. Where you one of them? Well, were you?
I don''t claim to be a bigger fan than you but, like you, I also have a season ticket but I do know how to find out ticket prices .  Just surprised you needed to come on here to ask that question when you could just look on the club website.
I didn''t come on here to find that out, I was already on here; I decided to go after another poster started a thread telling everybody to go. It was the easy way, lazy yes, but it worked didn''t it?
 22.
Kenny Miller just went from Rangers to Birmingham for 600k, I know which one I''d prefer. I know it''s different, and I do like Jackson, but that seems a little odd.
There is nothing odd about it. The fee is actually £700k, and the offer has not been accepted by Rangers. It has been accepted by Lloyds Banking Group, who choose which offers to accept or reject. His contract expires in May too. Took me 30 seconds to find that out on Google News.

 25.

Herman, I think this is another of those daft posts today as the situation (or sit-u-ay-shun as Nigel used to say) is taking it''s toll on everyone who''s been online for the last few hours.I like mint sauce and redcurrant jelly as well as gravy
[:D] I know he''s trying to lighten the mood, but it''s starting to wear me down.Oh to be forum moderator for ten minutes!
I''m not normally this idiotic, I apologise. And WITS is quite right, I am trying desperately to find my sense of humour amongst the misery and stress which this uncertainty has brought. I apologise for failing miserable in those attempts, it is hard to be funny when you can''t smile. Personally I would be absolutely devestated if Lambert leaves, but no forum thread is going to influence that.I have been reading this forum for years, never bothered to sign up. That is how distressing today has been for me, just like it has been for others.
