Club before country for me to but for people to tar the England side along side the group of big time charlies we''ve had in the English squad since the mid 90s is pathetic. We should be proud of our nation,if you are not than bugger off abroad. Spoilt brats IMO.
Ignorant old fool. I couldn''t give two sh*tes about England players, England supporters, and didn''t even bother to watch the game. I''d happily say it to your face, or to your halfwit nephews face. This is a Norwich City forum, not an England forum. Ipswich fans are not welcome, Leeds fans are not welcome, but your saying that we all have to support England? Tell you what mate, send me an England shirt, I''ll wipe my bottom on it and donate £200 to the charity of your choice.

I will never go to a game, so for me, it''s just like watching Man Utd, Chelsea etc, just a game on TV played hundreds of miles away! Give me any NCFC game and I''d take that over seeing England vs Brazil at Wembley. Plus, how can you be ''proud'' after that shower in South Africa last year?
So, England reach the final of the next World Cup. Will you watch it?
I suspect he would watch the World Cup final irrespective of who is in it.
 3.
Well done Morison. What a couple of tits the England haters. Unbelievable.
I know that your a staunch BNP voter Arthur, with that whiter than white, pure English blood only mentality, but not every Norwich City fan is an English thoroughbred. I happen to be just as much Welsh and Irish as I am English. I can support whoever the hell I want to, and just so happen to not care less about International football. I''m a Norwich based Norwich City fan on a Norwich City forum, that doesn''t mean that I have to support England. If you want that level of patriotism then why not p*ss off to an England forum or a BNP forum yourself. We have fans from all over the world, and people from Hong Kong and Scandinavia using this board. You support a team with Scottish, Welsh, American, Canadian, Belgian, Spanish, and English players. Get over yourself. If Norwich had an England player in the squad I would want him to score against Wales, but the only ones on duty are Welsh, so I support them.
 4.
silva, van der vaart, taraabt, joe cole, hoolahan are good players without much pace. I think the people you need to have pace are mainly the wingers for midfield and defence as well as a striker which we all have as well as 2 centre backs starting against WBA. I personally think wes balances the team as he has the skill and the others have the movement.
Yes your right, and their slight lack of pace is precisely why they play as attacking midfielders and not as wingers or strikers. Give Hoolahan blistering pace and he becomes a left winger, he plays attacking centre because he doesn''t need to be a world class sprinter. I find it laughable that people think that he has a lack of pace anyway, he is hardly slow. Other players who have played behind the strikers include Paul Scholes, Frank Lampard, and Steven Gerrard, none of those lack pace either! Di Canio sometimes played behind the strikers and had pace, but he was primarily used as a striker, as a result of that pace. This Hoolahan is slow and short stuff is purely stupid, you can have a 15 stone 6ft 4 inch bloke who can run at 70 miles per hour but that doesn''t mean that he can control the ball in an instant like Hoolahan, and that doesn''t mean that they can place a pinpoint pass 8 times out of 10 like Hoolahan. He has a massive talent and the idea is to utilise his strengths.Lambert knows that of course, which is why he made the Championship team of the year and scored our first goal of the season!
 5.
Wes'' main problem isnt lack of pace but the fact he''s small and in a strong challenge for the ball is likely to lose out
Blimey not that one again, it''s the worst line I have ever heard and yet I hear it every week. Small = low centre of gravity = why he is so good with the ball at his feet. Lionel Messi, Deigo Maradona, Sammy Lee, Juninho, Nobby Stiles, Dennis Wise, Gianfranco Zola, Roberto Carlos, how many examples of immensely talented short footballers do you need? Paul McVeigh too of course.
 6.
i saw bradley johnson getting dropped off outside the ground before the stoke game and he looked like a right woofter in his suit carrying his toiletries bag yet on the pitch he looks well hard ...
I don''t think he looks that hard on the pitch to be honest, not as hard as Morison and Tierney. Holt is still the man for me, he has no fear. In fact there should be a song about how Grant Holt has no fear, he''s like a lion, completely fearless.
 7. I don''t think that Tierney, Morison, Crofts, or Holt, would be scared of anybody. Chris Martin a close second to those four, probably match them in a couple of years with a few hairs on his chest. I can''t imagine any of those five being intimidated by so called hardmen such as Joey Barton.
 8.
we have an international goal scorer !!!! go steve go , helps england !!! cheers
Hopefully he will score one against England too, couldn''t give a monkeys about the England team, plus that really WOULD help his confidence.... seeing as he will be facing most of those players at some stage this season.
 9.
thats gotta help his confidence. I wonder who the last home countries NCFC goal scorer was - lil Paul maybe, or maybe Iwan?
Probably Earnshaw against Cyprus in 2006.
 10.
Realistically we need our first win in the next three games, in fact we probably need 5 points. We play West Brom, Bolton, and Sunderland. If at least one of those games isn''t winnable then we will start to perhaps have a reality check, four points wouldn''t be a disaster, but five points would keep morale up, the fans in good spirit, and stand us in good stead for what is a tough run of games. It is inevitable that we are going to lose at Old Trafford, particularly with the way that 80% of refereeing decisions go there way there and our tendancy recently to put ourselves in dangerous situations. You may disagree, but I expect to see Betfair odds of about 1.1/1 for a United win. If we get our first win prior to that game however we can safely write that off, and will probably have the momentum required to go and beat Swansea. If we haven''t won by the Swansea game, then that''s no wins in 7. On the flipside, if we remain undefeated in the next three games, then we go into it having not lost to anybody but big four teams. If you look at our home games up to January:StokeWest BromSunderlandSwanseaBlackburnArsenalQPRNewcastleTottenhamFulhamAnd then our home games for January onwards:ChelseaBoltonMan UtdWiganWolvesEvertonMan CityLiverpoolAston VillaWe aren''t going to have it as easy as this for the next season, we actually do need to start getting home points on the board very quickly. I think we will know by January whether we are going down or staying up. To be honest, I''m nervous. The next three games, or perhaps the next three home games, will make or break our season.
I meant: "We aren''t going to have it as easy as this for the rest of the season!

 12. I fail to see what being German has to do with the match up, to be honest. Football is a world united sport with players from every country in the world, the dynamic is more diverse in the Premier league than in any other team in the world, and the relationship wasn''t brought up when he faced Robert Huth at Stoke. My personal tactic would to be to play the ball precisely 6 ft 3 inches in the air, meaning that Holt only has to jump 3 inches and MertEsacker has to shrink three inches, not sure which one of our midfielders is capable of quite so much accuracy, but Beckham could do it. That bit was light hearted, by the way.Not sure why this game needs to be discussed right now, seeing as we have 8 games to play before 19th November. I''m much more concerned about whether our next three games will see our first win. We play West Brom, Bolton, and Sunderland. No games are easy in this league, but we need to come out of those three games with 5 points in my opinion. If we don''t have our first win by that stage we then face Arsenal, Man Utd, and Liverpool, in three of our six next games. We can sacrifice those as long as we are going into that run of six games with enough momentum to get positive results against Swansea, Blackburn, and Aston Villa.
 13. Surely whoever started this rumour would have a username to back up this claim? Otherwise it is completely unfounded and uninteresting. My £10 would go on some halfwit, maybe one of those market twins or Ipswich Crazy, seeing the poster ''Cody Mac'' who had Cody McDonald as his avatar, and subsequently taking the internet a little too literally. A little like me thinking that you are a real wizard, or Mrs Tierney being the real wife of Marc Tierney? Yeah?
 14. I once bought a Fulham shirt because it was £15 in JD and had a year to run, a strange impulse buy. Think I wore it to bed a few times, then got too fat for it, and chucked it. It had a short life as a pyjama top. I had a Kaiserslauten top once too as a kid, but really can''t remember how or why I ended up with that. I haven''t had a replica football shirt since I was 17, because after that I was an adult, I don''t really do replica football shirts - never really understood the point. My colors are a city scalf in winter and no colors in summer.
 15.
Colin seems to be trying to filling the cracks in with these signings, (because as even the QPR fans say, 2 weeks ago they were definates to finish bottom),so it looks like it is certainly going to be  an ''interesting'' season both on and off the pitch . I said it before on another thread, I believe that with our football/business model, we are going to be in a far better place, than QPR,  in 2/3 years time. You might well stay up this season, but signing that lot, smacks of a one season desparation, and IF you go down, well hang on to your hats boys and girls, ''cos it''ll get VERY messy.
Agree completely with this. Lambert and McNally are chasing the sustainable model. If we go down then Lambert would probably go, but we will have a reasonable wage bill which is covered by the parachute payments, possibly a little in the kitty for a new man to invest, players good enough to win the league next season and do it properly, and if necessary an asset or two to sell (young and talented players = resale value). QPR on the other hand would have a huge wage bill, several Jimmy Bullard situations, an owner who may be willing to pump a little bit of money in, but this getting sucked up by over inflated wages, and nobody other than Tarabt with a decent resale value. They will be like Newcastle United without the 45000 crowds. Newcastle just about survived, with crowds four times bigger than QPR''s.
 16.
Am I the only one who thinks QPR will stay up?
No, there are about 12000 of them who go to Loftus Road frequently suffering from delusions too; don''t worry its quite a common condition, not serious, you won''t die. The only real long term consequence is a slight feeling of stupidity and self-loathing, usually lasting a day or two, this usually occurs when you have the realisation that you are completely wrong. I got this about 3 weeks after predicting that Ipswich will finish in the top 6 this year.
 17.
I couldn''t agree more with you Le Luge regarding Richie De Laet. I think he is head and shoulders above any Norwich/QPR contracted defender, and his Manchester United pedigree is already starting to show.
He is the best centre back that I have seen at the club for years, love to see him on a permanent deal.
 18.
That''s just it LeJuge, I wouldn''t even want DJ for one of the other three you mention, he''s no better than Martin, Jackson or Vaughan but our three are all 23 or younger DJ is 30 this year. Their back line is their weekness, we need ours to stay fit and stop getting sent off.
Yep, no better than those three. Probably can''t compare with Martin, different type of player. I would be happy enough for Lambert to have signed him, he is decent, seems to be down to earth, and would probably fit in, but he isn''t a top class striker. His goalscoring record was flattered by the number of chances he got to stick the ball in the net. Other players who scored 12 or 13 goals last season needed 4 shots per 1 goal, he needed 5.5 per 1 goal. Still not bad, but nothing special.
 19.
Quote user: LeJugeI honestly believe that Anton Ferdinand is a distinctly average defender who is prone to frequent lapses in concentration. Well said that man, I cannot understand the amount of people saying he is a good signing.  Couldn''t get into an average Sunderland defence last season and surplus to requirements this.  Just cos he has the same surname he is not as good as Rio.  Prefer to have De Laet.
Indeed, he has made a living off of his brothers name, clubs going in a frenzy when he was a kid because some random youth coach at West Ham said that he was going to be better than his brother. He really is no better than Barnett and Ward, and certainly not as good as De Laet (who I hope we will try and sign on a permanent).
 20.
Man sent off an what did you do?
We took a midfielder off for a centre back and played 4-3-2 to try and chase a second goal to win the game, and then we took a forward off for a midfielder and went to 4-4-1 when Stoke started getting on top. It almost worked too, Stoke scored in extra-time. We would have won that game if we didn''t have the man sent off. Does that not meet with your approval? What would any other team have done?
 21.
To be honest, Barton is the best of your bunch, but there is a reason Newcastle let him go for free so you better hope he doesn''t cause off field problems. The rest on paper are no better then Norwich signings, no worse either! SWP and Bennett, Pilkington is a top class player, our front line has the same make up about it, but when fit our back line is just that bit better. Saying all this I believe we will both be Premiership next season thanks to Evertons problems, Blackburn having some very poor players and WBA thinking that re-signing old players is the way forward. In reality QPR fans might be happy with all their signings but I really don''t think I want any of them here, really supprised that Warnock didn''t spend the money on hungry players rather than journeymen pro''s, done that six years ago and it failed.
I''d have DJ Campbell out of the new signings, but he would in no way be guarenteed a starting place, he''d just be a squad player like Simeon Jackson, James Vaughan, and Chris Martin.
 22.
OP I thought you were implying that they would bottle it last minute.com like Leeds !Take it as a compliment, the fact he''s come here is because he fears the Norwich, much like all the dirty Leeds fans who have oddly gone quiet over the last 6 months.
Oh I know, your right. They are on here because they have started having doubts, insecurities, they know deep down that it might not work, and they are jealous of our manager. They know that if we doubt them, they should perhaps begin to doubt themselves, they fear is starting to show. And let''s face it, they have much more to be scared of. They have the fear of getting relegated with a giant wage bill, the knowledge that they would lose Tarabt if they go down, and knowing that their owners could cut the bankroll at any time and leave them in the sh*te. We don''t have that fear, we have a sustainable squad, a fearless squad, and fearless fans. Bring it on.
 23.
Monkeys are very intelligent.. I signed up for a chat...you have already started a thread up about being buzzing for " qprs cup final"... While off yet mate..
It isn''t just you though is it, there are plenty of you on here spouting crap. I''m looking forward to the football doing the talking. I can''t think of anybody better than Grant Holt to score the winner after your thread though. I hope you realise that this is what makes our squad tick, they read these boards, the more your talk the less your chance of a point at Carrow Road. I know it''s a while off mate, but you have to prepare for the big occassion. A little like a big family wedding, it takes a lot of planning. You need to have an exit plan too, work out whether you can catch an earlier train home if your 3-0 down in the 60th minute. Remember the camera too, plus a spare battery, and one of those things to tie it to your wrist. Imagine if you miss the opportunity to show your grandkids the big day? Probably won''t play us again for a decade after you go down.
 24.
Tactics were odd against Stoke 2 weeks ago..
I know that you haven''t seen anymore than one formation for the past year or so, but 4-4-2 is odd? The most common formation in English football is odd? Blimey, Warnock is rubbing off on the fans too.
 25. We''ve outgrown the Leeds morons, now we have the QPR invasion, don''t they come across like an intelligient bunch? I can''t wait for the QPR games now, buzzing, let''s do these monkeys over. On the pitch that is, wouldn''t want to mess up my hair. They think that they have become a big club because they have signed a few ageing journeymen, somebody should shown them the Ipswich Squad full of players that were once highly paid over rated so called Premiership footballers. They were struggling to get 12000 through the door a year ago, Carrow Road will be like an FA Cup final for them. I''m looking forward to seeing Dyer, Campbell, Ferdinand, Wright-Phillips, and Gabbidon, become the next Bowyer, Leadbitter, Chopra, Ellington, and Bullard.
