Moaners on Canary Call...
87canary replied to RvWs 4 year contract's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Always listen to canary call on Iplayer at work on a Monday morning for some entertainment. Look forward to this tomorrow. Haha -
and the point of going on the pitch is.....? Run around a bit? Get dragged off by stewards and probably banned from the club for a bit. More singing would be nice though.
Just like how the RVW rumour started! Time will tell...
The RvW rumour was reported by Sky Sports in January. Not some random nobber with too much time on his hands pretending to be in the know.
-
I''ll pass.
-
it was posted by an "in the know" twitter. Most of whom aren''t in the know. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Google Translate: "Steven Defour is in the interest of Norwich City. The team, who all season fighting against relegation, would like to take the midfielder to England. Or Defour sense to play in a relegation team is still questionable. Norwich City is now sure of retaining the Premier League after Wigan relegated yesterday after the 4-1 loss at Arsenal. Norwich will not even go through such a season, so looking for reinforcements. It came out at our compatriot, Steven Defour. Defour currently plays in the Portuguese top club Porto. The 25-year-old midfielder is in his second season in Portugal, but has no basic place to enforce. Therefore, the ex-player Standard ears to another team, though perhaps expect the international interest of better teams than Norwich."

I''ve not the foggiest what this says. But it mentions us, and him. http://www.hln.be/hln/nl/1301/Premier-League/article/detail/1633368/2013/05/15/Premier-League-ploeg-wil-Defour.dhtml

Its time for a truce......
87canary replied to can u sit down please's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Im happy to give Hughton a pre season and at least 10 games of next season. I live in hope that our brand of football changes and we can play balanced football, live we have rarely seen this season.OTBC
I''ve been on the ''Hughton In''/''Happy Clapper'' side all season. Just because I wanted consistency, and thought he was doing alright at achieving his objective. Had we slipped into the relegation zone at any point, I''d have had a bit of a rethink. But as long as we were 17th+, he was fine by me.But I absolutely agree his position needs reviewing if things don''t improve football-wise by the 10 game mark next season. This season hasn''t been pretty at times. If this truce could make it to all the Norwich City supporters on twitter too - that''d be ideal. -
Seems the only source of this is one Arsenal fan tweeting it. Probably nothing in it.

Lets pick over the carcass of wigan

Maloney is the only player I''d take from them. Need to be wary of raiding relegated clubs. They were relegated for a reason. -
At one point in the first half, one of the Murphy twins hit a 40 or 50-yard diagonal ball right onto the chest of his brother.
This. They could probably pick out a cross field ball to eachother with their eyes closed.

I''ll admit, I was very worried when he came on for Turner. So glad he''s proved me wrong. Been absolutely outstanding the last few weeks.
-
Done his job in keeping us up. Time to build the midfield so RvW can get a supply line. Then we''ll see what happens at the start of the season.

Suddenly this post seems quite an accurate prediction.

Hughton's popularity

If we stay up, as far as I''m concerned its job done. It wasn''t comfortable, at times it wasn''t pretty, and it certainly wasn''t easy. He gets the summer to invest in the squad. Pre season games (this season has been very similar to how our preseason was in the way we haven''t scored many). Then if there''s not an improvement on style of play in the first 10 games of the season, or if its looking ominous, it''s time to assess his position. His aim was to keep us up. He''s nearly done it. Plus I hate to be "that guy", but if we''d had a decent referee against West Ham (a), QPR (h) and Sunderland (a), and a decent linesman against Arsenal (a), we would be safe by now. Not saying that''s the only reason we are where we are, but we''ve had little luck this season, and none of the poor decisions have ''evened themselves out'' over the season. -
Your 'out of 10 rating' for Hughton.

I''d agree with a 6 or 7 provided he keeps us up -

Hey guys! I brought the cyanide.... Oh wait, what? we''re not suicidal now? ..... *edges slowly out of the room* -
In all honesty - are we Premier League?
Perhaps there could be reason to play E Bennett as the second-striker instead of Hoolahan. Direct, positive, pacey and more willing to at least TRY to have a go than just about anyone in the team. Just a thought.
I may be wrong, but didn''t he play there in the P''Boro cup game? If memory serves me correctly he had a good game in that position. -

The same Martin O''Neill that was sacked by Sunderland because he wasn''t good enough? -
Sunderland.

He''s 24 unfortunately. The form he''s been in for Huddersfield, frankly I''d start him up front.
