  1. Agreed. Having both Jordan and Saudi Arabia allied on the side of Israel is a massive geo-political game-changer that Israel would do well to nuture that relationship for long term benefit rather than go for a short term gain.
  2. I'm agitated by facts. Like all woke people you wish to ignore the facts. I wouldn't give a monkey's if they really were a religion of peace. I would be agitated by Quakers and Buddhists if the facts showed Quakers and Buddhists were committing heinous crimes. But they are not. If you're not going to be guided by the facts but by your feelings then you are never going to arrive at a solution to the problem of heinous crime.
  3. I blame the Immans that brainwashed him. Who do you blame, the priest for being there?
  4. The story of Iran is one of the greatest modern tragedies. I've had the pleasure of working with a fair number of Iranians and have been struck by how well educated and cultured they are. Indeed, Iran, or Persia, is one of the oldest and most cultured civilisations in the world. The Iranians I've met have been wonderful people and rightly proud of their heritage. The former Shah of Iran totally misread the mood of the nation and the people of Iran welcomed the Ayatollahs in the 1970s thinking they would have leaders of a moral stature but totally underestimated what the immans had in store for them. Such a tragedy to befall such dignified people. And a reminder of how difficult it is to remove such a cancer from society once it has become established. Here's hoping that one day the Iranian people will be freed.
  5. That was yesterday's news, brother. We move on.
  6. Seems like some jumped the gun 24 hours too soon
  7. I think Muslim factions that you speak of are covered in the statistics I provided under the category 'Other', though of course other indigenous groups (eg. asian) would also be included so it's not specifically Muslim. However 'other' makes up both 14% of the population and commit 14% of the homicides. Still higher than 'whites' on a pro rata basis.
  8. Yep, it will be much like current lot. they will be dealing with the same mess and using the same tools, so the outcome is bound to be pretty similar to today.
  9. It's not good news if £8.5 billion f**** off with them. That means you and I will be making up the shortfall.
  10. They will be found out in the PL as the bang average Championship side that they are. Lambs to the slaughter. And six points points for us.
  11. Think we should aim to finish 6th as we are in good form and finishing strongly, and probably even able to rest a few against Birmingham. whereas the top 3 are all imploding under the pressure and whoever finishes third it will not be a happy place for the 3rd place fans, and they will have to play their strongest team all the way to the last match of the 46. The stars are in alignment in our favour.
  12. Tbh, Tony Powell wasn't one of the more charismatic members of the squad. from memory he got on with his job in a quiet and competent manner. You could try getting in touch with his team mates as there were a fair few characters in that squad.
  13. And as happened in the past, the non-doms will move to another country, such as Ireland, where they have non-dom status and will therefore pay less tax into the exchequer
  14. £10k is about what Angela Rayner is being investigated for. So she is as corrupt as the whole tory party put together! But dont worry, nothing will happen to her, too many people getting a leg over it
  15. only because in the uk white people make up 82% of the population and black people 4%. If you take into account size of ethnic groups, black people are five times more likely to commit homicide in the UK.
  16. Game changed when Preston put on a third striker and gave us total control of the midfield after that. We had a man over in midfield after the substitution and Preston failed to get the ball through to their three strikers.
  17. Perhaps in summary, blanket immigration is not the answer. Targetted at the right skillset it is, would you agree?
  18. Very good point. It's just an anecdote but is interesting nevertheless - I was watching a series of videos on YouTube by a bloke called bald and Bankrupt. He went around some of the grimmest towns and cities, talking to the locals that live there. In all his videos there are streets and streets of bordered up housing, run down, desolate, windows smashed out and uncared for. One wonders why these can't be done up and sold off cheaply, and I think the answer is thy are in locations where people don't want to live (or can't) because there are no jobs there. Housing has to be targeted. Anywhere will not do.
  19. Thank goodness Labour has MPs with principles, not like those nasty Tories.
  20. I highlighted what I saw as a very problematic request to forget a two thousand year link to the territory. Problematic because context is very important and situations must be analysed within their context. But in your response you did a very. Good job of framing the context and I think no one would dispute those facts. I was firmly in the two state solution camp prior to October 7th and why wouldn't one be? If there was a possible solution to getting Israel and the Palestinians to peacefully co-exist then it would be worth every effort to m a ke it work. But what I can't find anyway around is that Hamas are committed to liquidating Israel and October 7th demonstrated these weren't idle words but they really do intend to carry out genocide against the Jews. I also note that while a lot of planning obviously went into the October 7th attack there seems to have been no plans made for the protection of Palestinian civilians from Israeli reprisals. No attempts seem to be made to move civilians into tunnels. No stores built up for civilian consumption. No underground medical facilities for civilians. One could believe that Hamas wanted civilians to suffer. Therefore, for the sake of Palestinian civilians and for Israelis alike, Hamas has to be eradicated. And such an outcome wouldn't be unwelcome in other Middle Eastern States either.
  21. So Starmer says he wants to differentiate the incoming Labour government from Tony Blair's old government. The incoming government is to be known as New Tories....
  22. The problem I have with vegans using the argument about the killing of animals as a reason for veganism, ignores the millions of animals that are killed on a daily basis during the process of growing and harvesting vegan food. Obviously, animals are not directly killed, but the farming techniques to grow cost food requires tons of pesticides spread on fields to kill pests that would otherwise devastate crops. Then crops have to be treated with weed-killers which also kills animals living in the soils, leaching into rivers and waterways and so poisoning aquatic creatures. And then the harvesting process tends to shred a million more animals or kill off millions that pass through chlorine baths and the such-like. The animals that vegan farming kills are not the lovable sheep and big-eyed cattle but lots wriggly, ugly-looking stuff, but these are the animals that are way more important for the natural ecosystem than a pig. If you kill all the worms in a field then material in the soil doesn't get processed and the soil loses its nutrition and nothing can grow unless you replenish the ground with artificial fertilisers. If you kill all the bees then nothing pollinates and you have no fruit, for example. So vegan farming is way more harmful to the natural ecosystem than animal farming. Now the vegan will argue that the answer is organic farming. But the problem here is that organic farming is all low-scale and high cost farming. You cannot feed a nation using just organic practices as the end product is three times the price of non-organic stuff. Maybe fine if you are a middle-class dual-income family, not fine if you are working-class low income person. Moreover, without animal husbandry there is no organic fertiliser for organic vegan farming, so you would be reliant on chemical fertilisers, killing more of those slithery, wriggley animals You could probably achieve results on a small scale but that would require everybody digging up their back garden and growing their own fruit and veg.
  23. That's exactly what Yellow Fever implies when he says Forget the historical two millenia link to the area. That's what everybody who thinks there should be a two state solution is suggesting, when Hamas has told them a two state solution means Hamas intends to liquidate Israel.
  24. You have to see the arrival of Wagner in the context of the times: Many were upset with Webber, his relationship with the fans, some poor recruitment after the second promotion Many were upset with the sacking of Farke who had given us two brilliant promotions, sent out to the epl without weapons yet still espoused a beautiful style of football Many were upset with the appointment of Smith who seemed to be more in love with his ex- than he was with us. All in all Wagner stepped into a pretty toxic atmosphere compounded by the fact that want-away Weber was still hanging around the place. (To his credit - Webber's final signings were better than those of his middle period and the academy was beginning to produce improved results, but the damage had already been done) Now Wagner is not a charismatic personality who is going to rouse the fans' passions. He is more a work quietly and diligently in the background with his players. That means he is not going to challenge fans' criticisms, certainly not in the style of Webber. And Knapper, like Wagner, seems to be a low-profile character, so there is not a great deal of explaining coming out of Carrow Road, which upsets a section of fans who feel they ought to be kept more in the loop. So a lot of the early criticism of Wagner is related to his style, his approach to his job, and his attempts to turn the negative things into positives without an accompanying explanation of why he is doing things in a certain way. However, it was quite clear early on in his time with us, if you were observant, and is now almost universally recognised by the fans, that all the players have been very much together and on the same page as the manager. You see a very happy bunch of guys. You see no dissent. No cryptic social media messages, no sitting on the grass 'look-at-me' moments from disgruntled players. But you do see genuine affection between the players and a manager who is quietly going about his business - no doubt making some mistakes along the way but you feel humble enough to admit to those that matter where he can do better. And the upshot of this approach is that you can see individual improvement in almost every single player when compared to when they first joined us. You can see better set piece play. You can a greater mix of play compared to Farke, a greater flexibility in attacking play when compared to the days of Teemu Pukki. There's still areas that need improvement and much of that is down to the personnel involved but there's no doubt that Wagner is doing a good job and turning the team into a winning outfit.
