  1. Yeah, but you're much better than the average trump supporter at marshalling an intelligent response so I don't expect you to co-opt a Trump-supporter argument in defence of your argument. How about it was one of the last acts of the late Queen in ordering the death of Epstein to protect her favourite son. I mean, we can fly anywhere with these fantastical assumptions!
  2. So what do you make of all those white people on the streets of London draping themselves in the flag of Palestine? Are they scoundrels or do they get a free pass?
  3. The counter-argument to using immigration to pay for services is that eventually those immigrants will grow old and will add to the number of people requiring those services, so you end up forever increasing immigration. There are many population scientists predicting that the global population will continue to rise for a few more years and then begin to fall. World population will likely peak at 9.8 billion people at around 2080 and fall to 9.5 billion by 2100 in the medium-fertility scenario calculated by demographer Wolfgang Lutz and his colleagues at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis. Alternatively, assuming rapid economic growth, technological advancement, and rising levels of educational attainment for both sexes—all factors that tend to lower fertility—Lutz projects that world population will more likely peak at about 8.9 billion by 2060 and decline to 7.8 billion by the end of the 21st century. Today, global population stands at about 7.7 billion.
  4. If you dive deep into the immigration detailed statistics, you will discover that one of the largest categories of immigrants has been for student visas. If you apply for a degree course you can bring in dependents such as a spouse and/or kids. The spouse does not have to be in work. The kids, obviously, will have to attend school. After the degree course is complete, the student is allowed to stay in the UK for a few years if they have a job. While it is quite expensive to get a student visa for oneself, a spouse and kids, that still means there could be up to four-five people allowed in for half a dozen years, none of whom are earning very much, and if kids are involved there is the cost of schooling, so not much in the way of net benefit for the UK. Additionally, many universities see overseas student as a big revenue stream and many courses are targeting foreign students specifically while at the same time being very lax about attendance of classes or completion of course work. As long as the student has paid up many of the low grade establishments don't care what the students get up to while they are here. You can't really blame the students for exploiting this loophole to get into the country. They don't break any rules to get here, it's just that they don't contribute much while they are here and if they come with dependents, are a net drain. It would be very easy to reduce the numbers coming in via this route by limiting it to Russell Group universities, for example, so that you only had quality students coming to quality courses, or restrict dependents to spouses only, or charge for schooling in the same way they pay an NHS surcharge. However, there seems to be no desire at government level to make any changes even though all parties claim they want to cut immigration levels
  5. Undocumented immigration into the US is a geopolitical issue and not just an American problem. And as we are facing the same problems here there is every reason to discuss and compare what it means for us, the US and any one country experiencing the same issues. It is up to the American people who they let in, but if they were to bar entry to muslims for example, and it is something that was previously mooted, then that could have repercussions for British citizens. So even domestic policies in a country such as the US has consequences for the UK, and while we don't have a vote, we have an interest. I find it odd that you describe Trump as a complete foreign affaires liability when is Presidency is noted for the fact that he did not engage the US in any major wars. Something that did not happen in the administrations before him or the administration that followed him. I can only think you feel engaging in war makes good foreign policy! I also find it odd that you would think Trump had some motivation for killing Epstein, when he had very little to do with the man. Perhaps those people on whom Epstein had lots of dirt, as you acknowledge would have far better reasons for wanting to see Epstein dead. Orange is not the only fruit.
  6. Could be worse. Could be Fujitsu.
  7. Talking of supermarkets - those people who put stuff in their trolley and then half way round the store leave the item on some random shelf. Most annoying. A supermarket worker once told me that refridgerated stuff can't be put back in the original space and the item has to be disposed of.
  8. How is Hamas attacking Israel your problem? Or Russia attacking Ukraine? I think you are making a very shakey argument for non discussion of events outside ones personal sphere of influence! Trump met Epstein early in their careers when both were active movers and shakers and it would have been unusual if they had not met. But Trump kept Epstein at arms length once he learned what this guy was about. Clinton on the other hand, we know from flight logs, was a regular visitor to Epsteins sex Island for years after his presidency ended. Indeed, there was a famous painting of Bill Clinton dress in Monika Lewinsky drag hanging in Epsteins Island home. Do you think Clinton might have been blackmailed? Are you aware of the literally scores of mysterious deaths that have littered Bill and Hilary Clinton's careers? It is the Clinton's who should be behind bars today.
  9. From the responses to my post I would summarise posters hopes that Hamas will compromise their position of wiping out the Jews in order to allow a two state solution in the region. That used to be my position but changed after October 7th when I felt less hopeful that such a set of conditions could come about. However, I do acknowledge that the best outcome for everyone would be two states existing side by side if they were no longer attacking each other But as we all know the situation is complicated by other players on both sides who have their own agendas that extend beyond the Gaza-Israel situation and attempt to influence what is going on there. And I'm kind of interested where we might have to go if the two sides can't reach agreement like they did earlier with Arafat and the PLO.
  10. Come November, you'll be eating batsh!t
  11. From the first day of Trump's Presidency until today the Democrats tactics have been to throw whatever sh!t they could get their hands on to throw at the fan with the hope of making something stick. Even to the point of making sh!t up. That fan is seriously p!ssed off.
  12. What we actually know for certain is that the EU has extended the right of London clearing houses to serve EU customers until 30 June 2025, so you've jumped the gun a little bit with your claims. Meanwhile, you are appear unable to answer the 4 very simple questions I asked above. Why can't we afford to build a new railway line? Why do we have the highest tax levels since the 1940's which Jeremy Hunt admits he can't reduce. That's a Conservative Chancellor in an election year. That hasn't happened before, has it? Because we have a Conservative government that has abandoned Conservatism, not fully delivered Brexit, and followed the sort of tax and spend policies normally associated with a Labour government. As a result, two things have happened. One, we have eventually run out of money. Two, the electorate are aware of what has happened and are going to administer the required punishment at the next election. You may ask why would they vote for Labour to do the same thing and the answer to that is by and large they won't. What the electorate will do is stay at home on polling day and not vote at all. Labour will win a landslide on a low voter turnout.
  13. This is why FPTP will continue long after the next election
  14. I think you are actually looking at the core problem here - the inability of both sides to compromise. One the one side you have Hamas who will not cease violence until all Jews are removed from the region, and on the other side you have the Israelis who will not stop defending what they see as their right to exist as a sovereign nation. If I have assessed the situation correctly, then where do we go from here with two side who refuse to compromise? Does it mean a solution has to be imposed from outside, and do you truly believe that would bring a lasting peace? I have my own thoughts on the matter but I am interested in what others think is the solution that both sides would find acceptable.
  15. I came on here to say this. I think the pre match dressing room message was that we are playing a chappy Sunderland at home and we need to be on the front foot. Without Nunez it was left to either Hanley or Gibson to cycle the ball forward and neither are that confident of getting the ball forward leading to us faffing around at the back as we were doing earlier in the season. When the message from the dugout to McLean or Sara to drop back and pick up the ball we looked better organised but sacrificed some attacking intent. Our goal came when Gibson realised time was running out and he had to push forward. Had that been in the first half I suspect he would have gone for a short safe pass. Instead he took the risk to play long and we took our rewards It shows how important Bunwz has become to turn defence into attack which he can do at high tempo.
  16. No it isn't preposterous. There are miles and miles of tunnels under the Gaza strip. Tell me why not one single child has been moved to the safety of those tunnels? The answer is Hamas wants those kids to die so that numpties in the West can write the things you do. It's clear that the plans for the October 7th attack made no provision for the safety of the civilians. In fact, Hamas turned their weapons on civilians trying to escape the shelling.
  17. Bantastic banter, mate. Truly you are the Bantermeister-Generale.
  18. In that picture he looks like he's showing his w!lly to those two young lads.
  19. Conflating rape with a stage play is mega level of stupidity
  20. Just goes to show how little Hamas cares about Palestinian children. Could have moved them out of harm's way on October 6th, instead they painted a big target on their backs.
