I know no one plays 2 up front from the start but surely most teams have a plan B where you play 2 strikers when you''re trying to break down a defence in the last 15 minutes at home. Trouble is most of the time we''re slow & pedestrian giving plenty of time for the opposition to get everyone back behind the ball

Wasn''t Whiitaker suspended last night?

Losing my love for Norwich City FC
Year of the tiger replied to Matt Juler's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
What I cannot understand with many posters is that argument that "it was a very good team we played & it''s only 4games into the season" . The whole point is the style of play is the same as last season. We played the same way at such luminaries as Wigan, qpr, Reading, & Stoke. We''ve supposedly upgraded the players but as far as I can see nothing has changed. Watching Wolfie you can understand how Holty suffered. And also if I ever bother to listen to what our manager says I want to hear about Norwich, not how good the opposition bre it Tottenham, hull or even Luton for god sake. And before anyone accuses me of pant wetting etc I''ve been watching City away since the mid 60s -
To the OP. our league away record in 2013. Played 11 won 1 drwn 2 lost 8 goals for 5 against 22 Take out the Man City game (enjoyable but they were not exactly bothered ) and we''ve scored 2 goals. More worrying still you can properly count the total number of shots on 2 hands. For those of us who travel away and are caused of over reacting to a defeat by Spurs, it is not just those 90 minutes but a cumulative horror show that gets worse & worse.

Meeting Norwich fans!!
Year of the tiger replied to NCFC for life 1993-'s topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
At the summit of Mount Vesuvius whilst collapsed over a barrier after walking up. -
I do worry tbat some fans underestimate the contribution Holtg mames to the team not only in playing but chafacter both on and off the pitch. In 2004 Worthy got rid of the big characters Malky, Iwan & Cricts. Although the replace.ents were tech ically better the heart of the team had gone

Don''t shoot the messenger Richardo I am only saying what my mate said in his message & Matty Svensson''s tweet was hardly a ringing endorsement. I''ve never seen Ola play & I was very impressed by the stats. Hope its just a couple of biased opinions, after all Trappatoni didn''t rate Wessi did he

Not physically maybe but this was the word this Swedish friend used.

Hate to put a fbit of a downer on this but a friend who is aSwedish Norwich fan is horrified by the propect of signing Toivenen, says he is a weak player & is not up to PL. And before I''m shouted down that is roughly what Matt Svensson tweeted this afternoon

The Clear Out To Begin
Year of the tiger replied to Capt_Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Also I have never quite got the rating of Ayala . Every time I''vewatched him he like likely to concede a penalty. Not sure if he is still injured but doesn''t even seem to have got on the bench since Davies took over. I think that IF we stay up there will be a pretty big turnover especially as some players won''t want to spend a second year kicking their heels on the bench -
The Clear Out To Begin

Don''t forget that players like Rudd Korey Smith Adeyemi and Francombe would no longer count as under 21s and if we kept them would either have to be named in the 25 or again shipped out on loan all year. Think most will go. -
1995 And to blind to see it !!
Year of the tiger replied to Tim Dawson's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
The bit that reminds me so much of 95 is that just before Christmas I was hearing "we only need 4 wins from 21 games" now its "we only need 2 wins from 7" Except realistically its 2 from 5 (anyone think we can win at Atsenal of Man City?) I can still hear Robert Chase saying it. IF we don''t win Saturday or at the Emirates the pressure to beat Reading will be incredible & we know of old what City teams do under pressure. I hope I am being jusyt my usual pessimistic self but I fel we could be in trouble. And Ricardo, Villa, Stoke, Wigan, Newcastle, Fulham, West Ham, Stoke & by virtue of a new manager bounce Sunderland -
Arsenal applications close 15 March
Year of the tiger replied to Mr Angry's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
But we are taking smaller allocations than last year. ie 2500 at Old Trafford as opposed to 3000 last year, top tier only at QPR -
Were any of you there ???
