  1. Liverpool for depriving us of European football & maybe changing our whole history. If we had had those other 3 seasons in Europe  how might we have progressed as a club. Not to mention being threaten with being beaten up sitting in the main stand whilst 5 months pregnant.
Everton for not turning up at Coventry(Howard Kendall “I’m a great believer you get what you deserve in football”) & winning the semi final ( Pat Nevin “we’ve had a good little run & deserve something from the season”  We’d been top most of the season)

Coventry, obvious, Luton, fan ban, Newcastle,  probably another few I’ve forgotten

  2. I'll repost what I've put on the osp minutes thread which is relevant to this thread

Interesting on away coach travel it was suggested that a previous discount scheme could be reintroduced? Very strange that the panel, supporters& staff appear unaware that you get a free coach trip with 10 stubs which applies to all travellers, season ticket holders or others.

FOR ANYONE ELSE AFFECTED, I'VE JUST MANAGED TO GET THROUGH TO THE TICKET OFFICE WHO TELL ME THE CUT OFF DATE IS 31 JULY

Interesting I'm pretty sure it used to be 31st August but these things change. Like the time they brought our the season ticket flier on my 60th birthday, changing concessions to over 65 & they'd used my photo on the flier!! Lucky I'd bought 3 years in advance & they had to honour it.

Now Wagner says Sainz was withdrawn because he believed he had been booked which he hadn’t !

In fairness to Wagner, I saw the ref show the yellow card to Sainz in the aftermath of the Sargent goal. We assumed for kicking the ball into the stand, (an offence he did not punish the QPR 30  for doing exactly the same after the first goal).

  5.  Nothing to do with us obviously but Martin Keowns analysis of Man U was so familiar. Spoke of the problems of not having anyone sitting in front of the back four & also lamented the tactic of one of the midfielders dropping in beteeen the centr backs to make a back 3. It  seems to work for Man U as well as it does for us

  6. My neighbour has just found the actual postcard.

    Missing back Worrell

    Next row Whitehouse & Parnell

    Front. Not Tough, so actually

    Lloyd, Price, Turner & Howlett

The directors etc she did tell me the order but I've forgotten(old age) but include Watling, Fish  Robinson Jex, Hanley directors, Willie Reid manager, Bert Westwood secretary & two trainers Cann & Mongomery

Wagner really needs to give the Man city youth guy a try or I would just push Rowe or even Placheta up top - does anyone really think they will do worse than Idah or Hwang at the moment? I feel we are going into each game with just 10 players.

You have of course watched the Man City youth in the two  u21 games? The very notion you suggest him clearly means you haven't. Way of first team level at present

  8. As someone who was actually there I'm amazed by some of the comments. The pace the ball came in ,I do not believe Haarland would have scored. He had zero time to adjust. I was far more disappointed with Onel's tame back pass after a good move opened up a real clear shot.

Also Adam did a great deal better than the man he replaced who was invisible

  9. This is not a reaction to yesterday. I said last season although Gunn was playing quite well, our results were better with Krul. I don’t think Gunn marshalls his defence well. He is a decent shot stopper but some of his positional play is questionable.

"Our squad is too young and youthful it lacks any age or experience that's what we need to get promotion"

    - Many people on here prior to this season

Probably said the same thing myself but a balance is needed. We’ve been here before in 2016/17 with an aging squad but we did have a couple of assets to sell & then we’re able to recruit from Europe

  11. I’m aware that footballers keep themselves in better condition these days. However I do worry that, by November, 11 of our 25 man squad will be 30 plus. This does suggest an almost all or nothing approach this season as at least some will have to be replaced next season. I assume the thinking is that some of our u21 signings will replace (if prove to be good enough) but  it’s a bit of a gamble.
certainly yesterday our aging central defence looked every day of their age against young quick attackers.

I also worry that 4 of our 25 are goalkeepers, take out our injuries & we do look threadbare
