  1. I think the season ticket renewals coming up are more relevant than Tuesday's away following, if the play-offs look doubtful and the club do little in the January transfer window then people will think long and hard before renewing.
  2. Leeds are struggling at the moment, they miss Byram and the front four just don't score enough. I don't think Farke would be too disappointed with a draw.
  3. Shame it wasn't better advertised, Leeds scored early in both half halves so City were always chasing the game but they came close in the last 20 minutes. Good to see Wagner, Clements and Hughes there, not sure any of the U-18's are ready for the first team squad yet though.
  4. I thought Bannan at 34 was easily the best player on the pitch and he gave Wednesday control of the midfield although with the way City are setup that isn't too difficult, a better game than Saturday for the neutral but it was hard to believe there is a 17 point gap between the two sides. They'll have to change the formation for Saturday otherwise it could be a long and painful afternoon but there were signs last night that with Sainz producing more in one game than Hernandez has all season and Barnes getting fitter City should be able to compete.
  5. Everton couldn't have picked a better season to have a 10 point deduction, already out of the bottom three and will likely be safe in a couple of months.
  6. Kings Arms on Hall Road for me, great selection of beers and good atmosphere before the game plus they're happy for you to eat fish and chips from the chippy a few doors down.
  7. Still only 7 points off the play-offs but Leeds and Southampton are close to being totally out of reach so just two places to aim for realistically.
  8. Bus drivers only get £12 an hour which given they have 50 people's lives in their hands for several hours a day seems wrong.
  9. Sale of Sky shares when they got bought out in 2018, he was their Chief Operating Officer at the time.
  10. I actually think it's a daft thing for the club to put out, if they'd have said he picked up a minor injury in training we wouldn't even be having this discussion.
  11. That is correct, in rural areas especially there are shortages of doctors and dentists, GP's are paid roughly 30% less than their UK counterparts.
  12. With the general public making a significant financial contribution to the health budget via the private health insurance schemes the country can afford to employ way more healthcare staff than the UK which translates to shorter wait times for all manner of appointments.
  13. I didn't say it would be easy but things have got to change. As for the free healthcare comment I totally agree, having spent nearly 20 years in France until the summer we simply accepted paying for health insurance knowing that in return there would be no wait time to see a GP or have an operation. However, just like the need to change people's eating habits there would have to an acknowledgement that completely free treatment from the NHS can't continue.
  14. A major issue for me is that the money is primarily spent on cure and not prevention. Having one of the unhealthiest populations in Europe is a huge drain on government budgets so if more money was used to educate people to lead healthier lives then in a very short space of time we should see a reduction in obesity rates which are costing the country billions, current estimates show that nearly 65% of all adults are either obese or overweight which is crazy.
  15. Batth my MOTM, quite how it was awarded to Stacey when he had a torrid afternoon against Chair was baffling. Wagner changed his strategy a little to cede possession and for once his substitutions were like for like which made sense, I do wonder though whether he's been given an ultimatum by Knapper to stop the losses or else, it's back to back wins and relegation is looking very unlikely now but it was a dreadful watch yesterday.
  16. Planners need to be more pragmatic when looking at housing schemes, Norwich still has several empty office blocks that could be converted into housing units but the city council have set parameters that make this impossible. The Marsh building on Queens Road is going to be demolished and a new development built including apartments which is environmentally bonkers, at the same time there is an ever increasing housing shortage in the city.
  17. Barnes has to start but given there are so many games before the end of the year I wouldn't risk Rowe if he's not 100%.
  18. City have got some really tough away matches that they have to get points from as well as winning most of the remaining home games, not impossible but there has to be a quick improvement.
  19. The Ecclestone case is a brilliant example of why tax evasion/fraud should be aggressively pursued and all tax avoidance loopholes closed, the sums involved are huge and so much could be done with the billions lost every year.
  20. One of the biggest issues facing millions of people right now is affordable housing, successive governments have failed to build enough homes for an expanding population hence the current crazy rents and house prices. A mass affordable house building plan along with relaxed plans rules would in a very short space of time cure so many ills and give people hope for the future plus it would guarantee jobs for 0000's of building workers etc for years to come.
  21. Has to be a home win as QPR can't score 2-0.
  22. There are no easy fixes to the massive government debt, a rundown and disjointed health and social care system, poor transport infrastructure, a poorly trained workforce and an every increasing benefits bill. The Tories latest tax giveaway is a desperate attempt from a spent and clueless bunch to win back some votes which is pointless as the forthcoming GE was lost a long time ago, Labour don't show any sign beyond a few soundbites they have any real idea of what is required either so I expect the country to bumble on for the next few years until someone emerges to take the difficult decisions that are sorely needed.
  23. If there has to be tax cuts then an uplift of the tax allowances would help those at the bottom the most as would an increase in benefits at the full rate based on September's inflation figure and not the lower October figure.
