1.
Sometimes I wonder just what it is that people want. Here we are after 2 seasons of virtually unprecedented success & the majority of the posts I read are simply whinging & moaning. Some of the comments in the last 2 weeks, based on what we knew were always going to be 2 difficult away games, are almost unbelieveable. The 6-0 demolition of Scunthorpe, who have since beaten QPR, is all but forgotten. It''s also somewhat ironic that lots of people on here are quick to criticise Canary Call but in all honesty, this board can teach callers to that show a thing or two about not being able to see the wood for the trees. Crofts has lost it, Surman is useless, we don''t show enough ambition, Whitbread needs a rest, we need to get yet another striker in, we should have spent £5m+ to "guarantee" promotion (ah, that old chestnut), Ruddy isn''t good enough, Lansbury has become dissapointing, Ward is clumsy, Pacheco hasn''t lived up to early promise etc etc etc - I could go on. This board is getting just as bad as it was during the end of the 08/09 season - moan, moan, moan. At least then there was a good reason to whinge, but not now. No, we haven''t become a bad team overnight. We are still 3rd and still in with a great chance of promotion to the Premiership. I would have taken that at the start of the season. "Squeaky bum time" has well & truely arrived & it''s unlikely that everything will go our way but that''s no reason to start slagging off anything & everything. Give it a rest & leave it to the Manager & the team.
Good post but who on here said that "we''re rubbish" ? I must have missed it.
 2.

We will never get a better chance to go up
I''ve seen this sort of thing posted quite a lot recently and I don''t really understand it. We''re a work in progress with a young manager and a relatively young team. If we don''t go up this season (and I still think we will) there will be other chances.
These opportunities come along all too infrequently so I can fully understand OP''s point of view. IMHO if we do not gain promotion this season Lambert will have lefet the club for bigger and better things by the end of the summer.
 3.
Ruddy could only see which way the ball was going once it was over the wall. It was a peach of a free kick not many keepers would of stopped that.
I agree with Jim. Ruddy placed too much reliance on the wall, seemed to make one step and hesitate before then going to his right. He was a finger tip away from saving the free kick and had he been quicker and positioned in the middle he would have got it. It was a good free kick but was far from "unsavable".
 4.

Think we could see Macnamee on the bench too. I''m sure I read an article where Lambert said wide men would be key against Swansea.
With Swansea''s wide men, playing Macnamee would be defensive suicide lol!
True - Maybe I read it wrong. I was probably half asleep.
You must have been half asleep, I read the same article about "Swansea''s dangerous wide men" as Morty.
 5. Must be Lambert''s greatest signing, followed by Hoolahan, from Shrewsbury Town of League Two wasn''t it ?
 6.
From all accounts it took PL weeks to conclude the deal with Liverpool, so long it seems that he began to look in other directions. Liverpool has had the Spaniard for two or three years, and this is his first loan out. So in a sense we are honoured. I don''t know when talks about Vokes began, possibly while he was still with Sheffield. In the end we have made two very astute signings. They are both young, and internationals at their level, and both are keen to make an impression. They fit the Lambert "young and hungry" template and even if very short term they could turn out to be among his best signings, just when we needed someone like them.
Yep, agree with all of that.
 7.
Bly, i hope you aren''t serious.... Do you think the club forced Lambert to say he was looking for a striker? And Peterborough where forced to say we bid for CMS. There has obviously been movement, Lambert just hasn''t had the right man become available. Would you be happy if £5 million was spent on a 27 year old League One striker? Just to show the clubs ambition?
But Bly didn''t suggest for one moment that he would be happy if our club paid £5M for CMS !! This is a bit like saying, would Bly be happy if we bombed Syria, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain as well as Libya because he didn''t say that either.
 8.
Thats the word on twitter , hardly someone who bangs them in is he .
Should settle in well with Jackson and Wheekie then.
 9.
Over exertion while practising his stupid ''celebration moves'' I suspect.
Apposite !
 10.

If he''s good enough for Paul Lambert and Ian Culverhouse then he''s good enough for me [:D]
How saucy CA!!! [:$]
Nurse, pass the sick bag please.
 11.

The worst part of it is that there will be some on here proclaiming doom and gloom and blaming DS for considering letting him go. Biggest non-story of the week.
Well you rip the pee all you like Raymond but this reeks of Smith and her little ol'' Norwich. I can see this transfer fee going straight into the wicked cooks puss!
Blimey Nutty, that''s nutty even by your standards !
 12.
I think he''ll hand in a transfer request sooner rather then later to try and push the transfer. I''d offer Simeon the other way if they wanted him.
Blimey, I have to agree with you on this as well. Exactly what I thought. I would much rather have Martin than Jackson.
 13.
From comments Darren Ferguson made, I believe they are more then willing to sell him but he just said that to get abit more money. If we were to find another £1 million I think they wouldn''t refuse that. I think that £3 million already is too high and we should look at other options. But the big question is, who?
Totally agree. If true, £3M is a huge "punt" on a league one player of 27 and even if the gamble pays off in our final games is it really likely that CMS can successfully make the leap from league one to the Premiership. Personally, I believe we need more of a certainty to push us over the finishing line than yet another League One player. Like you say, who that should be I don''t know but this is where Lambert earns his corn ........ which is not to say that he hasn''t done a fantastic job for us already of course.
 14.

Mmm, like Jackson, MacNamee and Wilbraham ? CMS is 27, a league one player who, granted, played for the Posh in the Championship so I think it uncertain that he will be good enough to help us across the line in the vital remaining matches that we have at the top of the division and I think it pretty much guaranteed that he will nto be good enough for the Premieship if we make it.
Absolute bogbrush, Bogbrush. Nothing like pre judging a player before he''s even signed.DJ Campbell, for Blackpool, is still the fourth highest English scorer in the Premiership and the 10th highest scorer overall. Fact of the matter is, if he fits in the team and fits to our tactics, he can do well.
Don''t be silly.
 15.
Agree with CA here. CMS would be a good signing but I''d be concerned about spending the whole budget on a player who at 27 has only played a single season in the Championship. Admittedly we paid that sort of money for Dean Ashton, but that was when we had Prem money and he was a young player with a huge future which West Ham duly paid 7m for. Like others here, I trust Lambert and McNally to do the right thing.
Mmm, like Jackson, MacNamee and Wilbraham ? 16.
The thing is guys we have no idea what the offer was/is, how it was structured, addons et al, we are all assuming. Things we do know is that Fry loves to bargain and wheel and deal and McNally and Lambert are shrewd operators. Let''s sit back and watch it unfold.
McNally may be a shrewd operator but I don''t know why that is relevant to a situation where Peterborough own the asset and the world and its wife now know that Norwich want it. Seems to me that Fry has all the trump cards. The sort of position Fry enjoys being in.
 17. Well, it seems that Lambert is trying to bring in another striker ! : "Lambert has been trying to bring in striker reinforcements – and admitted he has been turned down by a number of his targets."
 18. I never had any doubt that he would score eventually ! But one swallow doesn''t make a summer as the saying goes. Nevertheless, more power to his elbow (not literally !) and hope he now enjoys an avalanche of goals.
 19.
Beau, it''s a real shame you don''t post here anymore. I can understand why though.Just an addendum to the previous post: I always think of Wilbraham as Wheelie bin - purely in the spirit of affectionate irony. I have nothing but respect for a man who is doing his best despite the obvious contempt of some of the crowd, & for a man who has vastly more footballing talent than 99.9% of his critics (although they are doubtless deluded enough to believe the opposite).
So, to form an opinion on any football or footballers you have to have more footballing ability than the footballers on display ? On that basis, presumably good old beaustful Beausy isn''t qualified to write an "article" and most if not all of the posters on here don''t have any right to offer an opinion ? Or is this the good old love-in with the posters you agree with and contempt shown to those you don''t as seems to be the case so often on this MB ? Of course it is. As for Wilbraham, there''s no questioning his effort or his ability to win a few headers and hold up the ball from time to time, but he is hardly a Championship striker and at a time in our history when we clearly need another striker to put chances away it was the most odd of decisions for Lambert to sign him. Of course, I''m not a better footballer than Wilbs so perhaps you disqualify me from having an opinion but regardless of what you think I can understand if not condone the increasing mutterings of disquiet and disssent aimed in the lean-to''s direction.
 20.
i''d say it was a push! Cant believe ref/lino missed it - maybe our luck''s finally turning.. and yes that is the ''N'' word from leeds scumhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5p12vlmnihE
Thanks Rondy, great spot. A push as clear as you like, well done Martin. Shame that we didn''t get a winner as that would have made the Leeds even more demented ........ if that''s possible.
 21. Highly readable and enjoyable report as usual Ricardo. Looking forward to your report has become part of my Saturday evening ritual after home games. I''m interested to hear your opinion on the build-up to the Barnett goal, how was it that Schmeichel end up on his back inside the goal ? Was he pushed by Martin or did something else happen ?
 22.
Since the new message board has been in use, number of users and posts seem to be much lower. I dont post very much but I come on here to see whats going on daily. I find the new look really unfriendly and its still jerky and takes a few seconds to re load every time I go back to the main page or click on a new post. This is the only website that I have any issues with
Yes, you''re right H4H, I visit this MB infrequently and I have noticed that the number of posters and posts has definitely reduced significantly. It is a shame, because I used to find it quite entertaining apart from the irritating little clique of frequenters constantly slapping each others'' backs and rushing to rubbish anybody who had an opposing view or who dared to "take on" one of their own. Although..., thinking about it that was quite entertaining anyway. I also agree that the new site is slower than before which combined with the reduction in threads/posts and the design and format has made this MB less attractive to me and apparently to others as well.
 23. Interesting and encouraging post ! I for one will be delighted if old neckless is not playing against us. Yes, they''re still a good side without him but they are a darn sight better when he is playing !
 24.
This is just to let everyone know about another change with regards to how NCISA conducts itself, and I apologise for using the Pink’un forum to announce itHowever,I wanted to get the message across to as many people as possible. I have now joined the NCISA committee and it has been agreed that I will be dealing with queries, criticisms and suggestions on the group’s behalf. Consequently, any comments made by other committee members on here will, in future, be their own personal opinions, not those of NCISA itself. I joined the committee because I want to see a modern businesslike organisation which engages with current and prospective members on all levels, and doesn’t overreact to perceived criticism or get drawn into petty squabbles. Only one member of the committee remains from the Robert Chase era, Roy Blower, who is nonvoting life president, and this is a time for a new start, because, frankly, there is a real danger of the Association becoming irrelevant unless it can offer its members more than simply a conduit for discontent. I have followed the various threads regarding NCISA over the last few months and often winced at how they have developed from the NCISA side. I am keen to open a dialogue with those who have criticised us, because I believe that their views are very important as we try to restructure the Association. I will do this on a one to one basis and would encourage anyone who has questions, criticisms or any other comments to contact me at contact@ncisa.co.uk and promise that I will respond to every contact, friendly or not! What I am not going to enter into is a debate on this forum, as I do not believe that that would be an appropriate use of the facility. I look forward to hearing from you.
Haven''t been on here for a while so nearly missed this pearl from Beausty. Ah, beausty, beaustful Beausant at his best, at the zenith, the chest bursting peak of his pomposity. Nice one beaustful. Keep up the good work. This MB seems to have plummeted in popularity and I had to scroll back far to uncover this Beausty gem of pompous, condescending, self-congratulatory pontification. Made it all worthwhile. What a good hoot I had reading it !
 25.

This really is cringeworthy.
To you perhaps. But go on. Keep trying. The further you climb the more you expose youself. And it isn''t pretty. OTBC
I seriously think that you need some kind of professional help.
Ha ha ha, that''s rich coming from the troll meister Morty !
