  1. This is a really tough one! I''ve come up with, in no particular order... Brisbane Road - Leyton Orient Goodison Park - Everton Molineux - Wolves But I think out of the three it could be our old gold friends from the midlands?
  2. Haha, good point Molly! I''m referring to our first PL home game by the way. PS, Arsenal away fans were housed in that corner between clock end and west stand. Though I watched the game with the junior canaries (yep, I was one!) in the main stand next to the norwich dug out!!
  3. For the record, can anyone remember where away fans were located in our very first PL match? The first correct and accurate answer will win the title of Pinkun Statto!
  4. I have all the ncfc season review VHS videos from 1989 through to 2001. After that, I have all DVDs through to about 2012. Never really know what best to do with the old VHS videos but I''ve still kept a video to hand in case I fancied watching at some point!! If somebody wished to put the VHS seasons onto DVD for me, I would be happy for them to take copies!! If interested, please let me know.
  5. We played fine tonight and I didn''t think we needed to make a sub. We missed Wes''s availability for the ball when he went off. Whisper it quietly but I really am not sure about Josh. He relies totally on his pace but he does some poor things also. Not sure what he gave us when he came on that Wes didn''t, pace aside.
  6. Apr 2009 at home when a David mooney ''equaliser'' was astonishingly ruled out. The players were even celebrating near the snake pit. Clearly remember it, as it was massive at the time... Grrrr!! http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/norwich_city_0_sheffield_wednesday_1_1_644719
  7. We have the players, and indeed the squad to do it. The only thing that can possibly stop us is ourselves, otherwise the league is simply there for the taking. 3 away wins on the trott is special. And bodes well.
  8. Coventrys from the same season was exactly the same, just different colours. I love that kit and it reminds everyone of 3rd place and UEFA Cup run. There are loads from the early 90''s that could have been picked out in all honesty. Arsenal away from 1991 was even worse!
  9. Just a month after the Highbury game, we did win 3-2 at Chelsea in similar circumstances - the ''Dave Beasant game!''. We we''re 2-0 down within about 20mins after having to change on the coach due to traffic problems in London! We were also 1-1 at Everton in 1993 when we scored 4 in the second half to win 5-1 - the Efan Ekoku game!
  10. For the statto''s out there (yep, I''m one!), strictly speaking No.6 Adams should be disregarded as he did not turn up at Carrow Road until Jan 1994, so wasn''t actually part of the original squad numbers. I think David Phillips may have originally been earmarked no.6 but following his departure during the summer of 1993, it was eventually left blank until Adams joined around Januray time.
  11. Ok, so here are the answers to help put your minds at rest! No. Position Player 1 GK Bryan Gunn 2 DF Mark Bowen (vice-captain) 3 DF Rob Newman 4 MF Ian Crook 5 DF Ian Culverhouse 6 MF Neil Adams 7 FW Efan Ekoku 8 DF Colin Woodthorpe 9 MF Gary Megson 10 DF John Polston 11 MF Jeremy Goss 12 FW Mark Robins 13 GK Scott Howie 14 MF Ruel Fox 15 DF Daryl Sutch 17 DF Ian Butterworth (captain) 18 DF Robert Ullathorne 19 MF Andy Johnson 20 MF Darren Eadie 21 MF David Smith 22 FW Chris Sutton 23 DF Deryn Brace 24 GK Andy Marshall 25 FW Jamie Cureton 26 FW Ade Akinbiyi 27 DF Spencer Prior
  12. NCFC very first squad numbers! 1-27 please. And just to advise, there is no number 16! important - NO CHEATING!!!!!! Google is strictly forbidden.
  13. Good question! I can come up with 10 if we include temporary managers also, but my memory of temps do not go back to prior the 80''s, so I''m sure there are far more out there!! Ron Ashman David Stringer John Deehan David Wiiliams (temp) Martin O Neill Gary Megson Peter Grant Bryan Gunn Ian Butterworth (temp) Neil Adams
  14. Fascinating programme. His drinking started at Norwich of all places. His wife lived in London at that time due to work so he had more spare time on his hands. It''s repeated on Sunday eve for anyone who missed it. Was a good programme and an interesting insight to a glimpse of the side that we fans do not see.
  15. £2 a game on average. Just get a sponsor to have their name plastered over the tin - jobs a goodun ;)
  16. The Football League announced after the World Cup that they would not adopt the spray in the FL but would instead trial it in the JPT. I don''t understand why the World Cup wasn''t a good enough trial!! All a bit wierd why they didn''t just go ahead with it IMHO. What is the JPT going to prove which the World Cup didn''t?!
  17. Just read that online. It''s massively damning for Malky, of which it''s completely his own doing by the looks of things. Mud sticks and he''ll struggle to get a decent club anytime soon. I originally wanted him at ncfc in the summer, but it now looks like a bullet well and truly dodged. Perhaps McNally was already aware of some pending issues? Probably helps to explain why Malky has not popped up at other clubs in the summer either, despite being heavily backed at early stages.
  18. Yep. Clearly Adams is frightened of McNally. Obvious. Tw@t
  19. Whatever happened to Camilla Canary?!
  20. Yellow nets first appeared in the 1989/88 season. In the 1996/97 season they were replaced with yellow and green stripes. Then for 2000/01, they were replaced with the current versions. Hope that helps!
  21. I''ll clarify immediately that I''m neither particularly pro-Adams or against. But I''m an ncfc supporter who wants to see whoever sits in the hot seat be successful. Almost 30 years of supportIng us, throughout which history during that time tells me we have spent 15% of these seasons getting relegated, 12% getting promoted / 45% playing in the top flight, 48% in the Championship / utter highs (Milk Cup, 3 top flight top 5 finishes, Europe, Play-Off Final, Lambert successive promotions, 3 seasons in PL in an era far far away from that of 87-95. I''m rambling. But what that says to me is that ncfc offer a mixed bag. Plenty of ups, plenty of downs. Lots of entertainment in the sense that we never really know what to expect. Up one minute, down the next. Peaks and troughs anyone? (That''s always been my favourite phrase to describe ncfc for about the last 20 years!). That''s what we do, and it will never change unless some Sheikh decides to pay us a visit. What we do now have is a platform like no other to vent our views every minute of every day. Right or wrong, we all believe our opinion is that magic solution that will solve all problems that exist. For me, as a supporter group, we seem to be turning into a bunch of jumped up prima donnas, who think we are better than what we are - spoilt brats if you like. Everything we accused supporters of other clubs being just a few years ago (ah, they think THEY have a right to be in the PL, haha). And damned if we don''t get what we want, we will shout even louder. No doubt the same at the majority of other clubs, but this attitude for me is not helpful in the slightest. To log onto this site and see so many questions about Adams having to go etc, my god how ludicrous is that?! I know, let''s chop and change managers every other game. Of course, that will work, because I said so, hey? As I said at the beginning, I have no particular feeling either way to Adams, but the guy is in the middle of sorting through a relegated squad, with all the different situations that go with it. Many of which we may not be so aware of, financial issues, contract issues and the like. Adams has not finished at all yet, and we may have to wait until mid Sept until we can be sure of our squad for the season (remember the Champ emergency loan market opens a week after deadline day). My post is hardly going to make a difference but feel I need to get this off my chest. Would love some good healthy debate but there just seems to be far too much dummy spitting, childish attitudes that is making this site a turn off for me. Maybe I just secretly pine for the days again where the evening news falls through my parents door each night and I scramble downstairs to check up on who we may have signed. Either that or a cheeky quick dial up of club call without my dad cottoning on as to why his phone bill was a bit high -(44p here and there surely wouldn''t have stuck out?!). Is the internet message boards a good thing? In some ways yes, but when we as a supporter group need to have a bit more of a commonsense and measured approach, I''m afraid I''m getting a bit disillusioned. And before anyone mentions, that does not mean I''m an accepting happy clapper, as some would like to put it. What I do is try to see the bigger picture and think how the current challenges would be best dealt with. I certainly have a moan when I feel it''s right to but there are times when you have to patient in my eyes. Yes, Sundays match was poor, there''s no getting away from that, but to call for the removal of a manager after his 1st full time match, that a narrow 1-0 away defeat, well I just beggar believe as to where we as a supporter group are going. There, I''ve said it. Otbc
  22. I heard it off a mate, off of a mate, who''s auntie''s husband met a bloke down the pub..... So of course, it must be true then....
