  1. I know it was that Bournemouth game but I seem to remember him getting a nice assist in that to go with his goals. I think he's like Placheta in a way and needs to stop thinking about and just 'put it in an area'.
  2. Would be a very good signing. Far better than relying on Onel Hernandez if Sargent gets injured.
  3. Don't worry, this will be us when the Yanks get here. https://www.sussexexpress.co.uk/sport/football/brighton-and-hove-albion/revealed-the-staggering-amount-brighton-owner-tony-bloom-has-invested-in-albion-1334468
  4. Interestingly Brighton are 26th. They've finished 15th twice, 16th, 17th and 9th in the last 5 years. Not sure I'd say that's the 26th best club in the world so I guess this rating is pretty skewed by the financial muscle of the Premier League.
  5. Probably in a sense of that somebody actually came in for him..They obviously knew he wanted to go and at that sort of price I'm sure they believe they can do better. Sorensen, McLean and deeper than usual Todd Cantwell is the 3 I'm predicting,
  6. It's funny how people see things differently. I've never found Sutton a particularly insightful pundit when it comes to Norwich City. He's better than most in the mainstream sports media but that obviously isn't saying much. If we're talking former Norwich strikers as pundits/commentators I do rate Efan Ekoku.
  7. Got ya. I don't actually think he'll have thought of any individual signing as a Buendia replacement. I think he knew he wasn't getting a player that good so tried to strengthen throughout. Technically he did manage that last year too (don't laugh), as much as everyone in that squad was awful we still got a point more without him.
  8. Not sure he has been tbh. Presumably going to be playing a different position in a very different system.
  9. Yeah it was. I'm thinking there's more to it than just his reading of the squad /preseason too. I wouldn't be surprised if that was a loan.
  10. I'm sure he said on comms that he hadn't but I might be remembering wrong. Or maybe he's seen 2, that and Hibs.
  11. The squad is significantly different to last season's though even with only 2 having come in so far. We're clearly in the market for more too. Michael Bailey has been implying another attacking player is on the cards (I'm thinking right sided winger) as well as the central midfielder Smith has said we're getting.
  12. Not sure how much attention he's been paying this summer. Think he might be basing it off that 1 game with Celtic where we started 1 of what will likely be out main midfield 3 (McLean) in a role he won't be utilised in.
  13. I read up on how Smith's Villa side were operating in the Championship and first season back up in the Premier League and I'm far more confident now than I was just having watched pre season. Would be disappointed if we weren't top 2.
  14. That's what I had assumed. He's played most games since making his debut and if he's clearly impressed enough for Webber to fly out there and try to convince him in person.
  15. So he's not a cut and dry auto pass then, interesting. I wonder if we'll be able to make a case to get it done or this is a get a deal done and keep him their on loan for another season so he passes.
  16. Would be watching it if you didn't need to sign up to watch iplayer.
  17. I think more of a technical player than Tettey. This guy looks every bit a guy that can help drive us forward. One of the trademarks of Smith's 8s at villa was them Dribbling forwards or dropping deep and pining balls out ro the wings. I think this guy seems ideal for that.
  18. Oh he'd 100% be in the first team squad. From what I read yesterday he'd be a perfect player for what we're trying to do so I think he'd play a lot. Especially with how compressed the season is going to be, we'll need to rotate.
  19. He's played regularly in a league which is easily top 50 and played a couple of internationals games. I don't know the exact triggers but surely he gets the points required.
  20. Football experience translated to English football. MLS is of a pretty good standard these days though and there's a pretty regular pipeline of players over to Europe. In terms of standard it probably is pretty close to the Championship.
  21. I think it's more likely to do with the fact they've moved over to the subscription model and are trying to be better than recycled clickbait.
  22. To be fair to Branston in previous summers the Pinkun absolutely reported on guff for the sake of clicks. 95% they'd have a 'verdict' section after a player write up that would say as much.
  23. To be fair this one appears to actually have substance. Completely different to something like the Grabban rumour you know was **** from the moment you see it. Reading up on him and he's exactly the profile of player I could see us going for and one tailor made for the 433 system we're going to play. Very interesting. Wouldn't be surprised if this was his agent saying 'going once' ant trying to coax out other offers.
  24. You just beat me too it. Don't know anything about him other than that he's a 20 year old CM/AM. Also Canada are a very good side right now so if he's actually playing then that's a great sign.
