  1. ...From some of the PUPs tonight. Days after winning the derby, having only lost a few times this year. Clearly in playoff form. Reactionary nonsense.
  2. Don't think sitting back was the plan though. Clearly wanted to keep up the energy by bringing Gibbs on. After their first it was clearly a backs to the wall job.
  3. Adding height when we've just conceded from 2 corners. We were trying to make the change before the second goal. Awful management.
  4. Still got Aboh and Welch to come on before SVH in the striking positions. Even then Wagner would rather change shape. This and the fact he mentioned the squad trimming in the run up to this game clearly suggests he'd rather have Adam Idah to pick. With such tight margins he probably thinks that call could very well cost promotion.
  5. I don't know, it's a pretty big cultural thing that just wasn't there last time they beat us. It actually didn't launch here until 2012 so it's even later than I thought. I'll admit I don't use it but more than half of the households in the UK do.
  6. Netflix was still primarily a postal service with their streaming arm yet to fully catch on. RB Leipzig actually formed on the 19th of April 2009, the last time Ipswich got one over on us. So at least 2 great footballing evils happened on that day.
  7. If you've been in a supermarket that has in store radio over the last 15 years you've likely heard Ed Sheeran.
  8. You also prompted me into thinking a bit more critically which resulted in a softening of opinion on him too. Big net negative for you today.
  9. The fact he's stated that there haven't been talks whilst the club have clearly made a move talking to McCallum would suggest that he is off to me.
  10. You know what, to an extent, I agree. It was a throwaway post and I was looking at it through a pretty narrow lens. As you've said he plays and instrument but he's also known for writing his own and the songs of a lot of others, or at least co-writing. Whilst I don't like many of these songs they clearly do well so he is talented in that regard. That being said if you're only really listening to whatever is on radio 1 whilst driving to work I'd still struggle to call you a music fan. It would like saying you're into literature having only read EL James and Stephanie Meyer or are really into games despite only playing Flappy Bird and Candy Crush. At worst it's a very light form of elitism, probably the right amount. Although of course if you do only want to listen to Ed Sheeran in the car and read 50 Shades Of Grey then go for it.
  11. Sheeran is music for people that don't care about music and just want something in the background whilst driving to work or whatever. He's personally always made my skin crawl a bit, even before It came to my attention that he was a scummer/chelsea fan.
  12. I believe loans go to the next registration window so they would not be eligible for a potential playoff campaign.
  13. Certainly a poker chip for his agent in any negotiation that's for sure.
  14. The defence in the Covid season was great but you have to look at it through the lens that every game was at a neutral stadium. We didn't have to deal with the pressure of fans and opposition players didn't feel as much pressure when they were sitting back trying to stop our attack. Recruitment in the following season was obviously not fit for purpose, even if a couple have come good since. I agree with you on Wagner. It really depends on what Knapper wants over the next 3 years. If he sees Wagner's style as compatible with he wants then he'll obviously stay. My gut feeling is that this isn't the case and we will see a change.
  15. Scum were even further ahead of us when we last met, they just can't beat us.
  16. Plenty of football club owners are super rich but Bloom is clearly a genuine fan that's embracing building the club up. There are obvious things we will be looking to do similarly to them (leaning more heavily on analytics in recruitment for instance) but I can't imagine Attanasio's group will be dropping anywhere close to the amount that Bloom has on Brighton.
  17. Zesh Rahman was also very much a British Asian, born in Birmingham. Didn't play out in Asia until the second half of his career. I think Michael Chopra's dad was Indian, probably the highest profile potential India national team player in my time watching. Although I don't think he ever did play for India. Football is certainly growing in India but it's obviously magnitudes smaller than cricket and likely always will be. In my experience cricket is still the go to sport for most British Indians whereas Brits of Pakistani origin seem to be moving towards football. That is just my personal experience though so I might be well off. An example of a massive population really embracing football would be China and they don't seem to export many players to Europe. Of course the economics of their league probably make staying at home a better choice than risking it moving to Europe for a lot of players.
  18. Not sure Drury would do too well in Wagner's system. Think I only saw him cross the halfway line about 5 times.
  19. Didn't realise Owen Coyle was managing out in India. Wonder what we will consider the main benefits will be from this link up. I'm guessing it might be slightly more corporate than the more all encompassing Coratiba link up. If it was more about sharing scouting knowledge you'd think we'd be looking in East Asia or North Africa, less so the Indian Subcontinent.
  20. Not sure about that, the players and entire structure of the team have changed significantly. Aarons, Skipp, Hanley and Krul were the main defensive players in the Covid season. I'd also suggest that Buendia offered a lot to that team defensively too. Of the same set of players Hanley has obviously only played 8 games. Giannoulis only played 16 in that season. Gibson has also already played 31 times this season whilst he only played 26 in the previous Farke promotion. Even if he was only used from the bench we also had Tettey that season, a second defensive minded midfielder whilst this season we have none.
