  1. Yes, he'll probably bore them to death, but as long as they survive, hey?
  2. Not really, they spent a hell of a lot of money building a huge Stadium, which allows more punters through the doors, which will attract more advertising, sponsorship and for their worldwide audience, it'll look great on the tele.
  3. Was this posted after the Spurs game? Because we didn't lose that one..... what makes you think we'll lose to Palace?
  4. Warning!..... Freddie Sears is on his way back and Luke Chambers will be available soon, the rest of the Division have been warned.
  5. I may have passed this story on before. I used to be a London Cab Driver, one day I picked up a guy and we got talking about football and how I was losing 'the love' for the game. I gave him the example of a game we'd played during our first season back under Lambert and how the game had 'turned' on several decisions by the Referee. He explained that he worked for Sky, was involved in specialized filming, action replays, slow mo's etc and that they were working on 3D for live games. He continued that the Big Clubs would never be relegated, that it would not be allowed to happen. "Do you know how much it would cost the Premiership to lose one of its biggest earners" "How much would Sky lose in subscriptions around the World if a ManU or Arsenal were to go down" It was then that I decided that I was not going to pay £50 to see my Team at Stamford Bridge if the result had already been decided. Conspiracy theorist? You betcha.....
  6. I said when it was first announced that it would be another tool to help the Big Clubs and was shouted down. I get no pleasure from saying I told you so and hold my hands up as a conspiracy theorist, that doesn't make me wrong though, does it? If this had happened to Rashford or Salah it would be on the news for a week and social media would go into meltdown.... ..... but we're little old Norwich, we don't contribute much to the Premiership brand in terms of worldwide interest, we don't spend like a Bournemouth or Villa, stimulating revenue, certainly not compared to Spurs or Arsenal. We've been relegated before and no one outside Norfolk cares, we won't be missed, like Swansea, Reading, Stoke and eventually Watford and Brighton, we're fodder, to be beaten by the Big Clubs to keep their supporters happy. As for VAR, it's just another nail in the coffin of a sport that has become a business, a business increasingly aimed at armchair fans, ignoring the the wishes of those paying to attend an event where vested interests come first. I hope we survive, I really do, the money would be very handy, but the Prem is a rubbish product and if we do go down, we can look forward to proper football next season.
  7. You are Paul Lambert and I claim my fiver.
  8. Since Connor arrived, we've stopped winning, nuff said.....
  9. Yeah, why can't we be 1p5wich?.... Delia out!
  10. I want the spare sock as my missus has a habit of losing them between the washing machine and my sock draw.
  11. Fair enough, I just hope your wife doesn't give up on you as easily as you give up on Norwich.
  12. Who are these professionals? Ignore them get behind the Team, despite the injuries this could still be a great season.
  13. Now that they're finally waking up to the reality that they might find their supposed easy return to the Championship a little more challenging, they're looking for someone to blame, Lambert is an easy target. All the anti Norwich stuff, used as a stick to beat him with ,while unfair, is only to be expected. Lambert meanwhile, will have trousered another years salary without providing the required results. Evans, for his part, is loathed to dump his Managers, he's almost too loyal, meaning Lambert is free to keep up the good work.
  14. Softcock alert...... glad the players haven't run up the white flag. Less than half way through the season and some of you have given up. I wouldn't want to be next to you in the trenches.
  15. I don't know how to do the linky thing but some joker has started a thread about their Team of the decade. Claiming that it would be good enough to compete at the bottom of the Premiership...... clearly, they've been away a long time.
  16. He was expensive and you can understand why he was in no hurry to leave..... however I was shocked to see what Mings did to him.
  17. I'm just not sure that we'd spend the money required in a position that Emi holds and Roberts can't get a game.
  18. Do you think that he'll get a game at Leicester?
  19. This is nonsense, so far we've played football like we were a top six side, results against Man City, Arsenal and running Chelsea close. Trouble is, we're a bottom six side atm, the Teams around us are scrappers and know how to survive in this League. If we don't learn to mix it and win ugly occasionally we're not going to survive. I, for one was pleased to see Tettey and Todd getting stuck in and putting up a fight. Ultimately, you have to make a decision, do you want to take moral high ground, trying to play pretty football every week while the opposition bully us and go home with the points, sending us back to the Championship. Or would you trade some of the 'entertainment' in exchange for the possibility of survival.
  20. Still waiting for all those 1p5wich legends.....
  21. Be fair ER, they're leading the way on green issues, they're the first Club in Europe to plant a tree on the roof of their ground.
  22. Loved Keelan but he was always kept busy during our early years in Division One. I always felt Woods was weak on crosses but with Watson and Bruce in front of him it didn't seem so apparent. Gunn and Green were good shotstoppers rather than all round goalkeepers, as for Krul, his best years were elsewhere but, based our budget last year he's been a brilliant signing.
