    Team for next season

Softcock alert...... glad the players haven't run up the white flag. Less than half way through the season and some of you have given up. I wouldn't want to be next to you in the trenches.
  2. I don't know how to do the linky thing but some joker has started a thread about their Team of the decade. Claiming that it would be good enough to compete at the bottom of the Premiership...... clearly, they've been away a long time.

    Nelson's Revenge...

He was expensive and you can understand why he was in no hurry to leave..... however I was shocked to see what Mings did to him.

    Who do you sell?

I'm just not sure that we'd spend the money required in a position that Emi holds and Roberts can't get a game.

    Who do you sell?

Do you think that he'll get a game at Leicester?

    Ignoring the noise

This is nonsense, so far we've played football like we were a top six side, results against Man City, Arsenal and running Chelsea close. Trouble is, we're a bottom six side atm, the Teams around us are scrappers and know how to survive in this League. If we don't learn to mix it and win ugly occasionally we're not going to survive. I, for one was pleased to see Tettey and Todd getting stuck in and putting up a fight. Ultimately, you have to make a decision, do you want to take moral high ground, trying to play pretty football every week while the opposition bully us and go home with the points, sending us back to the Championship. Or would you trade some of the 'entertainment' in exchange for the possibility of survival.

    Meanwhile, not far away....

Be fair ER, they're leading the way on green issues, they're the first Club in Europe to plant a tree on the roof of their ground.

Is Tim Krul our best keeper - EVER?

Loved Keelan but he was always kept busy during our early years in Division One. I always felt Woods was weak on crosses but with Watson and Bruce in front of him it didn't seem so apparent. Gunn and Green were good shotstoppers rather than all round goalkeepers, as for Krul, his best years were elsewhere but, based our budget last year he's been a brilliant signing.

Good news prior to Liverpool at home!

Good call, surprised at that result.

Christ, if they don't go up this season, they're screwed...... Fingers crossed

    Josh Martin

We're staying up and he can go out on loan to the Championship, to a smaller Club like, oh I don't know, Leeds?

    Who do you sell?

A bit harsh, I seem to remember McLean getting up at the near post against Man City, all those multi million pound players defending a corner. It happens, let's not keep beating him up over it.

Good news prior to Liverpool at home!

Champions League regulars like Liverpool have enough quality to field 2 Teams capable of being competitive in the Premiership, their 2nd 11 are likely to want to send Klopp the message that they should be in the first Team.... be careful what you wish for.

'Gave himself a good talking to'!

If Villa want Emi, you have to wonder if they've had an offer for Grealish, can't see them fitting both in the same midfield.

    Todd Cantwell and Teemu's Toe

Agree with this, he's a unit and there would be no pressure on him from the home support. If Pukki doesn't make it, throw him in..... tough on Dennis though.

    Palace v Brighton

There was some 'afters' in a match between them back in the 70s and the media like to keep it going.

Leicester are the club I wish we were

There will come a day when the bubble will burst and the self funding model will be the way to go, then we'll win everything, every season, forever. Mewwy Chrithmath hic

    Meanwhile, not far away....

What past events? They had a 20 year hiatus which ended 35 years ago, since then they've had half a dozen seasons in the top Division. Their support base bang on about events that happened so long ago that most of them weren't even born. Tinpot.

'the boy Buendia' ..... when did you start speaking Vinceish?

Is Tim Krul our best keeper - EVER?

..... interesting that someone described Krul as w@nk this time last year, that we're now discussing his legendary status.

    Leicester fan in peace

I'm taking from this that you're much younger than me, there'll only ever be one derby for us. Watching their struggles and slow demise gives great pleasure and can never be replaced by a Team a hundred miles away.

    Slowly, slowly, slowly...

Still think we're a soft touch for the 'bruisers' in this League. It's great getting results against Teams that play football, trouble is, the Teams at our end of the table know that they have to scrap for points. We've already lost to Watford, Saints, Villa and West Ham, all those '6 pointers' could be our undoing at the end of the season.

    Could be worse ......

A few weeks ago they were top with 2 games in hand, now they're 2nd with their advantage gone. The goals have dried up, Teams appear to have worked them out and, as you say, the not so faithful are getting restless. Some are doubting Lambert's ability to find their best 11 and get them up first time. There's also references to his earlier career and how long before he's looking to move on. Happy days
