So as I suspected, no link... what a surprise !!
According to the Daily Mirror, Juve have resumed talks with Van Persie’s agents and pledged to top any proposal made by Manchester United. This would include a £50m offer to Arsenal for the transfer fee, plus a five-year contract with wages thought to be worth £190,000 a week after tax.http://www.football-italia.net/22504/juve-offer-%C2%A320m-van-persieZlatan Ibrahimovic is now the world’s highest-paid footballer after PSG agreed to pay him £220,000 a week after tax.http://now-football.com/2012/07/19/thursdays-transfer-gossip/It is believed Rooney and his advisers want £150,000-a-week after tax, which would effectively be £250,000-a-week gross in January and an incredible £300,000-a-week next April when the Government’s new 50 per cent tax bracket comes into force.http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2010/10/22/2177223/wayne-rooney-wants-150000-a-week-after-tax-but-manchester-united-There are just a few links that it took me 2 minutes to find. A perfect example is the Rooney situation. Google ''Rooney 150,000 a week and you get over 9 million results.. Google Rooney 250,000 a week and you get barely over 600k results.Wages are negotiated by agents. It all starts at the top and works its way down, rather than the other way around. I.e. If Messi is on £250k a week then Xavi will be on £200k and Fabregas £150k (for example)... Rather than working upwards from Fab.So when agents negotiate for their players they don''t want to have to battle through the nitty gritty of tax laws, they want to talk about what the player will take home. Why would a money motivated played go to the EPL on £100k pw gross when he''d take home £60kish pw when he could goto a different league with lower taxes and take home £80k pw? He wouldn''t, and that is why agents work in nett figures.
As I said, this applies to the greedy few, not players of the ilk of Holt. It does not prove your case at all.
Haha, you really are a fool aren''t you.. You do realise that there won''t ever be any cast iron proof of this because the is no FIFA law to saw salaries are discussed in nett figures. How do most people on PAYE discuss their income? They discuss it in Gross terms... but where is the ''proof'' that you are asking for the prove that? There isn''t any.. I could find some people talking about it but in your eyes that would just be some people talking about it.The fact is (as I said before) agents talk in nett figures. Holt''s agent (your example) isn''t going to talk in gross terms just because his player or him are ''greedy'' they''re going to do it because THAT''S HOW THE INDUSTRY WORKS.I don''t know why I''m bothering to try and explain it to you, you clearly as as daft as a brush.
 2. 1 thing I will say is that if any manager is going to know defenders ability it''s going to be CH.Let''s just see what happens, defensively we''ve been solid so far this pre-season.
 3. I checked the other topic and it was just a load of ranting about Ward..Hannah O''Neill‏@boutiquelive@dani37pacheco hey love, Daniels signed for Nottingham forest for the season on a loan, ill get him to call u later xxhttps://twitter.com/boutiquelive/status/232853970761154560

 7.

I don''t think there is a general rule about this. I''ve read about some players being paid monthly. But I''ve heard mostly it''s weekly. It''s their salary and is paid all year around. One thing you maybe surprised to know is that the figures that they quote I.e. £100,000pw is after tax. The players and clubs deal in after tax figures.
I find that hard to believe. Do you have a link to back that up ?  I agree that some big-name foreign players won''t move unless the tax is paid totally by a club as tax here is so high, but those are the really top greedy guys and are a very small number. My understanding for argument sake is that Holt is on around a 22K a week before tax and pays his own tax, otherwise quoting 22K a week salary is a lie as it would be around 30-35K.
No I don''t. The other guy is right, no clubs disclose salaries, they don''t need to. But the figures that agents work with for their clients are after tax. Here is a footballers pay slip.. 8.
Really good read Andy,   When you think on what the club has achieved over the last few years from the opening day of the L1 season.   Just wish I had a time machine so I could put a bet on us getting back to back promotions the day after the Colchester game!!   Would love to know what teh odds would have been on that one!
Thank you mate.I find myself day dreaming about the very same thing too!
 9.
Nice read, but city''s late winner against Derby must rate in there somewhere, as been said by others.
Thanks mate.I''ve altered the article to include the Derby game as I think you guys are right.I''ve also embedded the video I made of the goal sync''d with the Radio Norfolk commentary.. still gives me goosebumps:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDM88n9ZHk0
 10.

What do we have to lose?
Squad cohesion.      A squad whose average wages may be £15,000-20,000 a week and one "marquee" player on £40,000 - £50,000 a week?     If Holt or Morison or Jackson score more than your "marquee" striker, are they not going to think errr....why is he getting 40k and I''m only getting 20k?    Much better imo to keep the squad on a level that is fair to all of them.    Also a financial liability - its easy to dismiss spending millions as if it''s nothing - we''re Norwich City not Man City (thank goodness). ^that.
12.
I enjoyed this, although I didn''t know of a Kyle Pilkington who scored for us at Tottenham
Haha! What a dweeb!!! It''s because I always go to call him Karl Pilkington and must have got him mixed up with Kyle Naughton hah!Good shout re Derby to, that is a really big deal. I guess I missed it out because I was away that game. Although I did almost crash my car when I heard it on the radio.. Not even kidding!
 13. In my honest opinion, and here''s why: http://www.strikerstackle.com/norwich-city-fc-my-club-is-the-best-to-support-because/My favourite 10 moments from the last 3 seasons and why they make me think that us Norwich fans are the luckiest there is.Can I just say that this isn''t a commercial blog, I''m not trying to make money, just trying to share an article that I hope you find interesting/brings back some happy memories.Feedback welcome!
 14. I don''t know who''s more obsessed.. those that post on here about Lambert or those that post on here that we shouldn''t post about Lambert...THERE''S ONLY ONE WAY TO FIND OUT!!!!!...
 15.
Can you get a digital copy done Andy?
I''ve thought about it. I thought about getting copies made and selling them with the profits going to a charity. But I''m not sure about whether I can do that legally as I own the film not the actual rights to the footage.Would it even be the club that own it?
 16. I''ve got the only recording of our 1958/59 season cup run games. Where we got through to the semi finals and won a game against Manchester United  3-0 beating the Busby Babes. They were in D1 and we were in D3.It''s an old fashioned tape. But it''s 100% authentic.

 18.
The most annoying thing about Canaries Player is every time you go to watch a video, you get that canary intro bit at the start and it''s literally 10x noiser than the rest of the video, so you have to turn your volume down and then up again.
Hahah I thought it was only me that got wound up by that. The sound clip is also really bad quality which just makes it hurt my ears more!
 19.
Probably best to have a combination of all three Mowsgrass.
Hahahaha!

 21. I agree with Barnett. I always though he was a good defender. I think it''s his distribution that lets him down and also the dodgy start last season where penalties were being given left right and centre.
 22.
It''s not because anyone thinks Celtic are Real Madrid. It''s out of respect for set of supporters that made a massive journey on a school night to honour the loyalty of one of our players. A set of supporters that I''m sure any City fan in attendance that night will agree, were a cut above the rest.   Football doesn''t just have to be about rivalries.   Cheer up you miserable sod. 23.
How to fill up your website (part 94)   Read that player wants to leave club, indentify his position speculate on clubs that might be looking for player in that position   sprinkle heavily with words such as - transfer target, rumour, linked     move to next target       I''m not too sure how some on here think agenst work. Clubs will be constantly sent names/lists of players who want to move. who are avaialable to move or more usual the agent is hoping to move them.   There is nothing in these rumours (that hs some basis in fact) that has not landed on every managers desk umpteen times. ''Leaked'' to the media'' is usually the last resort and is often a sign that no one is interested.     perhaps someone will post the startling revelation that ''Dirty den'' is looking for work and is hoping to work in TV
Spoken like a real FM2012 Pro.
 24. From Caught Offside: Duo in hunt for Nice defensive midfielder, with Fulham also keen.Aston Villa, Fulham and Norwich are on red alert after Nice midfielder Kafoumba Coulibaly issued a come-and-get-me plea to Premier League clubs. The Ivorian enforcer is currently with Ligue 1 outfit Nice but is hoping to finalise a move to England this summer.“I have two years left on my contract,” Coulibaly told Sky Sports.“I want to move somewhere else. Hopefully Nice will accept a bid for me and I can take my career to another level.“Playing in England can be exciting for me. I would love that and another league will be welcomed.“I want to leave on good terms here.”The 26-year-old has been with Nice since signing from Bastia in 2008. He has just one cap for his country, after making his debut in September 2008 but has not featured for the Elephants since.Coulibaly has made 74 league appearances for Nice, scoring twice.
