1. Although he wasn''t great, compared to every other ref I''ve seen this season he was a HUGE improvement.Don''t get me wrong, I''d probably be saying he was poor if we had had Premiership refs prior to him. But for me it just goes to show how poor the refs have been until this chap.
2. He looked some what portly from where I was sat in the Barclay... I mean we''re not talking Mr Blobby, but for a pro footballer... he was also at least a yard off the pace and against Southend defenders?.... that''s not good.
3.
Lets not go down the road of playing players out of position.Quite right Roeder did a lot of that, but i think Lambert is to clever to do that
I disagree he''s been playing Rose at left back. It''s obvious Rose isn''t a left back........ He should be kitman.
4. I think the hard desire and passion that Mcveigh seems to have would see him play better than Rose at that position.
5. So Drury is fit, Rustys not suspended who''s your team, and what''s your formation?
6.
Michael Rose - Very very poor. When ever he got the ball he refused to play it down the left hand side, Instead cut inside and try and play cross field, and 9times out of 10 he gave it away trying to do this putting the defence in real trouble! and i lost count the amount of times he hoofed it and sliced it out of play. The guy is out of his depth. - 100% agree. Also got fed up with the amount of time he wasted on the ball. Lappin and Hughes - Never again should these two start together in center midfield again. Both very similar in play but both extremely lightweight and were both knocked off the ball with ease last and never suceeded in winning the ball back off the Southend midfield. A very poor southend midfield were mae to look good by Lappin and Hughes. - For me these 2 were not really in the game last night. Hughes made lots of mistakes and Lappin was not much to be seen. C. Martin - Had a shocker! His touch was well off and his shooting was worse! Am i the only one he thought he looked really unfit last night? To me he seems to be carrying a bit of weight?- Absolutely! I said the same thing in another post. G. Holt - Was beaten most of the time against a strong tall back four. Touch again poor at times but did improve second half. - Seems the same since he came back from his suspension. Basically despite going 4-4-2 we still managed to lack width. Both fulll backs refused to overlapp and play down the line meaning every  thing again went through the middle where our light weight midfield could not get to grips with the bigger stronger southend players. Our first team is desperate for the presence of Askou, Russell, and Drury and untill their fit and playing again i feel we will continue to struggle! - Agree again except for Askou, no doubt he''s a good player, but Doc & Nelly made no reason for his return yet. 7. Mcnamee was quality last night. He was everything to our game that Hoolahan is when he''s at his best.Mcnamee outclassed their defenders time and time again.Hoolahan was giving it his all last night and when he touched the ball he did well with it. Unfortunately the system wasn''t getting the best out of him. And god knows how many times I saw him raise his arms in disapointment at not getting a pass.
8. He hasn''t been his usual powerful, confident self. That''s for sure!Chris Martin dare I say it looked unfit last night.. like he was carrying a little extra weight?!
9. Anyone in my opinion who rates Nelson less than 7 wasn''t watching the same game.Nelson was the only person between their strikers and the goal on several occasions. He effectively 2 men as Rose continually went AWOL and still managed to cover his own ground. His distribution was never first class, but he made the simple pass when he could and cleared the ball well when he had to.I can only think the people rating him poorly were sat too far away to be able to work out all the work he was doing. Because to rate him poorly in my mind is as daft as rating Rose a 10 last night.
10. He was playing much wider than Hucks used to, and he never took a shot on goal. Instead skinning defenders each time he touched the ball and whipping the ball in for the absent Holt and Martin.I only once saw him fail to skin a defender and was tacked..3 seconds later he''d won the ball back.Really loved him. He needs a song pronto![8]He plays on the left, He plays on the right. That Boy Mcnamee, Makes Ipswich look shite![8]
11.
Nelson - 6.5 Solid enough tonight although did revert to hoofing the ball on occasions
Nelson was superblative tonight.. Only reason he ''hoofed'' the ball was because he was caught short of time from covering for the abysmal Rose.
12. No I agree.. he is a lot like Hucks! Loved him tonight! Never stopped going 100%
13. Due to waterlogged pitched apparently!Lets get 3 points on the board and it''ll put more pressure on them!
14. Anyone else got any spare Barclays stand tickets? these chappies aren''t replying :(
15. Email or PM me your numbers :)andywhyteuk@gmail.com
16. Sorry for being naive.. is £16-20 my likely total cost? or is that just the cost of the upgrade?
17. Despite the clubs financial woes increasing the ground is something they should be able to get cash to do easily. It''s an investment in the club and created return revenue. Question is would the money received from ticket sales pay the loan repayments for the building work?
18. How much is the upgrade and how much are you wanting? :)
19. Ridiculous that the situation was handled differently from the Ferdinand situation... at least that was obviously a foul! This was obiously accidental if anything!
20. There is a really cool looking Hummel track suit top in the Canary store.. 2 secs I''ll see if I can find it:My bad it''s Admiral.. same sorta thing though :)http://www.canariesretail.talent-sport.co.uk/PagesPublic/ProductBrowse/product.aspx?group1=AL&group2=CLOT&group3=RETR&group4=*EMPTY&product=4680
