  1. Add Matt Gudgeon - "Blackburn surrendered a 2 - 0 lead at Carrow Road earlier in the season" Shame that Gudgeon let''s Radio Norfolk down as I really enjoy Chris Goreham''s commentary - yesterday''s goal description being a perfect example. Also enjoyed Iwan Roberts as a summariser last week for Spurs.
  2. Estimates Lambert''s transfer budget at 2 - 4 million but then puts a potential target as as Kris Boyd (unattached) I really hope not as he failed miserably at Middlesbrough.
  3. that Lambert has aimed mild criticism at the fans? "The crowd expected us to win" "Maybe the fans need to stick with us a bit" If it was it was entirely justified - I thought the crowd were over critical today. Remember where we were two years ago.
  4. Is it Matt Gudgen who anchors the live coverage? Anyone else notice when they were giving out the Championship scores he kept saying that it was their opening matches. That is just sloppy broadcasting and didn''t happen just once. Thanks to whoever posted the live feed details. The Spanish commentator was hilarious with the players names but seeing it live gave a much better impression of the match than the highlights.
  5. Anyone else entered teams in the Telegraph game? Just wondering as you can set up supporters leagues.
  6. Interesting team though. Looks like few of the new recruits have impressed enough to oust last seasons team. If Crofts was fit he would play instead of Bennett if the diamond was the right formation meaning De Leat would be the only new arrival to play. Typical of Lambert though - you got us here - now show us you can keep us here.
  7. Anyone know if the stated capacity is actually lower than than before?
  8. When I get time in the next few days I am going to put on a bet that Lambert will be the next Man Utd manager - after a few succesful Premiership seasons with us of course. He is the perfect fit for Man Utd.
  9. My player of the season but PLEASE don''t put him up for interview by Sky Sports News again - that was excruciating.
  10. Does anyone have an e-mail address for D. McNally. I think there are a lot of valid points which he should be aware of. I have to work weekends on call so there are some matches I cant get to meaning I could put three tickets on buy back if I trusted the system for some matches which would be of benefit to me and the club especially next season if we do go up. As already said the system pre-dates his arrival and it could just be that he would be up for an overhaul. Even if the tickets arn''t sold until the clubs allocation has sold out we are potentially going to have a lot more sell outs next year making a smoothly running scheme a priority.
  11. Completely agree with earlier comment - I rang and put my tickets on buy back a few times but they were never resold. I dont bother anymore - including Monday just gone when my two sons couldn''t go to the match. I tend to offer the tickets to friends although on occasions they do go unused. The other thing that used to cheese me off was that you were offered a small amount of the potential new sale (£10??) with the club keeping the bulk of the cash and you were only allowed to use it against a future season ticket sale meaning that your cash could sit in the NCFC bank account for months until you could use it. This seemed to me to be blatently one sided and unfair. I did write to the club about it but never had a reply. My point was that a buy back system needed to be more transparent and fairer and had it been they would have had two more fans in the ground on Monday with the extra revenue as well. Very short sided by the club but as the whole process preceeds McNally then maybe it should be suggested that the whole system be looked at again before the potential blockbuster matches next season
  12. Questions were written down over breakfast, collected and then asked by Goreham. Presumably those of a sensitive nature (the B word) could be removed although I got the feeling that he would have answered the question if it had been asked. When asked about message boards he said he hoped the players didn''t read them as they wern''t always helpful with the opinions voiced. he is very up for the match this weekend and definitely sees it as a revenge mission. He was asked if the touchline ban and the fine was worth it to be able to tell the referee what he thought of him. Touchline ban was hard but the fine "was worth every penny" Cant wait for the first 10 minutes on Saturday!
  13. Attended above event this morning. Nothing earth shattering but nice to listen to a more relaxed and forthcoming lambert than we hear post match. Nice anecdotes, very complimentary of fans, Lampards goal was never over the line (and other good natured anti-English bias) and you got a real appreciation of how his time with Borussia Dortmund has helped shape him as a manager with the experience of having played there. When asked who in the team should go on Mastermind his answers were - Surman is like Trigger from Fools and Horses, Ruddy might be good if he talked and Crofts was too ugly. The upshot was that none of them would be any good. Well done to Chris Goreham for his questioning. All in all an excellent way to spend an early morning. Oh and he will only spend the 2 million if it is right for the club. Looks for all his previous teams results except Colchester!
  14. Dont know where you are based but try Birds in East Dereham. Located near Halford''s/Paul''s Cycles www.birds-sport.co.uk
  15. I have followed Lambert since his Motherwell days and I would bet that he is seeing this an opportunity to force the boards hand to give him the funds to have a decent chance at promotion. The impression he gave after Middlesborough was that funds were getting in the way of his ambition/plans. As he is unsure whether the board will bow to his demands he is clearly sitting on the fence. When and if the board give him the backing he will rule himself out of the Burnley job. Fail to back him and he will be off as I am sure Burnley will have already sounded out his agent and dangled the carrot of the available transfer funds remaining from the parachute payments they received. Personally I think he wants to stay as he sees the whole Norwich setup from the fans to the ground as Premier League standard but he is clearly very ambitious and wont see his plans thwarted by the boardroom.
  16. Does anyone else think that the buy-back scheme is too heavily favoured towards the club. £10 for an adult season ticket holder which is then sold on at full price by the club. £3 for a childs season ticket which could be sold on at full adult price. The money is then held by the club potentially for 12 months before it becomes available to use against your next season ticket. I know that it is great to get bums on seats and create atmosphere but it has to be fair to all parties. Wish I could use such a mark up in my own business. Comments?
  17. Became a legend in my eyes when he came out afterwards and spoke to the media after the 7-1 opening day disaster. Total respect and it was obvious even then that he was the captain/talisman in waiting. One of Lambert''s top decisions to make him captain.
  18. Have watched, read and enjoyed the forums for ages but finally decided to join. Just a few ramblings to introduce myself. Originally from north of the border and a Motherwell supporter who has also followed the Canaries since 1987 (went to Carrow Road - against Coventry - on my first full day living in Norfolk). Being a Motherwell and Scotland supporter means that Lambert has been a feature of my football life for a very long time. It had been obvious for years (in the same way as McCleish perhaps) that his footballing pedigree (captain of club and country, major trophies including Champions League, World Cup Finals), general attitude and his unwillingness to expect anything less than 100% from everyone around has had him has marked him out as a potentially great manager. I personally think he will end up at the very top and his success in turning this club around has came as no major surprise. I think he was ready for a step up to a bigger club where he could realise his potential. I think the emotional pull to Celtic would be a big one but I believe he will look at the bigger picture and understands that to make him attractive to the really big clubs he needs to have a decent CV (promotion, cup runs) which a decent period of time at Norwich would fulfull. Celtic is a dead end job with four really big matches a year. He knows that the infrastructure and fan base here can take the club a very long way. Apart from that I think he seems totally at ease here although mindful in every recent interview that things can turn around very quickly and realistic to know that it wont always be this easy. He will be a big draw to new signings with his been there, got the t-shirt history. This will be especially important when we need to strenghen next year for the Championship.
