  1. One of the mascots was introduced as enjoying football, FIFA 13 and beavers. The announcer sounded as if he choked on his next intro.................
  2. Correct formation for away matches but would like to see more attacking intent at home. I would drop Pilkington to free up extra striker. Doesn''t do enough over 90 minutes to be  a certain starter.
  3. A good point today. When I listen to people at CR hollering for substitutions I think they forget that someone has to come off to allow one on. They seem to treat substitutions are a guaranteed match changer. I couldn''t see the point of making the substitution that late unless for time wasting reasons and to upset QPR momentum.
  4. of the miserable b****** who sits behind me. He moans from start to finish and is at his happiest when other teams score against us as it was what he predicted. For the last ten minutes tonight all he could say was "why doesn''t Hughton bring on someone to win us the game" Oh really and who might that superstar be and who would he have taken off? I can''t take it any more. Roll on Movers and Shakers week.
  5. We all know that there are potential a-holes in all fanbases but there are some who just have a higher perecentage. I havnt seen that sort of behaviour since Millwall in the 80''s but to carry on like that and involve children was unacceptable. Virtually the whole bus was involved as well. My eight year olds first reaction was to turn round and make the L-gesture on his forehead and shout loser - thank you Top Gear! (for which he received a talking to about Premier league jealousy and inciting trouble) I only wish he had been right. I have found the coach company''s website and intend to take it further. Is alcohol only banned on trains?
  6. I watched Surman in the warm up and even then his control and passing were awful. A bad day at the office but has done enough in the past to warrant another chance. Never rated R Bennett since Man City at home last year can''t remember if it was the fourth or fifth goal but instead of giving everything to get in a block he looked like he couldn''t be arsed. He was near enough to have made a difference. Shocking attitude.
  7. Walking with my two sons (8 and 11) to the match we had a coach load of Luton supporters going about the same pace as us. Subjected to a load of verbal abuse, assortment of hand gestures and beer cans thrown out presumably through the emergency exit. The coach had children on board that looked the same age as mine. Totally un-necessary and had they acted like that out of the coach and outside the ground they would have been arrested. What a bunch of t****** and makes the defeat doubly hard to take. The last time I saw that behaviour was when Millwall visited.
  8. the background to the incident in the upper level of the Community Stand - corner. Thought the bloke who the crowd of stewards were trying to eject was going to go over the barrier at one point
  9. Ferguson and Villas Boas watching Celtic tonight.
  10. The lure of London over Tyneside is also a big factor. As an aside I never want to hear any newspaper or website reporting Harry Rednapp saying that there is nothing happening in the transfer market. Does he think we are all fricking stupid. Now on a par with Warnock as a manager who makes my blood boil when he is being interviewed. Why don''t the interviewers take him to task over the bullshit. QPR will crash and burn with this policy - simply not sustainable in a business sense.
  11. He''s generally looked excellent when he has played for Scotland and has scored goals. Suspect Levein may still have been in the job had he played him as first choice. We are not going to be able to sign a guaranteed top striker with our budget - any signing will have an element of the unknown about it Signing from the lower leagues has worked well for us - Howson, Johnson, Snodgrass, Pilkington. Trust in Hughton - his signings have been excellent so far. How any people would have expected the quality of Turner''s defending recently in the first few weeks of the season. Just as an aside - thought Johnson was immense on Saturday.
  12. Then he should have been sent off for play acting. He goes from looking mortally wounded after the tackle to try and influence the referee to miraculously jumping to his feet a second later to remonstrate with the referee to again try and influence the decision. Disgraceful.
  13. Do we think the manager will put out the first team regulars or not. Think we should - cup quarter finals don''t come round often at Carrow Road. I am sure the fact that it is Villa/Lambert will not influence his decision at all.
  14. As for Norwich, their upward mobility becomes increasingly difficult to fathom. Their starting XI is ostensibly no better than Championship standard, with the possible exceptions of Bassong and Javier Garrido, formerly of Roma, and yet they continue to defy all doubters. On Sunday they stood level on points with Liverpool. A bit harsh I thought.
  15. Did I hear "The referees a manc-er" being chanted or was it wishful thinking?
  16. Listened to last weeks Times podcast today which spent a lot of time praising Hernandez which only goes to emphasise how good our central defence were yesterday. When he was substituted I couldn''t think of a single decent contribution. They also made the point that the reason West Ham are riding so high is that they can defend properly unlike many teams in the League. The settled back four are all Hughton signings and three 1-0 home victories are testament that we are now very strong in this department. Lambert''s attacking philosophy didn''t always serve us well and he was shown up against Man Utd last week. It may not always be so exciting under Hughton but we will end up a better Premiership team under his stewardship.
  17. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/aston-villa/9637075/Aston-Villa-manager-Paul-Lambert-happiest-inside-the-pressure-cooker-ahead-of-former-club-Norwichs-visit.html Respectful Norwich comments!
  18. Noon report says Lambert at Villa for talks today amid reports he has already quit Carrow Road. Come on NCFC - give us some info. This is now being disrespectful to your fans.
  19. Pat Murphy on Radio 5 this morning. Villa''s three preferred candidates are Lambert, Rogers and Martinez. Three teams who finished above you, play a style of football that is light years ahead of the team we saw on the last day of the season and all three clubs are on an upward positive trajectory. Why would any of them want to come to you? Lerner has lost interest (no pun intended as he makes money from credit cards) now that he realises there is no profit in owning Villa. Teams that finish the season miserably invariably continue that in to the next season.
  20. Lambert is far more tactically astute than Rogers as he proved this season by his half time changes allowing us to dominate the second half. That is what will make him a great manager. We have seen him change his tactics/formations several times during the same match and not always using substitutes. Swansea play the same way every week and have no plan B. A bit like Barcelona against Chelsea and that was their undoing.
  21. Were the comments made as part of a general question and answer session and if so was Lambert in attendance? I do think one massive factor in all of this is that his mentor didn''t leave Villa in entirely happy circumstances and I think this would be significant. However if theLiverpool job was to become available.....................?
  22. The atmosphere around the ground today was similar to the Fulham game - too many people criticising and forgetting where we were three years ago. Teams are allowed indifferent performances and it is our job to stay onside and encourage the team. The manager criticises I am sure but doesn''t do it in public and neither should we. If I was Lambert I would be very disappointed in that reaction at the end of the match today and would be thinking "why the **** do I bother"
