  1. Owen Coyle''s sacking to be confirmed later today. He comes back and brings GH with him - guaranteed winner with the fans. So much for Whelan''s famed patience.
  2. In the week that Mike Phelan claims to have been Man Utd''s actual manager for five years the Daily Star claims he is being lined up for Norwich - BBC Gossip Column. Even if it wasn''t a ridiculous suggestion I cannot imagine McNally doing the "we need someone who knows the club" routine for anyone else either - far too street wise for that.  I almost wet myself recently at the clip of Phelan bursting the balloon in the dugout and getting a mouthful from Ferguson - anyone else enjoy it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ifjCR9SL0s
  3. "Some managers are popular with referees. Chris Hughton is respected for being one of the most civil to deal with" Do we like this or would we prefer a Fergie who tried to influence referees with his histrionics? Do we get more decisions with this reputation or not?
  4. User name gives a clue. I was teasing my children at the West Ham match who are Norfolk born and refuse to recognise the words Scottish and sport in the same sentence that you "cant beat a bit of Scottish when you need it" as I celebrated Snoddy''s goal. Used to stand on the terraces at Fir Park watching Lambert play for Motherwell.
  5. Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas: "We looked like the away team, we played in a difficult atmosphere with almost no support. We have a wonderful set of fans but they can do better. Away from home we play with no fear and we need that atmosphere at White Hart Lane. "We don''t need the negativity that was in White Hart Lane today."
  6. As it is half term week I was thinking of taking my son to his first away match. Is everyone likely to stand for the entire match meaning he can''t see bugger all and kind of defeating the object of attending? If we travel with official coaches where do they park in relation to Old Trafford. PS - I will be paying full price as I am not a hero.
  7. Why Pilkington (and Johnson) are allowed to see daylight with facial hair that is reminiscent of Raz from Come Fly With Me. Ridiculous.
  8. Anyone else think we looked defensively less secure without Johnson. I always think a lot of his work is unseen and unspectacular but he does break up a lot of opposition attacks. Don''t think it is always appreciated how important he is to us.. Trade off I suppose was that we did have a much more attacking midfield.
  9. I should think 90% of Snodgrass''s crosses were caught by Guzan. We all know when he takes a corner the left arm goes in the air for the in swinger. His best period today came when Pilks was warming up. Not been Piks greatest fan but his crossing when he came on today was excellent. Redmond is a crowd pleaser because he runs at people but how many times does it result in something constructive?
  10. Having had a "full discussion" on the opening day of the season with the catering staff about the substandard new pies I am intrigued by the suggestion that we are reverting to the previous pies. Has there been discussion on the forum? Has there been a campaign to have them reinstated?
  11. From Jim White in the Telegraph this morning When James Morrison – the only member of the starting line-up likely to feature in the Premier League season – slammed the ball past Joe Hart in the 12th minute, in the stands they must have thought they had overdosed on the happy juice. Oh really!
  12. A good evening to be Scottish - supporting your international and club teams all at the same time. I suspect this ultimately means more to the Scots as confirmed by the manager interviews.
  13. This fixture brings back lots of childhood memories. Watched some archive matches on BBC last night and it made me cry to see some of the exceptional players we used to have. Come on Snoddy, Martin and Whittaker. And don''t forget to bring the goalposts home.
  14. Mr Thickie here. Is the team name "Norwich Pinkun Forum" and the code 1032-13221 cos it ain''t working for me? Thanks in advance
  15. I know it won''t be the final table but all the same it is great to see that level of spend, Top flight clubs’ summer spend 1 Manchester City £95.5m 2 Chelsea £30m 3 Norwich £27.475m 4 Swansea £24.75m 5 Liverpool £24.8m 6 Tottenham £24m 7 Southampton £21m 8 Cardiff £17.15m 9 Sunderland £16.38m 10 West Ham £15m 11 Aston Villa £13.55m 12 Crystal Palace £8.6m 13 Everton £8m 14 Hull £7.55m 15 Stoke £3m 16 Manchester United £2.4m 17= Arsenal, Newcastle WBA £0m
  16. Favourite moment - faced the media after the 7-1 Colchester debacle. Not easy I would imagine. Obvious then he was made of the right stuff to get us back out of League One.
  17. "His natural instinct is to go on the outside" Absolute rubbish. Either passes or comes inside - far too predictable. Bennet''s final delivery isn''t always great but at least he does take on and commit defenders. For me Pilkington is one of our most over-rated players
  18. .....................do not chant "There''s only one Chrissy Hughton" on Saturday in response to the Villa fans "There''s only one Paul Lambert. It is hypocritical, wrong and was cringeworthy at the Villa cup game (the only time I have heard it sung)
  19. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22285545
  20. I posted about this on Saturday evening and that I was so angry about the negativity against Swansea that I kicked off at the fans around me. The main point was that Holt should be on the pitch but his eventual performance shows how stupid and thoughtless their berating of the team and Hughton was. There are many who come to do nothing but moan and struggle to say anything positive when we play well. They moan about the back passes but forget that the reason that the player chose the back pass is to avoid the groans from the crowd if it goes wrong. Some fans need to look up the word SUPPORTER in the dictionary.
  21. Any decent striker would have shown shown either desire or anticipation to bury that cross from Snodgrass. Very poor.
  22. The negative attitude from the crowd affects the players - fact. Carrow Road is far too quick to berate players. WE ARE ALL NORWiCH CITY. It is the same problem England have playing at Wembley. There are many fans who never ever utter a word of praise and it seriously p***** me off.
  23. .....for all those miserable b******* who simply go to moan. They cannot bring themselves to praise anything the team do, constantly moan at the players, berate Hughton, start shouting for Holt after 10 minutes and think they are gods gift to football management. Stay at home, look up the word SUPPORTER in the dictionary, ask yourself why the players look nervous and ask yourself what your job would be like if your colleagues treated you like shit when things were not going well. Oh and by the way you have no right to celebrate when we score you hypocrites. We all have them around us so do what I did today and tell them.
  24. Interview in the Telegraph today- will try and find a link as read on the digital version. Pretty standard but does finish with the fact that he had never been fitter with less than 12% body fat and that he prefers the away kit as it makes him look thinner. Mainly bemoaning no England call up and explaining wife''s move to Carlisle.
  25. Not sure about that. Having been in the dressing room a couple of times when my sons were mascots the expression "rabbit in headlights" springs to mind. I suspect he keeps himself to himself in the dressing room but would certainly lead by example on the pitch.   Complete aside but Bassong, R Martin and Wes were really great engaging with the children. Bradley Johnson should be made to take his headphones out when people are speaking to him!
