  1. That''s it then - Conference football very soon!Reading the posts on here it''s quite clear we are totally doomed.Bought my season ticket, as I have for the past 28 years, but from what I''m hearing on here I don''t think I''ll bother turning up - waste of time as we''ll never win or score aparently.Perhaps someone will be kind enough to let me know when it''s worth turning up to a game - although reading everyones comments I assume everyone will be following my example!Anyone planning to turn up for our games?
  2. With all the doom and gloom on here I think we''ll finish 29th, Adams will be sacked at half time at Wolves, as we concede 23 goals in the first half, from the defence he refused to strengthen, bolstered by the fact he played Martin at centre back. With our woeful strike force, and team of "has beens", I can see us scoring a maximum of one goal all season, and that will be when John Ruddy comes up and scores, late in injury time, heading home from a corner. In the meantime Delia will steadfastly refuse to unleash her grip on the Club, and appoint her much praised Michelin star rated chef as manager, with an assistant sous chef who is also highly rated. The new football coaches don''t think the players are eating well enough, and introduce a high fat Michelin star menu, at Colney. They are pleased as the players pile on the weight, and are very difficult to knock off the ball, if they ever get to it!What a great place this message board is for reasoned debate! Happy new season everyone - I for one am actually looking forward to it with genuine enthusiasm!
  3. Thanks Morty - diamond sems favourite then - but with a few more formations to keep teams guessing!
  4. What formations(s) did we play tonight Morty? Couldn''t be there tonight. Are we definitely moving away from Hughton style footy?
  5. You think we''re back to League 1 footy soon then Ridgeman, or in freefall through the leagues?
  6. If Norwich  things are truly so bad for these people I suggest they stop going to our games, go and support the clearly (in their opinion) supererior Ipswich, with their superior ececutive structure, and the transfer there wonderful thoughts to TWTD.Either that or shut the ***k up and get behind our team, our Manager, and our Management team, or ***k off.Hmph - got that off my chest anyway! lol
  7. Ues killiecanary - very true, and also there were concerns from the Board that Chris Hughton, lets not forget a "more experienced" manager, had too much power in the transfer. This was something they wanted to dilute, but only in the sense that they wanted to offer more support to whoever the new manager was, to ensure the transfer mistakes of last season ewre not repeated.
  8. Phil Hoadley didn''t mess about when he went in for a tackle - usually won!
  9. I was at that game too, and although we lost, it was one of the most entertaining games I have ever seen at Carrow Road.  Strangely, I shouldn''t have been there, as I had given my ticket to someone else as I had a Judo grading that day!  The grading was cancelled in the morning, so I ended up buying another ticket for the game.So glad I went - it was a great game with that fantastic goal!Never met Justin, but we saw him quite a few times at the traffic lights in Thetford when we were on the school bus. He always waved.Shame football has hardly moved forward on these issues since.
  10. wtf have I got a smiley in front of this post - not intended - there''s fukc to smile about!
  11. I  know Kei has been covered lots, but looking at some of our performances which seem to lack any passion, is he actually a better impact sub than we currently have?We seem to lack leadership and passion, having lost Holt, but irrespective of his football talent, he really seemed to lift the players when he came on, and it seemed that the players and supporters maybe thought something just might happen whenever he came on.I don''t see the same thing if Elmander comes on now, and as yet, I can''t see that happening if the Wolf or Becchio came on - maybe only with Redmond.I know he''s not the greatest, as we all do, but could he have provided an ingredient, that with the loss of Holt, and in hindsight, we are somehow missing?Just a thought.....
  12. Thought it was a bit harsh for the ITV pundits to not even mention Ruddy before the game though - preferring to mention that Joe Hart, number 2 Fraser Forster and 3rd choice Ben Foster, will be our three England keepers - they even acknowledging Ruddy exists!
  13. Thats no reflection on John Ruddy, it''s just that we''re an unfashionable club, so have to perform 10 times better than other players to get a sniff at an outing for England!
  14. When Hughton is sacked there will be a huge outflow of players in January Wolf/Hooper/Redmond/Fer will all be snapped up, and we will not be able to attract any decent replacements.Good job we stayed in the Prem for a third season, or we could have made the quickest up and down from League 1 and back to League 1 in history! Can see us doing a Wolves here, at least we can rely on the support of united fans.................oh hang on
  15. Strange - I thought The Wolf largely played as a loan striker in Portugal, and scored a lot of goals!  I must be wrong!
  16. Phil Hoadley didn''t half used to get stuck in - brilliant 50/50 ball winner
  17. I used to read these - really enjoyed them and was a bit miffed when they stopped! Hopefully Hucks will realise there is a lot of interest in these, and resurrect them. It can only benefit his charity work as the site will get more hits!
  18. It will be interesting to see how we set ourselves out when he play Holt and Becchio up front, and whether the goals per game ratio improves!
  19. Lets not forget that Hughton accepts we aren''t scoring enough goals, and clearly wanted to strengthen our strike force this January. He also does appear to be considering different options, the fact that If Holt had been fit yesterday, he planned to play him and Becchio up front proves it. A managerial change at this stage of the season would increase the likelihood of relegation, not reduce it. I agree we have been too negative, but assuming we stay up (which under Hughton I think we will). I think we need to see how we strengthen the squad in close season, and how we set ourselves up to lay then. I didn''t hear anything from Newcastle fans saying Hughton was a negative Manager, so maybe he just just sees our style of play at the moment, as a means to an end i.e for us to stay in the Prem. Lets hope time shows that with better players our style changes.
  20. He sounds like a great guy, but he has only been in pre season training, and is currently training on his own, not with the Kansas squad (not allowed to apparently) so don''t think he will be starting games for a while, with not being match fit and the obvious step up in the pace of the Premier League!
  21. 4 Not sure if Becchio has enough in his hold up play to fit in with our current system- great to have another option though!
  22. I think he''s learning, and improving. He''s had more Prem games now and his confidence is growing, enabling him to command his area a bit more. Had a very good game tonight.
  23. Filled it in - would be good to know the results!
  24. I think the form table is slightly misleading.  We have just been through a Christmas fixture list, which would have been tough if we had a fully fit squad.   We didn''t - we had our top striker and talisman injured for the whole period, and the main other player who is big enough to hold up play up front also injured. This, along with other injuries, without doubt affected our form, and (the West Ham game apart) we certainly didn''t disgrace ourselves against Man City and Chelsea!Yes we could do with strengthening the squad to freshen things up a bit if we can, but if we can remain injury free for a while that would be a big help too!Still think we''ll be fine!
