1. Ferguson was enraged and went too far. However, referees should be accountable for their actions too. It was a ridiculous decision and was the reason for the outburst. I think the ref, with the benefit of hindsight, probably didn''t include it in his match report as it was his crap decision that initiated the whole unsavoury episode. Refs are more untouchable than any manager, Ferguson included.
 2. He''ll be some player to keep either out of the starting 11.
 3. Appalling reaction, appalling decision.
 4.

So when relegation comes this year on next, we will be able to debate the efficacy of McNally''s mutual ownership strategy.
You are Cluck and I claim my £5. [:S]
Highland Canary is slipping, "this year on (sic) next...." is that a hint of a possibility that we will stay up?   Are you sure he is Cluck, Lapp? I reckon that C could be the right initial...
 5.

I thought Norwich did the right thing today after going a goal down. Instead of chasing the game and being picked off on the counter we remained in the game throughout.
How so? We lost. That precludes any assumptions of doing things ''right''.
Read the post again.   Rather than going "gung-ho" and throwing people forward allowing the superior opposition players to simply play through us (Did you see Chelsea play Villa?), we stuck to the game plan, kept the game tight and looked to nick something, which, had Bassong better directed his header, we would have done.
 6.

Didn''t see the game but the number who did who picked out Turner''s performance is really encouraging. A number of sides below us look brittle and vulnerable and our defensive steel really sets us apart from them if we can keep it up. While we have let a few in of late, once we get Citeh out the way i think we can go on another run that will see us to safety while the daffodils are still out.
It''s very heartening for me that not only have the last two losses been narrow in both cases we could have nicked a point but also the gap between us and 18th remains a healthy 10 points. I think about this...... And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils.
Nowhere near safe yet. Back to back defeats, we still need 5 wins. No Ruddy, Holt not fit, Bassong not fit. 1994/5 looms large in the memory.
 7.
I think i will now have a shower and a shave and head off for the pub if this drivel is the best that people can attempt to discuss on Christmas Eve.[:(]
Happy Birthday
 8.
What pees me off is that when a player is not performing they don''t get subbed under the current regime. Aside from ifor njuries substitutions seem to be completely pointless. Howson coming on fo 10 minutes (imo Howson not looking the part by any stretch right now) Morison for Holt (in the 82nd minute) Bennett for Snodgrass (in the 90th minute)
Yep. Spot on. Since the managerial change we''ve become tactically inept and are where we are down to PURE luck. Rubbish subs, rubbish results, rubbish refs, rubbish opposition. Rightfully bottom of the league. If it wasn''t for the dying embers of the Lambert "fire in the bellies" we''d surely be on 0 points. NCFC Play Off contenders 2013-14 (New manager, board and team pending)
 9. Probably will on Boxing Day, if they can get 8 against a team like Villa, who lest we forget stuck a comfortable 4 (could have been 10) past us recently, doesn''t bode well. No Holt, No Ruddy, half fit Bassong. It''s like 94/95 all over again.
 10. De Waard... I seem to recall he described himself as being in the Ryan Giggs mould. He was awful.
 11. Antoine Sibierski was supposed to be THE capture wasn''t he? Troy Archibald-Henville was a cracking loanee along with that beautiful mover OJ Koroma. And going back a bit, didn''t Mark Farrington come with a tall reputation?
 12. Save the money for the player budget. That few quid will be even more important should we capitulate a la 94/95.
 13.

Lay off poor Highland. I think he is probably not far from being spot on. Another undeserved three points yesterday, and just look at our goal difference. It was 0 back in 94/95 and already we are at -6. If it wasn''t for how lucky we''ve been and how poorly the opposition strikers have played against us it should be around about -30 by now. Still, with Chelsea and Man City looming on the horizon, we can expect that figure to worsen considerably and see the commencement of our stone like plummet towards the trap door. QPR have started winning and unlike us, they''ve shown ambition in their appointment of Harry and in the transfer window. They''ll finish above us for sure, as will Newcastle, Villa, Reading, Southampton and of course Swansea. I''d take 19th right now. An extra few quid for the Championship budget.
Some "fans" really would be happier if we had kept Gunny and were performing at a sub par rate in League One. I feel sad for you that you claim to enjoy a game, but blatently only get enjoyment from complaining about how well we are doing.
What is blatant is that some things are more apparent to some than others. No Ruddy No Holt Half Fit Bassong QPR upwardly mobile Another skinflint January, just some more curtains for the dolls house I expect. DOOMED We could have had Fernandes, think on.

 15.
Earlier in the season my expectation was that Wigan would represent our first win of the season. Clearly, we have performed somewhat better than this and are hanging on my our fingertips. We have in the event outperformed my prediction. However, I think Wigan will win 3-1 tomorrow. We''ve ridden our luck against Sunderland and Swansea over the last two games and the reliance on essentially the same 11 is leading to player fatigue in my opinion. I''m minded to think Reading and QPR will go down with the last relegation place being contested between ourselves and Wigan. Invest in a new striker and this *may help to secure another PL season.
Totally agree with this. All our wins have been jammy, being 3-0 up away at Swansea at half-time set alarm bells ringing and I''m surprised we kept them down to 3 and only that lucky free kick (wasn''t a foul, Holt impeded the wall) dragged us over the line.   Tuesday was far more like our real level (the last 10 minutes anyway) and the players clearly didn''t care, I expect that the battering we took will be the catalyst for our league form to get back to normal with us shipping 4 or 5 most weeks.
 16.

The point about Fletcher just shows how the best coaches can still profit from their own bad luck. While Fletcher was on the field Sunderland were predictable and one dimensional. Hughton had done his homework and Fletcher was anonymous. However the enforced change with Fletcher being replaced by the lesser Wickham actually worked in Sunderlands favour. The changed their approach and Sessegnon started to be more influential. I''m sure how we reacted to this was the knowledge that we had a lead to defend and the fact that there were no goals in the second half is all credit to us.
That''s an excellent point about Fletcher Nutty. There''s no doubt that Wickham caused us more problems and I suspect that O''Neill also put a rocket up Sessegnon''s arse.
Good point indeed, not to mention that Bassong was carrying a knock for the last 35-40 minutes. If he''d been 100% I don''t think Wickham would have had the success, certainly aerially, that he did.   All that said, we held onto our lead and bagged the points. That''s the important thing.
 17.
Can''t be bothered to read the whole thread, so apologies if its already been said. Seriously, so what? If he chooses not to wear one then thats his free choice. (For the record I was in the forces for 22 years and am a member of the Royal British Legion and I didn''t buy a poppy this year, I just never got round to it. It doesn''t mean I respect the war dead any less.)
Binner
 18. Andy - What you need to do is make friends with a season ticket holder who would be happy to watch the game on telly and let you have their ticket (for a price).   They are around, some of them fund a large percentage of their ticket by "pimping it out" for a few games. Nice little ''urner.
