1. Poor old Bob, he gets a bit of a bad deal doesn''t he?   I think that it''s important to remember that:   "There is nobody at this club with more ambition than me."   Nobody.
 2. We definitely struggle without Holt. Whether they''d play together is open to debate I suppose but it would certainly strengthen the squad.
 3. I don''t really see Hooper getting a "big" move. I think he may have to adjust his sights a little, comfortably mid-table Premier League would still be a decent move for him, although I suppose he is playing Champions League football..
 4.
Somw reckon he could well have done a better job than Howson yesterday. OTBC
Who?
 5. That''s it. We''re definitely down now. We couldn''t even beat them at home, just shows the quality QPR have at their disposal. I think they''ll end up top half.
 6. Why have you omitted the years before 05 and after 09 Tangible?
 7.
I always liked KD...
That settles it. No.
 8.
Could be our latest scapegoat !
Not until Morison has gone....old habits die hard. I still find myself cursing Doherty when we concede goals, berating Andy Hughes if I see a player clap and if we put a crap cross in, well, you just know it''s Ian Henderson.
 9. Clint, just out of politeness (as I''m sure that having been to all our games, you''ll have seen us win some)   Villa - lost 4-1. Not enough said. Morison should have had a hat-trick and we created ample chances to win the game before capitulating in the last 10 minutes. West Brom - Lost 2-1 - A goal from a set piece is worth the same as an overhead kick, isn''t it? Chelsea - Lost 1-0 - to a screamer against the European Champions - I don''t recall them exactly bombarding our keeper either. Man City - Lost 4-3 - Again goals from set-pieces DO count. West Ham - Lost 2-1 - Shocking penalty decisions, second goal was a scramble, Jaaskelainen didn''t make a save but we scored, hit the post and should have had at least one penalty   Now. Goals come as a result of mistakes. When we score, often it will be the result of a mistake by an opposition player. When we concede goals it will often be the result of a mistake by one of ours. Therefore you could define all goals as being poor one way or another. Is the fact that we are decent at set plays a problem? Is the fact that we have a player scoring direct from free-kicks disastrous? I don''t recall United fans moaning about Beckham or Ronaldo or the fact that when they won the champions league in 99 the goals came from Beckham dead balls?
 10.
what because i ask a question? Obviously I want it to get better idiot but who is Hughton going to take out of the team then for a new signing? I am sure everybody would be up in arms if Holt was replaced, I just dont think anyone will come in thats all!!! We do need to strengthen but realistically who will come in to be a squad player not necessarily a first team regular?
Why are we only going to bring in squad players? And we will replace Holt one day, just like we replaced Iwan, Bellamy, Drinkell, Sutton etc. The challenge is to replace him with someone better or at least as good.   Are you on blood pressure tablets?
 11. Spot on.   I think Hughton and the board have already accepted relegation. Hughton is so stuck in his ways that he obviously doesn''t believe that it is possible to improve on this team and, more importantly, Delia has spent the transfer budget on some ornate furniture and new curtains for the Boardroom. And an ash tray for Wynnie.   If we do bring anyone in, expect it to be in preparation for next years championship season. Jamie Cureton has been banging them in for fun this season.
 12.
We have now lost 5 out of the last 6 matches, have looked second best for the most part and and have barely mustered a shot on target in several of these games (seemingly being hugely reliant on set-pieces to get goals) whilst conceding plenty of goals.
Which games were these?
 13.
Having just looked at the "highlights" I have one question, irrespective of the "blame" argument. The defender in the Kane incident doesn''t get the ball. It runs through to the keeper without either player touching it. So isn''t that either a penalty or a booking for a blatant dive? Kane has either gone down because he''s been fouled or because he''s thrown himself down.
Hughton made the same point.
 14.
now if whittaker was fit to take right back why not in the immediate short term? he is just a goal of being top scorer afterall and is finishing more lethally than the nominated strikers. what could we lose if we tried?
All credibility?   Stick Bassong up there with him, he''s got a few too....if only Malky was still here....
 15. Chris Sutton was a defender....   I''d try Tettey in goal too.
 16.
Hate to agree with Alan Brazil but he has us in the relegation mix - listening on TalkSport at the mo. Hopefully, the alarm bells are sounding at Carra and Colney. Begs the question which of Lawro and Brazil is the more informed pundit. Probably, Brazil unfortunately. Anyone remember Brazil''s miss in the FA cup 5th round in 83 when he scooped the ball over the bar from inside the 6 yard box? Great 1-0 win:-) happy days
I wouldn''t be surprised if you WERE Alan Brazil....
 17. Au contraire mon ami. I have been since and, unlike some, I stayed for the duration.. My sister will be there today, make sure the dawg is on a leash....
 18. No, the foul you so eloquently described in your own inimitable loquacious way, was the foul on Russell Martin. The one that resulted in the booking of the cleverly cynical Eden Hazard. I''m sure if you look far enough back in the season, Howson has been fouled, however as this won''t be the incident in question, irrespective of the modus operandi, I think you''ll find it isn''t admissible. Anyway, from my superior vantage point, as in I could see the players squad number, it was definitely Martin. From St Andrews Hall it might as well have been the Housemartins....
 19. So now you''ve researched it, you were wrong...amazing what a bit of investigation can do... Tomorrow I''ve sold my ticket to a mildly disabled, one-eyed leper from a disadvantaged single parent family. I sold it to him for a tenner and then bought him some food for his three legged dog and put a fiver on his electric. Cost me £14 so I''m actually out of pocket. But, it''s worth it to see his cleft palate smile. Anyway, nice to see you admit that you were wrong and I, as usual, was right...;-)
 20. Is Jackson really as quick as everyone makes out?   I mean, while he is no slouch he wouldn''t have the pace of a Bellamy or an Eadie and I remember him being readily outpointed by Distin for pace when we first signed him.   I''m just not sure he is quick enough to worry top flight defenders.
 21. Losing 1-0 instead of 4-0 or even 8-0 could be like an extra point, long term it could be, in effect, be like we had nicked the 1-1.   Villa suddenly find themselves with a -21 goal difference, they now need to pick up the deficit in points and a big swing in goal difference to catch us. I do understand the "But it was only 1-0 we could have grabbed something..." mentality, however as someone mentioned on another thread, the main difference between Chelsea and ourselves was possession, the way they retained the ball and we, at times, gave it away cheaply.   That''s almost true. The main difference between the two teams was that they have superior players. Better technicians, better first touches, better passers, better movement. Playing the way we did kept us in with a shout of getting something right to the whistle, if we''d have opened the game up to try and force the issue, they''d have picked us off at will. Look at how we capitulated in the last 10 against Villa when we changed tack because we had to (1 off cup game is a different proposition), even they picked us off with ease on the break.   Hughton is more astute than he gets credit for, certainly on here.
 22.
I now think we are talking about 2 seperate incidents as Howson was blatently fouled as he was making progress through centre midfield and was cynically tripped with Holt to his left and Snodgrass on wide right.
The cynical trip was on Martin. That''s the one where we were breaking and Hazard clipped his heels "taking one for the team" on halfway.   Martin WAS the player fouled. Like I said. Christ, you can''t even get your shoes to match, like you could see something from 40 yards away....anyway, wasn''t it a bit late in the game for you or wasn''t there a concert this week...?   [:$]
 23.
Have you borrowed Dr Craftys computer Duncan ? Errr it was Howson who was fouled in the centre circle by the way.
90:00 +0:31 Booking Booking The referee shows Eden Hazard a yellow card for unsporting behaviour. 90:00 +0:22 Eden Hazard gives away a free kick for an unfair challenge on Russell Martin.
 24.

My only beef with yesterday, when Howson was breaking and Oscar(I Think) blatanly trip him. This to me is a professional foul and should result in a sending off as it stopped all our momentum. - you see so many sending offs for genuine attempts at getting the ball nowadays and this just gets a booking.
Good point. This certainly fell in the ''I''ll take one for the team'' catagory, and as you say certainly breaks up play. Perhaps one or two brave Refs should red card this sort of challenge and then watch how quickly it stops this cynical challenge happening in matches.
Christ, good job you two don''t officiate...Russell Martin was the player fouled, god knows who you''d end up booking and sending off!!!! 😉
