Hi all. I don’t post much (slow typer) but have to come to Ruddy’s defence. A pen and 2 deflections conceded don’t mean he is to blame – does it? . In particular the Brum 1st goal was right in front of me. He was going the right way till the ball was deflected. Even then he managed to change direction and get hands to the ball. A spinning wet ball. Another game and it would have stuck in his hands, go the other side of the post or stay within reach for him to have a second grab. I don’t see this is a reason for blame any more than a striker missing if under pressure or slipping as he takes a shot.   Disappointing home results but recently but performance and effort encouraging for the rest of a long season.

Spencer, your horrible scenario. I was thinking something similar. How about O''Neill to Spurs, Lambert to Sunderland? O''Neill has been known to bugger off. May be tempted. However, I don’t really think Sunderland have more to offer Lambert than us. A bigger budget perhaps but is that what he is strongest with?

Do Lambert have any experience of handling any high value players? I think not. So this may cause big clubs to be a bit weary of him for now. I would hope so at least.  Do Swansea panic about losing Brenan Rogers?

I don’t mind MOD admiring the Swans play but, “their possession and little triangles” is getting a little tedious. I thought a lot of our play is like that but we are even better on the break. I’m sure we will both stay up and we have both set examples in good management and team spirit. Swansea are remarkable at home so far and I would not be surprised if they finish just above us. 8th with us 9th. Saturday will be very interesting. Especially Shearer and Lawrenson''s comments if we win! Lovely little triangles !!

I actually can understand a pitch invasion at Hillsborough due to the great relief felt at staying up. That don’t mean I condone it if it turns into a battle with the opposing fans, police, officials or anyone else. Our spill onto the pitch was a bit crudely planned, un-spontaneous but in good spirit, I would hope. I’m sure most who ran onto the pitch at our match had no ill intensions and just wanted something to laugh about with their mates, and tell their grandchildren of the great pitch invasion of 2010.

This just looks like an excuse for people to have a moan about the club when there has been little else this season to express their undying dislike of the board. Do we actually know if this is fact? Are some of us jumping the gun in our judgement?  However, if banning orders are to be issued I would hope it’s not a blanket ban for all of those who “invaded” but a measured view is taken. Assaults should be dealt with firmly but for those who made it to the pitch maybe a warning letter would be appropriate.   There were warnings and I can’t see the spillage onto the pitch as being spontaneous. Some had spoken of an invasion some time before the match. It was a satisfying win and a time for celebration but hardly a relief after an exciting game. If it had been a last minute winner clinching promotion I could understand the utter excitement which could overwhelm a good number of people who would want to rush the players maybe.   It was just a none event and was unnecessary. No need to hit a steward who is only doing his/her job. “Excitement” is no excuse to hit out. Just to balance things, I think some stewards may have been a little heavy handed. The guy who ran out to the team on the lap of honour from the Jarrold was, IMO, pushed more than needed to get him off the pitch. He was on his way back to the stand but still got a push and shove from a couple of stewards when just being ushered would have been enough.   Lets not pre judge.

Score predictions a bit of a lottery this time of the season. The form book goes out of the window and every game is a cup game. Take a look at the Tranmere, Stockport, MK Donkeys and last nights predictions, if only! No easy games left now but I hope a win at Charlton, but not optimistic, will relax the team and we will go on to win another couple at least. Would like to see some nice performances again but will settle for any scrappy points.

Yes a bit nervous. No easy games left now in my opinion, having to play 2 teams fighting relegation, another fighting to hold there place in the top 6 and Bristol who may just be relaxed enough to upset us for their last home game.  If we need something out of the Carlisle match it may be more than my nails I will be biting. I fear a loss at Charlton and Bristol. I’m not being negative, just nervous. Form doesn’t really count for much this time of the season. Beware of the end of season shocks. Remember we beat Man U late on. We should have beaten the Trannies and MK Donkeys. I know the ref beat us too but that can happen again. We could have scored 4 or 5 in both those games but there were good goal line clearances and good keeping. Not enough safety net games left for shocks! Yes a bit nervous.

Most of your posts make some sense but this is just the work of a complete nob. If what you say is to hold water then only “true” supporters should go to the matches! So what was attendance like back in the day when some now league clubs were in the conference or whatever amateur league it may have been? Did support not increase as they had more success? As for me I’m just a “glory hunter” Got my first half season ticket in the promotion season. Still a season ticket holder way down in the 3rd div. What does that make me? Actually three of us ticket holders now. Don’t post like a twit Brenda.

I tend to agree Yorkshire. I think the Southampton match could be tricky for us so a point may have to do. I would settle for an average of 2 points per game for the rest of the season.

Love the music adds to the atmosphere, everyone join in, don’t they?   But, if it were to be changed, how about the Benny Hill chase music!! Complete with some totty suitably attired to dash about the pitch. Quite right Squire. I’m sure you, like all of us don’t want to stay down here, but for me I have loved the buzz, smiles and optimism about the ground on match day. The kill joy doom and gloom “it could all go wrong, don’t get carried away” glass half empty posters seem to miss the point. Its been great football, compared to recent seasons, so lets enjoy it for what its worth. Hopefully all the good play will lead to promotion which is what we all want. Don’t we? If we had stayed up that would probably have meant another relegation battle because the legend would have hung on to the managers job. We are where we are so lets just enjoy it while it looks good. I dont understand why peaople still see Doc as a liabillity. He has been solid in this seasons success so why hoof him out when we are doing well. Is it just because some people cant accept that he is having a good season? I feel he started to improve with his distribution towards the end of last season and was a better CB than Shackell. For me the big positive move was the appointment of McNally. This of course was preceded with realisation by DS and MWJ that Mumby and, in particular, Doncaster had no more idea about running a football club than they themselves have. Unlike some or maybe most, I don’t really lay all the blame at Delia’s door. She owns the club as a supporter as much as anything and appoints professionals to run the business. I think she was just too trusting and supportive of Mumby and Doncaster for far too long. Our last match in the Championship changed that.    What amazes me is the how decisive DS/MWJ were in clearing out the board and in finding such a positive replacement. McNally’s first interviews suggested he was very much interested in making football a priority and I guessed he would not be very tolerant of Gunn. I think Gunn may have been on his way earlier if not for the “decent” pre season results.   I think the rest so far is history. It looks like lessons have been learnt, if a little belated.   ………………………………………………………………………………………   Is this the right room for an argument? I told you once! No you did’nt. Yes I did.

Relegation was a blessing as it has turned out, so far. It felt pretty bad at the time, it left a bitter taste in my mouth, to use the “great man’s” (BG) words. I couldn’t believe that comment of his. 25,000 of us had a bitter taste after the Charlton match thanks to his flaccid and inept idea of football management. I have am sure that DS and MWJ looked at each other and realised where the problems really were. The sitting CE, Mr Smiley, Mr “It’s not as bad as it looks”, Mr “We are not near administration” Mr bloody Doncaster. Probably Delia’s best decision has been to sack the board. She did at last see where our problems were coming from. She took the bull by the horns, fired and hired decisively. This would not have happened if we had stayed up. McNally is what’s led to some strength in the club. Doomcaster would have continued feed Gunn’s ego, tell him he’s doing so well!! He just looked at attendances ignoring results and performances. No ambition concerning football at NCFC. I’m guessing Delia has told McNally to do what ever he needs to do to get the football right. I’m guessing, again, that she doesn’t get involved in the football management side of the club and that she trusted Doncaster to do that for her. He failed. He let his boss down and 25,000 + supporters. Delia has aimed a bit higher with the type of person she trusts with her club this time round. So, relegation has been a plus. However, if we were in mid table obscurity of the Championship I’m sure we would have been relieved that we stayed up. But I think mid table would be too optimistic with Mr and Mrs Floppy (Gunn/Doncaster) at the helm. Wonderful season so far but I’m still so nervous.

Yes it was a poor match and we expect more after such a good run. But is it really the end of the new manager syndrome, so suddenly after so many games? We have players who seem to be willing, in most games to fight to the end for the club. The same players who done little more than just trot about the pitch for our previous new manager, Gunn. I think the NM Syndrome lasted just the one match with him. But he was just Mr Floppy Lettuce when it comes to management and I guessing had little respect from professional players. I’m sure Lambert has more substance and can motivate a team over a number of seasons not a number of weeks. I watched the match (sort of still by still as it was on the net) and could see the same performance as we all did. But we all have our views on why things were so disappointing. In my view it was bound to happen. We were going to lose a game at some time soon, although it shouldn’t have been this one. We didn’t go out to throw it away. Lambert would not have wanted that. And even more importantly McNally will probably give Lambert a slap for missing out on more vital funds. Doomcaster, another member of the salad family, would have just said never mind its only football, there’s plenty to be happy about.   At the moment I’m in the half full glass camp. The management we have I’m sure will get the best out of whet ever is available as a team. I happen to think our best asset off pitch is McNally. He will scorch Lamberts bum if things go too wrong and will not be afraid to put pressure on Delia.
