1. I can,t see what is wrong with England saying they are ready in 2022 if need be. If it is found that bribary played a sig part in securing it for Quatar, then they shouldn,t be hosting it. In my opinion Englands bid was the best one and we were due getting it here. Germany has hosted it twice and England is very much a traditional football nation with all the infrastructure in place. We simply played it straight and didn,t cheat. What worth fair play on the pitch if football is rotten at the highest level. Add to that all the health issues of playing in Quatar for players and fans, and the appaling working conditions for the practically slave workforce building the stadia, and i think England would be wrong not to offer a solution should the powers that be reject Quatar.
2. A friend of mine tells a story of someone he knows, a Swiss national, who worked for Fifa at the time the USA hosted the world cup in 94. They were emloyed in an accountacy role (a fairly junior one i believe). They were told to fly out to the US and deliver a briefcase. In the briefcase was a large amount of money they had to hand over to someone. Wanting to keep their job they did as they were told, and asked no questions. Seems a strange way to transfer money in this day and age doesn,t it?
3. It was expensive. Took my own food, bought for a fraction at supermarmket. Did fork out for a beer, but no complaints as fully ezxpected at Wembley. Also took my own water bottle as anticipated a long dehydrating jorney etc. Just takes a bit of thinking ahead if you want to save money. Plus how can you be unhappy on such a fantastic day.
4. Yep. They have handled it well.Great credit to them. I would just also like to say that i hope, even those who did miss out this time on tickets, have a great day watching in the pubs and at home. Should be a great day however you watch it. OTBC
5. If you were to draw a line down a sheet of paper and all to right of line were plastics and all to left authentic fans. Where would most people sit? Sure, to the far right would be people who dont even understand football from rugby, and further in, the people who say they support norwich if pushed, but really prefer motor sport etc, but most people would probably be clustered around the middle, either just one side of the line or other. ()I know season tickets and reg away fans would be on farleft of the line. Good on yer). Personally, i welcome anyone who shows interest in the club. Remember that some of todays plastics could turn into tommorows die hard fans once they get the bug, and events like Wembley appearances and Euro runs, etc etc have lead to the fan base we have now. And i can remember us struggling to get 13000 to 14000 reg fans in the 70,s. Lets all just enjoy being fans of our club in whatever way we do it.
6. We are at home. Away was last week.......Unless of course you are from Ipwich, in which case you are unlikely to get a ticket with your lot by posting on a norwich fans site.
7. Oh i,d never have thought of that Mr B. I think the point is there arn,t any. (Well not for Norwich fans anyway) And i have bought him a few this season. Actually i took him down to portaloo a few years ago, and we went in the family area.
8. Well my 14 year old would love to go if he had a ticket!
9. Yes you are right 1 0 was score in first leg
10. I was wondering what people think will be the binner,s approach to the semis. McCarthy knows how we are a better side man for man, so what will be his game plans, and how do we ensure we get through over two legs. I remember losing 2 0 in first leg 85 but keeping it tight after that, to ensure we got best chance and beat them at home which we did of course. Will they go all guns blazing early on a bit like Boro, get a goal and sit onit for rest of tie. Dont think they are good enough to do this mind.
11. So if everything were to stay the same except Brentford getting another goal, who would finish 5Th and who 6th? Brentford and Ippo would have same points and same goal diff i think.
12. Could be Ipswich, could be Derby. If ipswich lose at Blackburn, as they might well, then it could easily be the Rams we meet in semis. Which wold you rather it be?
13. Agreed. At end of the day. Whoever we play will give it there all. We are capable of beating any of them, and i still think we will get there.
14. Hmmm Brentford? We,d need a much better performance than we produced at Carrow Road against them.
15. In all honesty, its not meeting them that worries me most. Its the prospect of either Borough or Derby in the final. Especially Borough. But if thats whats in store, we can do it.
16. Well done Watford. Not sorry to see you go up at all.A good friend of mine at work is a Watford fan and i,m pleased for him as he,s had a crap year with health issues and deseves something to go his way this year.My sisters husband is also a Hornets fan. So some of the family are happy. (On the other hand all my wife''sfamily are Sunderland fans, so can,t see them being so happy). Just sorry we cant really make automatic promotion now. But gotta be glass half full. We will win playoffs and beat Ipswich ()again) on the way. Now thats a good season!
17. Don,t mind if the surprise involves us getting two early goals to ease the tension, followed by a couple more in the second half to help the goal difference. But we rarely get that sort of game. So i anticipate more bitten nails and edge of the seat nerves, as i listen on the radio, heart in mouth.
18.
Failure at Wigan, coupled with unfinished business with Cardiff and the FA, is not a good combination on a CV for any football manager. Can''t really see that anybody would want to risk him with that kind of baggage.
Agreed. Maybe a scottish smaller club or abroad somewhere. But still got a hunch he will be successfull in the end. Could be wrong of course.
19. Don,t think we,ve heard the last of him as a manager. Bit of time and ithink he will come good again,. Just a hunch, but i think hes a strong character and his experiences will make him a better manager in the future.
20. Yeh, we were going to lose him for a couple of matches And if he hadn,t got the yellow today, i think he would have done next or at Leeds. Either way we,d miss him for Boro game. Sure, we wouldn,t want to lose him for any game, but as that scenario is unlikely, personally, i,m glad he will be back for next home game. We should have enough cover in our squad to still pick up what we need at Bolton and Leeds.
21. Always amazes me how many people travel away. How much would it cost, cheapest way possible, for one adult and one under16 to travel there and back match tickets included. All credit to those who go and give the team their support in such large numbers cos we,re going to need it in all of the rest of our games now.OTBC!
22. 5 miles from Nrwich now - must be on the old railway line Marriott Way
23. Just been looking at their site on facebook. I think there are about 13 of them made the walk from Villa Park to Norwich and they are nearly here. Doing the walk in honour of young boy called Harry Mossley who died of Cancer a little while ago but who raised thousands of pounds for charity before he died. These lads have done a great job in walking to Norwich since Tuesday. Hope Norwich fans can give em a good welcome cvos they deserve it. (Sure we would hope the same had they been City fans going the other way!). On facebook, there is a picture of the roadsign sayin 10 miles to Norwich (4 miles to Taverham). So they are nealy here. Not sure where they headed, but i''d buy em a pint if i knew!  (Still hope we beat em tommorow of couse)
