1. I''d just like to add my voice to the [short] list of people annoyed that so many people assume Worthy never even considered signing players like Koumas and Ifil. How does anybody know with 100% certainty that he didn''t make enquiries? I know 100% that Worthy never considered Koumas, because I asked Neil Doncaster at the Fat Cat in the summer while we were having an informal get together. He said "Koumas is not a player Nigel would consider having at the club". As for Ifill Worthy said in May/June sometime that nothing would happen until July. So while he was mincing about on his hols, Warnock stepped in and signed Ifill. So either, the board wouldn''t pay an extra months wages so they could get their guy, or Worthy was told not to sign someone until July.
2.
Cheers Meeky , Long time no see - do you still frequent the Eaton?  I hear congratulations are in order?!?!  How worthy has fallen in my opinion - unfortunatly it seems the blinkers have come on him - And I used to think we had a top manager.
No probs. I don''t frequent the Eaton as much, but normally pop in on a Tuesday after work. Tend to use the Rosary, as it''s only 30 seconds from my door. Cheers for the congrats. Totally fed up with this season already, and we''ll still only have mid table mediocrity to look forward to. We may be only 3 points behind Preston, but they have a game in hand and a far superior goal difference, so it''s more like 7 points and we have to play them away yet as well. Best indicator of how well we''re doing will be when we play Watford and Reading later this month. Might go to Reading if you want a lift?
3. Home - Rosary Road (ideal for footie, pubs and shopping) Work - Bowthorpe (ideal for ....well nothing really)
4. Sorry Squit. But what Paul says is the truth. I''ve known him about 5 years and in all that time he gas been a season ticket holder. I''ve never known him to miss many games and can see his point about not going last week. We''ve even been to pre season friendlies together.
5. Erm Safri anyone? He may be out of sight but not out of mind already?
6. Not too tired to go out in the City afterwards last night. Mind you, I think I would feel like I needed a good night out after performing like that yesterday.
7. I''m certainly not looking at it through green and yellow glasses (even though I''m a fan), but looking at it through a business perspective. Carry on like we are and we will no longer have a business, a business can not afford to lose its best assets, replace them with mediocre ones and expect to stay successful. I have an 80 thousand pound machine here at my unit, if I was to replace that with something far inferior I would soon be out of business. Myself and my business partner started the business five years ago with a five year plan, which was presented to the bank to enable us to get the finance. If my business was now back where we started five years ago, the bank would be looking at our sit u ation very seriously now (notmean?) , and I think the board should be having a long hard look at the long term now as well. They are sitting quite comfortably at the moment as they already have our money for this season, the crunch will come when season ticket sales/ merchandising etc have fallen and we have run out of parachute money. I am not running about like a headless chicken, but I am concerned about which direction our club are going, and I do not like what I see.
8. Between six and seven million I believe.
9. Good report once again. You lasted a lot longer than Gazza and me. We left when the second goal went in, as a port and brandy was calling from the pub! We happened to look at the scoreboard and saw it was 3 nil as we were walking up the road.
10.
One or two posters mentioned an anti-Worthy protest after the Southampton game. Did it happen? I can''t imagine more than 10 or 12 people took part if it did  - they would have looked pretty silly after a great result like that
No protests after the game, but there was plenty of the WO faction in the pubs before and after handing out stickers and flyers, and this will carry on in the forseeable future. Two swallows doesn''t make a summer (might make a marriage though!). We now have a quite difficult run of games coming up in a short space of time, it will be interesting come 5pm on January 2nd and seeing where we are then.
11. Ha ha ha just love this bit! "Think i''m going to have to stick up for squit here, anyone wanting less than a win is bloody stupid!!!  and Beno, your comment on chelsea is the biggest load of rubbish ever, we were never expected to beat chelsea last year, though we could and should beat everyone in this league. "   Especially the could and should bit! So that''s why we have failed to beat anybody above us in the league this season? We have now got a tough run of games coming up. Soton, Blades, Burnley (Akinbyi hat trick anyone?) Leics and Preston. Possible 15 points, 3 games at home and 2 away. When playing well I would expect at least a draw from the 2 away games and 7 points from the 3 home games, so 9 from 15. At this moment in time I would be ecstatic if we got that, but realistically expect us to get 6 points from 15.
12. No passion eh? Bit difficult when we''ve just had 4 away games on the trot! Wait til Saturday and you will see our foot soldiers everywhere, distributing flyers and car stickers in numerous outlets, and in the stands. As it''s a home game it will be the ideal opportunity to get the message across. Can I interest you in a Worthy Out car sticker?   By the way if anyone wants one send me a PM http://yourchoices.org.uk/prints.htm
13. The thing that annoys me about this whole Ashton business is ... Is that if you are trying to sell something you want to push the price up. Now every club in the Premiership knows there is a deal to be done and that we''re looking to sell and you can probably wipe a good £1m of his sale price. You can''t blame Ashton for saying what he thinks, after all he wouldn''t have joined us in January if he''d have realised that we''d be where we are now. the last thing he wants to do is to act loyal now and then look like a bar steward if he leaves in January. He joined us to take a step forward in his career, based on goals and league position he is worse off than he was a year ago at Crewe! How many other managers do you here saying that they are considering selling their best players? Can you imagine Ian Dowie or Simon Jordon openly admitting to be looking for offers for Andy Johnson, of course not. We look amateur and Quote 1 We''d be stupid to consider selling him in January, his goals would be worth £25m to us if we gets us promoted and nobody is going to bid that for him. Quote 2 Every player has his price and its up to the buying clubs to come up with an offer that is acceptable and then we''ll sit down and consider it. The difference is that Quote 1 comes from Alan Pardew when we were rumoured to be after Marlon Harewood this time last year, Pardew is king of the sound bite and spin, whereas Worthington lacks the nouse to play mind games, you saw during the interview with McCoist that at one point he was completely stuck as to what to say next and it was his sentence. The other thing that annoys me is that when we sell Ashton in the January we may get £3m-£4m to spend, however ever club in the country will know that we have cash to burn. Eastwood, Trundle, Halford etc will all of a sudden become £1.5m players. David Connelly to Wigan for £3m springs to mind. (oh its wigan they''ve got plenty of cash to spare). By the time a bidding war starts and is concluded for Ashton it will be mid January, every team will know that we''re desperate for a striker to replace Ashton and then we''ll get ripped off because they''ll know we need to get it sorted in just a couple of weeks. (That is of course if the best strikers in the lower divisions haven''t been snapped up in early January while we are still trying to get as much for Ashton as possible) Clubs after Ashton will know that we want to find a replacement asap and as such will know that time is against us and the longer it drags on the more desperate we''ll be to get something finalised. Worthington hasn''t got his tactics right off the field, in the summer we heard all about how May and June were going to be quiet and that things wouldn''t start until July, yet Sheffield Utd went out and splashed the cash in June and bought a right winger and a forward whilst Worthy was still mincing about on holiday.
14. I don''t think he''ll go anywhere, I don''t know why it''s just a hunch.
15. Yes he did, and he''s managed to coach all of his natural ability out of him. With  proper coaching and service (like he got at Crewe) he would be scoring 30 goals a season. Crikey, he had 20 odd before he left Crewe last season and got 6 in 12 games in the Premiership for us. So we sell him for 8 mil after paying 3 mil, after giving Crewe their 20% of the profit (= 1 mil), that''ll give us 4+ mil to spend. I wouldn''t trust worthy with 4 quid!
16. Can''t take the credit for this, as I nicked it off another site, but it is a classic   As it''s that time of the year (oh yes it is) there''s a pantomime on at Carrow Road this year. Runs from August through to May. Not one for the kids though as not very funny. Same old pantomime jokes being used such as ''Look out, he''s behind you''. Producer was dressed up in white socks and he also appeared on stage as the comedian. Several actors fluffed their lines and several others performed roles they''re not suited to. One was so bad he was replaced two minutes before the end of the show but it was too late to make any difference. Main excuse for a poor show was that several of the performers fell off the stage in rehearsals and injured themselves. They were replaced by performers who weren''t good enough to get a place in other shows. There were a few kids in the first half of the show but they didn''t appear in the second half and are now mostly appearing in other pantomimes where they are doing very well having been given proper tuition and encouragement by other stage producers. Not much variety in the show. Seemed to rely on one theme - keep throwing the beans to Jack and hopefully he''ll do something with one of them in the end. Poor co-ordination amongst the cast as well. None of them seemed sure what each other was supposed to be doing. Afterwards they all said they were totally behind the producer and it was their fault they got it wrong. However, my mate went to the next show and said it was no better. Bookings for later on in the season are now down as word gets around that it''s a poor show. The owners of the the theatre don''t seem capable of making any changes to improve things although everyone knows a change of producer would improve the show. Perhaps they''ll wake up when next year''s show is on the end of the pier and no-one turns up. Ah well never mind. Think I''ll go to the football next weekend.

18.
Tonight will be the night when we kick start their season, as we have done with many others already.
Told ya!
19. Tonight will be the night when we kick start their season, as we have done with many others already.
20. We''ll have to get in quick then as the deadline is on Thursday. Taken from the BBC site Deadline looms for loan transfers Football League clubs face a late scramble to complete emergency loan deals before Thursday''s deadline. After 1700 GMT on Thursday, no additional loan signings can be registered until the transfer window opens on 1 January. Clubs will be allowed to extend existing loans and to sign goalkeepers in exceptional circumstances. Spokesman John Nagle confirmed that all emergency loans must be registered by the fourth Thursday in November.
21.
it can happen if spurs cancell marneys loan
Can''t see that happening mate. Season long loan and we''re paying his wages. Just look at the Bentley situation last season, we had to pay his wages while he was out for 12 weeks or so. Just because Mr Worthless decided to play our complete first team in a meaningless FA cup game against West Ham, when he should have been looking at surviving in the Prem. But hey, let''s not go there shall we? Otherwise I''ll still be typing at midnight!
22.
might come to nothing. Rasiak of spurs before the weekend on loan?
Not going to happen I''m afraid. Only two players from one club allowed at a time.   http://www.confguide.com/newsArticle.do?id=1385
23.
I''ll believe it when I see it Meeks. The guy who posted this rumour didn''t seem to want to give a source
Very rarely been wrong before. But like you, I will wait and see. Prefer to see him than Primus or Eastwood.
24. I give you Dickson Etuhu! Still, got to be better than some of the poo we have in midfield at the moment!
25. Can''t say I''m hoping for a Luton win, but I have resigned myself to the fact that they will probably beat us anyway. Then we''ll lose a scrappy game against Millwall away, which should be enough to force the boards hand.
