  1. I think a simple "Wolfswinkel, na na na na na" (without the Van) would work better though. Bit less of a mouthful
  2. I really like it! Good effort! Now if only we could get it started at a match.....
  3. quote user = BW''s Cat "It''s no problem at all chicken, it''s all just a touch of fun. I took it too seriously earlier" I''m glad you see it that way :) just having a laugh For the record I don''t think your Holt thread was bad, your opinion is just and reasonable. Personally I''ve appreciated Holt''s work ethic for the majority of the season but recently he''s looking a bit heavy (which isn''t very professional) and hasn''t taken his chances. I hope his time on the bench vs Sunderland will give him a kick up the arse. At this level he needs to retain top fitness and remain sharp. I think Holt thrives on goals and the crowd so I imagine he''s feeling frustrated at the moment, which could be affecting his drive.
  4. For ages we had to put up idiotic posts from BW, only for his cat to join the forum too. BW''s Cat hasn''t been half as annoying but this season his posts have been sluggish and uninspiring, bar a short time at the start of the season. Yesterday he could have been sent off to a cat shelter for diving his claws two footed into a Sunderland fan. Now I don''t know what the problem is. Perhaps BW is asking him to play a different role on the forum this season which has inhibited his good qualities, or perhaps he has packed on the pounds because his diet has switched from freshly cooked chicken to fast food such as Go Cat and Whiskers. Rumour has it Mrs Cat has moved up north with the kittens so he''s has been marauding the shelves of Tesco''s. Who knows, maybe he has also been at the Catnip. Time to wish him well and for BW to sell him for some £££ in my opinion.
  5. Quote Mister Chops "It''s the Pink Un, Josh. Reading have a new manager, they will start playing like champions and win all their remaining games. Aston Villa have Lambert in charge, he knows no fear and is never beaten and they will beat us at Carrow Road. QPR are on the up and have Harry Redknapp in charge, they must therefore be fine. Trust me, we''re nailed on for the drop along with two other clubs I haven''t named." Yup, I''m not sure why I put there energy into replying actually, I''m sure it will be like getting through to a brick wall. Nevertheless, I''m sure some of the more grounded posters here will agree with what I said :)
  6. I''ve never read such a load of sensationalist bilge in all my life. The Pinkun has sunk to new lows. We have only lost 3 games in the last 10 (with 2 of the defeats coming to ManU and Liverpool), but apparently certain posters see us as dead certs for the drop. I can only conclude that your lives are dead and empty, so you feel the need to create some needless groundless drama to enrich it. Perhaps the doom posters should consider journalist careers for the Daily Star or something, you have a talent for creating a storm in a teacup based on no tangible evidence, you could sell papers for sure. Be objective. We currently DO NOT look like a side who is going to get relegated (yes we do not score many goals but our confidence is not low and we are defending well). If our heads were down then I''d be worried, but they are not. We also have an easy run in. We play Reading, Swansea, Villa and West Brom at home, and Sunderland, Wigan and Stoke away. You couldn''t ask for a better run in. We''re averaging over a point a game (for the season AND the last 10 games). So if you fail to see how we can''t pick up at least 4-5 points, then you doom posters must be drama queens. We will beat reading (this will be the game where we score a goal or 2), and pick up some draws elsewhere (most likely 0-0''s). Now that is a realistic scenario ;)
  7. Cheers. Sent a PM but as the thread has over 150 views I''m not too hopeful.
  8. Please PM me or text on 07745649088 if you have one spare, thank you.
  9. So we stopped Sunderland scoring in the 2nd half via some top notch defending and we didn''t deserve to win? Utter lunacy. We are now a good defensive team under Hughton so perhaps he isn''t too concerned about sitting back a bit on a lead instead of making offensive substitions. Seems to be working so far!
  10. All this talk about "could haves, should haves and would haves", constantly reflecting on missed chances and which personal to replace (despite being 9 unbeaten) is insufferable! Those of you who think like this will NEVER be satisfied, and frankly, that''s a shame. I''m sorry to say we won''t win every game, and missed opportunities IS PART OF FOOTBALL. Versus Sunderland I happen to think our final balls were better. Just stop analyzing, leave it to the manager and enjoy the ride. It''s the same for all teams. Imagine being a Man City fan, they probably think they should be on maximum points by now as "our deliveries was poor in that game we drew, Tevez missed a sitter, Aguero missed 2 chances, if only Mancini played Dzeko we would. have won.." We''re all biased towards our teams. We all think there is room for improvement but if you''re making a big issue over it on an internet forum, after 9 games unbeaten, I think it''s time to turn off the computer, go outside and GET LAID.
  11. It must suck to be the OP. How glass half empty can you get! We were exceptional in tbe first half and that was enough to win us the match.
  12. Yeh he is suffering due to Hughton''s new tactics but I still think he''s our best bet for goals regardless, just as long as he can get the service. As you''ve said, I''d like a change of personel on the wings at some point, Bennet maybe. Would be nice if he got 20 mins today at least. Much prefer Holt to start than Morison anyway. He had 4 goals in 4 games at one point this season, he must be due some today I hope.
  13. Remember Holt had only scored 4 goals in his frist 18 Premier League appearances last season, and we all know what happened after that! I wouldn''t be worried just yet, as he''s actually doing no worse than he did this time last season.
  14. I think some people need to be patient as see this as "work in progress under Hughton. We are doing remarkably well considering the players we have. Lets be honest, in my opinion anyway, I don''t think we have a Premiership quality winger. Bennett, Pilks and Snoddy are decent but all 3 have their limitations. Pilks has the most potential but if we can plug away till the end of the season and survive then we will have some genuine spending money for better quality wingers next summer now we are debt free. With better delivery from the wings, Holt will get more service and score more goals. We wouldn''t even be having this discussion.

  16. [quote Morison''s Prozac] "Behind Rooney, RVP and Welbeck in the pecking order and not getting game time. By spending a season on loan at us he could have a stellar season and attract some of the other bigger clubs to clamour ofr his signature at the end of the season. Not any more farfetched than West Ham signing Carroll or Reading signing Pogrebniak(sp?) so not exactly unimaginable but I guess you suffer with a small club mentality like many of our fans sadly" Not small club mentality, perhaps our owners just are mindful of becoming the next Pompey? Old bacon face (Fergie) would have to sanction it but he likes having 4 strikers fighting it out for a starting position (think 1999 when they had Yorke, Cole, Solskjaer and Sheringham when going for the treble). At the moment Rooney is probably out for 2 months, RVP could break at any moment given his injury record and they have just sold Berbatov to Fulham. This leaves Welbeck and Kagawa (as a support striker/attacking mid). They need Hernandez unfortunately. If he went anywhere on loan I''d suspect it would be to a relatively big European club (think Macheda to Sampdoria last season). Carroll has left because he doesn''t suit Rodgers brand of football remember, Hernandez definitely suits Manchester United''s attacking style of play.
  17. Irritating ex lower league football agent and ex tyre fitter turned premiership footballer in need of a final pay day meets hard nosed chief executive for contract talks. It''s not necessarily guarenteed to go smoothly is it? We can analyze this all day long but lets face it, there was a clash of views and opinions and the whole saga was quite pathetic really. And for the record, my opinion of Grant Holt is no lower than it was. I think he just got impatient that''s all. I doubt that he consciously meant to disrespect his fellow pros. If McNally was promising him contract talks early on that it''s not his fault, perhaps he just felt put out. If Holt had used his brain more then maybe he could have timed his transfer request better. But since when have footballers been known to use their brains? I swear some people on here expect him hold a Doctorate in human relations or something. And who knows what his agent was trying to instigate. Lets get back to focusing on what Grant Holt is good at. Being a fantastic footballer for Norwich City Football Club. I don''t doubt he ever truly wanted to leave us. He loves this club, but for whatever reason he obviously felt he needed to give his family some extra security. I''m glad the club has given him it. He''s always given us 100% and will continue to do so. He could have probably earned more elsewhere so he has shown us some loyalty. And Jas, since when did Holt hold us to ransom and put us through the dirt? There was nothing to stop the club selling him for a decent fee, he didn''t hold that much power over us! I''ve been reading your posts for years and often thought of you as a decent poster, but you are turning into the next BW, don''t let it happen! :P
  18. I guess it''s not worth considering that we still have just under 2 month''s left to spend out budget, is it BW?
  19. quote "AndyCanary" Leon Best having a medical at Blackburn - Sky Sports NewsAn extra 2 words that would have saved everyone who reads this topic thinking you''re a dweeb. The irony is now people think you''re the dweeb for having no sense of humour ;)
  20. @cityangel Remember he would get taxed 50% on £15k, so that''s 7.5k. Then probably 10% to his agent, so 6.75k per week. Over 52 weeks that''s 351k a year. He''s had this contract for a year so maybe he''s saved 275-300k. His prior 2 years were on a league 1 contract which I suspect would have been under half what he''s currently on so I doubt he''s saved that much. Perhaps 200k over those 2 years? So maybe he''s saved 475k. I wouldn''t imagine he''s saved that much before he joined us either. This might sound crazy money to us but I doubt he''s saved enough to set his family up for life or give his kids the best possible eduation just yet.
  21. @Kolin Kob Please explain why Grant Holt trying to get a significiant pay rise in Football is greed and not looking after his family? Lets say for example that he wants to send his kids to private school. Perhaps he believes that means giving his kids the best chance of success? Decent private schools can cost between 6k to 30k a year. If he sent his 3 girls to private education aged 4 to 18, at 6k a year, that''s still roughly 300k. Then University afterwards + postgraduade study, possibly 200k+. So 500k. He probably doesn''t have that saved already, and he might want to consider money for himself and his wife if he cant get a well paid job after football. Nobody is trying to tug at heart strings. Try and put yourself in Holt''s position. As a father he might be considering things like this. It isn''t greed, perhaps just trying to give his family the best opportunities in life.
  22. quote "jas the barclay king" "It based on these figures then.... IF (and i say If.. we dont know) Hol is on 15k a week and gets spanked 50% tax.. that means he is on 7.5k a week.... add 10% on top of that to the agent (who makes £750) then we could assume Holt was on 6750 a week. 33750 a month (more than quite a few posters get in a year! me included!) this works out to £405,000 a year after tax...nearly half a million quid..... why the F**k does Holt have ANY kind of complaint at all?! he should shut up and get on with it ungreatful sod! id do it for half that!" How is 405k "nearly" half a million quid? It''s roughly 20% short! Have you deliberately ignored my estimates of what he might save from that 405k? And considerrd that he might not have saved enough to support his family for life? Or are you just trying to glorify these figures to try and support your point? And why is Holt "ungrateful"? He doesn''t owe us anything! We wouldn''t be in the Premiership without him. He has a highly specialised skill for which he could be earning double what he is currently getting.
  23. It makes me laugh when people say Grant Holt earns 15k a week at Norwich or 4k-10k a week at Sheffield Weds/Notts Forest. Do people forget about the 50% tax and 10% of the wages often paid to the agent? Holt doesnt earn as much as you think. It''s possible he takes home 6.5-7.5k a week. If he was on 4k a week at Shef Weds then he probably cleared 2k a week. (I''d be shocked if Shef Weds or Forest paid him more than that as they were in league 1!) These figures are not enough to set you up for life, especially if you have 3 kids. People must be seriously deluded if they think Holt is minted. I can totally understand why he wants to maximise his earning potential at 31. You would probably do exactly the same if you were in his position so lay off him! Holt is not being greedy, he is being sensible. Why risk hoping to get a job as a pundit after he retires when it isn''t guarenteed? Hundreds of players retire every year but only a few become pundits. What will he do when his money runs out? Become a tyre fitter again at 45? Lets say he clears 7k a week, and saves 5.5k. That''s roughly 250k a year. Remember he''s only been on that contract for year. So as a guess he may have only saved 500k during his career so far, and that,is being generous! That''s not enough to set his family up for life. And signing on fees? Since when has Holt been sold for big money? lol Give him a break
