  1. Interesting article Baracouda, fingers crossed sportinglife are right again!
  2. Haha, true LDC ;) best ignore the facts then, he sucks :(
  3. Yes, sign him up! He''s been involved in 5 of our last 6 goals. I really think he could offer us something different next season even if he was only our 3rd or 4th choice striker. 1) Scored against Everton 2) Pretty much set up Holt''s winner vs Everton too (although I think Bassong got credited with the final touch) 3) Very nearly scored the goal vs Sunderland but Wes nicked it on the line. Gets credited with an assist. 4) Won us the free kick which led to Turner''s goal vs Swansea 5) Won us the free kick which led to Turner''s goal vs Arsenal
  4. 2-0 to Norwich All the doom mongers die of shock as a result (that''s more of a hope than a prediction though...)
  5. Would love QPR to thrash Stoke but I can see it being 1-1 or something, much like the QPR v Wigan match. The only thing counting in Stoke''s favour is that some of the QPR players may have resigned themselves to relegation and be thinking about their summer transfer to a new club. Fingers crossed QPR bother to turn up.
  6. For me it''s between Wigan and Stoke for the drop. I did the BBC predictor and had Stoke to go down on 36 points and Wigan and Villa to finish on 39. I think we''ll be safe by the West Brom game. Stoke have 3 away games to our 2, and the 2nd worst away form in the league. QPR is their easiest away game but even if they win that I still think they''re doomed. They also have to visit Sunderland who have found a bit extra under Di Canio, and a free scoring Southampton. I''m struggling to see a win In either of those games, especially as Stoke are struggling to find the back of the net. One of their home games is vs Spurs who are playing for Champions league qualification and should have Bale back. Admittedly their game is against us is winnable, but I can really see it being 0-0. I can see their results going something like this.... QPR 1 - 1 Stoke Stoke 0 - 0 Norwich Sunderland 2 - 1 Stoke Stoke 0 - 1 Spurs Southampton 2 - 0 Stoke As always, football is tough to predict so this could all be heresay, but Stoke''s current dire form, extra away game and home fixture vs Spurs swings it for me. The main thing is we must not lose at the Britania.

  8. Diamond formation anyone? A trip down memory lane? I would absolutely love this to happen as I think we could stuff Reading with this attacking intend, but probably far too adventurous for Hoots. Ruddy Martin Turner Bassong Whittaker Johnson Snodgrass Pilkington Hoolahan Becchio Holt
  9. "Saturday, we could and should have won considering we need the points." So we have a divine right to beat Swansea? They''re a really good attacking side who have just won the league cup. A draw was a fair result.
  10. quote user "Row D Seat 7" "@ Josh You want to be spared of negativity? Don''t watch a Chris Hughton team play football would be my advice to you. Cheers" I went on Saturday, and apart from the first 30 minutes I thought it was a good game, with good attacking football in the 2nd half. I certainly didn''t leave feeling I''d have a bunch of negativity inflicted upon me. Again, at Sunderland, I thought we played well!
  11. quote user Vanwink "I am not trying to bend anything, what I said was Pullis has options to change things. So one goal shy hoofball striker for another goal shy hoofball striker? I would actually agree with you on Owen, but Stoke don''t know how to play him properly. They only know how to play one way; hoofball. If they actually had a plan B, where they were could play a passing game and play Owen off the shoulder then I might actually be a bit concerned. But I''m not.
  12. quote Vanwink "So lets put it another way, would you prefer those three to Holt, Jacko and Bechhio?" Kamara doesn''t count then? I''d choose Kamara, Holt and Becchio over them 3 yeh, they all offer something a bit different.
  13. Vanwink, you''re bending the stats to suit your argument. Don''t forget Jones has 15 sub appearances, and Jerome also has 15 sub appearances. 2 of Jones'' 3 goals have come from starts, whereas all 3 of Jerome''s goals have come from the bench. So technically, Jones has 2 goals from 9 starts, and 1 goals from 15 sub appearances and Jerome has 0 goals from 5 starts, and 3 goals from 15 sub appearances Not such an impressive return from these strikers really.
  14. I pretty much agree with al of that. I''ve never come across such an ungrateful group of people in all my lifetime - most of our fans right now. It''s like some rich spoilt privileged child is throwing a massive tantrum because she''s had her horse taken away from her and had it replaced with a pony. She doesn''t realise just how good she has it. Just like Norwich are in the riches of the Premiership, we''ve lost Lambert but Hughton isn''t bad. Give Hughton time and he''ll grow and get better. I do seriously believe some of our "fans" would be more suited to supporting the binners down the road, then they would actually have real things to moan about ;)
  15. We did vs Swansea, pretty much the entire 2nd half, I was there!
  16. Vanwink, they may have those strikers but they have no idea how to play decent passing football to feed them properly, only hoofball. Us, on the other hand (as demonstrated vs Swansea) can actually play some decent attacking football. I''ll take our brand over Stoke''s any day.
  17. Quote Row D Seat 7 - "Colin is right. We could save Sunderland''s bacon. I don''t think we will win again this season." Please, somebody nuke Row D Seat 7 at the Reading match so we can be spared of such negativity in the future.
  18. quote user Joanna Grey "Vanwink - How can you tell all that from MOTD? And if Pulis is going to turn it around with his "options" why has he not used them already?" Agreed, what are these options that Stoke supposidly have? They play with a rigid formation and seem to have even less options in attack than us. They have always been reliant on their tight defence but even that currently isn''t working for them. Stoke look in more trouble than us.
  19. My predictions 1) We win 2-1 2) Swansea score first, which leads a doom monger in the Lower Barclay soiling himself in disgust - leading to a sorry state of spontaneous combustion through excess gas, causing a break in play and headlines on Sky Sports News. 3) Norwich hit back and score a goal in first half injury time - prompting predictable unsupportive comments on the Pinkun such as "ill deserved goal" and "just you wait, we''ll still lose". 4) Norwich pretty much hold possession for most of the 2nd half, and grab a winner in the 80th minute. 5) In the days the follow, the doom mongers feel lost and empty without having nothing negative to chew on, so they resort to calling the result "a fluke", and proceed to post topics of how "normal service will be resumed" vs Arsenal, and how it will be impossible for us to get the 1 point needed for survival, even against Reading. 6) Last but not least, Chris Hughton is blamed for the death of the grumpy fan who spontaneously combusted in the Lower Barclay, because his footballing tactics were "so poo it made the fan poo himself and die" and that he should have made a substitution to "wake the fan up so he had the opportunity to go to the toilet" 7) The doom mongers subsequently demand a petition be signed for the immediate arrest of Chris Hughton on charges of pre-meditated murder.
  20. My predictions 1) We will win vs Swansea 2) Row D and Highland Canary still won''t be happy 3) Row D will post a "we won''t win vs Reading" topic 4) We will beat Reading and stay up 5) Row D will post a "we won''t win a game all next season" topic 6) We win our first home game next season, with RVW scoring 7) Row D does some soul searching and finally admits he has the IQ of a baked potato
  21. quote user "JF" - We really should have gone that bit extra to get Rvw in january. Its less of a gamble to spend say 10 millio on a player then that will help keep us up than 8.5 million not knowing our Pl future is secure. How do you know we didn''t try as hard as possible to get RVW in Jan? If Sporting Lisbon say no and you can only have him next season then there is not a lot we could have done
  22. and congratulations for the latest sarcastic Pinkun reply. Perhaps people use the "look at how far we have come" quote for a reason. It''s true. We couldn''t have come much further in 3 years and it shows. Our squad is full of Championship quality players but people on here expect Premiership style performances from them week in week out and think we have a devine right to beat established Premiership sides. We stayed up last year on momentum and playing above our level. People need a sense of realism. And yes people can question why the money wasn''t spent in January but it probably was available and we couldn''t get anyone.
  23. Welcome to the Pinkun, the most negative place on earth. A place where posters suffer huge delusions of grandeur, have no sense of perspective and are generally a bunch of ungrateful, miserable sods. Wake up. On paper we have one of the worst squads in the league, it''s a miracle we are 2 points off 10th. I find it remarkable that, given that we were in League 1 only 3 years ago- you''re all throwing your toys out of your prams because we have narrowly lost against an established Premier League side, or only drew against other Premier league team. We have just signed Van Wolfswinkel. Yet you all still moan! Even if we did go down we''d still rip up the Championship as we have a quality board who wont sell our best players. Just relax and get behind the team. We will stay up.
  24. But what if Barnett suddenly becomes world class? And Jackson magically turns into the next Suarez? Hmm? What IF!? Then we''d be sorry... In all seriousness....I think we''ll be fine. No need to worry OP.
  25. Good first half but it took Hodgson a painfully slow 30 minutes to counter the oppositions tactical changes. Montenegro found a way to stop our fullbacks pushing forward so we became too narrow and toothless in attack, which allowed Montenegro to crawl all over us. Things improved a bit when Ashley Young came on for Cleverly, we actually had somebody who could attack their right back, instead of over relying on Milner beating their left back for crosses in the box (and lets face it, Milner isn''t exactly the quickest....). Hodgson needs to wake up and be more proactive, the points were there for the taking but Montenegro were allowed to play their game.
