If we get rid of Hughton before the end of the season we need to have an experienced manager in line ready to take his place straight away - when we got rid of Gunn, Lambert didn''t come straight away, the next 2 games were managed by Culverhouse.I can''t see how anyone can believe that bringing in an inexperienced youth academy manager would keep us up -
I see no point in changing manager now as we only have 5 games remaining this season. I would get rid of Hughton this summer, and bring in an experienced manager who''s more attacking to replace him - I think the whole reason why we''ve scored so few goals this season is because Hughton is too defensive -
Personally I think that Becchio is no good for us and that he will leave this summer regardless of whether we stay up or go down. If we get relegated but still manage to keep Hooper or RvW I do believe that they will score quite a few goals in the Championship next season -
A manager who is a more attacking manager, as I believe one of the reasons that we have scored so few goals this season is because Hughton is a more defensive manager. I do still have some belief in him but I reckon he will go this summer -
Snodgrass was out with a slight injury, but I really like him as a player. Yes, he hasn''t done as well as he did last season but he has scored a few goals for us this season and is very good with set-pieces -
I can''t understand why loads of people are still being so critical of Hughton. Yes, we have had a very poor run this season and are relegation threatened but we have picked up a point against a side that beat us 7-0 earlier in the season and have scored 115 goals in all competitions - thought it would be a 5-0 defeat.West Ham have done very well recently, but I reckon a win could be a massive help in are fight for safety because of some of the other fixtures:Sunderland - Man City (A)Fulham - Liverpool (H) and at Old Trafford todayWest Brom - Chelsea (H) -
I think in the JPT v Southampton -
I really can''t understand why everyone is going crazy about Hughton and our performance tonight. Personally I''d prefer to get knocked out tonight and I''ll tell you why. In my opinion only the "big four" and similar teams are strong enough to do well in both the cup and the league.A good cup run means more games which means more fatigue and chances for injuries. I just want to point out that in our League 1 season Leeds were ahead of us in the table and got further in the cup than us, including a win at Old Trafford however we got ahead of them and won the league. Birmingham won the cup that season and Wigan last season. I would rate their team strength then as similar to our current strength. However, winning the cup also won them relegation -
Be afraid of the big bad wolf, the big bad wolf, the big bad wolfBe afraid of the big bad wolf, the big bad wolf, the big bad wolf''Coz he scores so many goals! However, he''s foreign and almost certainly won''t know the story that we are linking him to though the majority of his his team mates should and could explain it, but he still might think we are linking him to Suarez at first and being sarcastic in the final line so if we did use this song, I reckon we should leave it until he has scored a quite a few goals and he can clearly see that we mean he''s a danger for the opposition. If he is a danger this might frustrate the opposition as well -
Playing a team of cowboys, cant believe our multi million pounds stars.....We going for relegation.Hughton OUT!
Just because we lost 1-0 to a team in America there are some things you have to bear in mind:1) Just about all the players got substituted2) It was only by one goal and Bunn was the keeper when we conceded - what a relief we''ve still got Ruddy3) We weren''t playing all our stars - I think Tettey got 80 mins4) As Snodgrass has said we don''t want to be winning 5 or 6-0 all the time as if it was too easy we wouldn''t be getting any experience -
I read the other day that Hooper wants to play in the Premiership to increase the chances of an England call-up. If that is the case, then I reckon we have a better chance of winning him than QPR -
You terrified me when I first read the title. This also something ridiculous to post, as I can''t see why we would discuss this now -
I do believe that we could become a Norwich side of the early nineties but until we become a team that always finishes in the top half I don''t want us looking into winning the cups. Last season Wigan won the FA cup but got relegated as well, the same also happened to Birmingham when they won the League cup a few years back. Leeds'' good FA cup run gave us the title of League 1, and I seem to recall a few years ago Arsenal were doing brilliantly in the cups, but the Gunners were looking like they were going to be the Gonners when it came to the league -
I don''t want a decent cup run until we look like a side that could finish in the top five as I fear we could pay the price for it - look what happened to Wigan last season -
QPR also have higher wages -
I''d have Martin as he had it several time last season. If not, Bassong or Howson as he had it whilst at Leeds -
Yes he would be at a bigger club, but he won''t be playing which would probably damage his form. He might still get called up as Chelsea no.2. Next season though Courtois will be back so Ruddy will probably never get called up again because he would almost be the Chelsea no.3 -
Well if he does go to Chelsea you could hardly call him a player because he won''t be playing -
In my opinion the whole reason why Sky don''t video many of our games is simply because we all know the majority of football fans are glory hunters i.e support one of the big teams however far they live from them. As a result of this more people would watch the game if it was one of the big teams. If Ruddy stays I do believe we could become a more of a top-half side though -
If Chelsea win a trophy can''t see how Ruddy would get a medal as he would have almost certainly been a spectator for the whole of the tournament. I can''t see how being a Chelsea bench warmer would better his England chances as the managers of international teams say you have to play regularly. Yes he would be at a bigger club, but he wouldn''t be playing for the club so he clearly wouldn''t be on form. -
If Ruddy does go I can''t see him going until we find a replacement for Steer, as Rudd is going to be away on a season long loan at Preston next season. -
Chelsea offered Butland a contract in January but he turned it down because he wanted to play regularly. Butland''s got a much better chance of playing for Stoke than he has for Chelsea -

GK: Ruddy, Bunn, AN Other.

RB: R Martin, Whittaker.
LB: Garrido, AN Other
CB: Barnett, Turner, Bassong, R Bennett.
RW: Snodgrass, E Bennett.
LW: Pilkington, Redmond, Surman.
CM: Fox, Butterfield, Howson, Hoolahan, Johnson, Tettey.
ST: Holt, Becchio, RVW, AN OtherThis is how I see it PC. Red highlighted are the strongest first 11, with the green highlighted the most likely subs. Of course it depends who else comes in. I can see a decent left back coming in to push Garrido and two big signings, one attacking midfield to usurp Hoolahan or Howson, and another decent striker to mix things up.
For me, this is the best squad we have ever had. And it''s going to improve over the next month.
There are only 2 of your players that I disagree PC - I would rate Martin above Whittaker simply because Whittaker played hardly any games last season due injury and so has less experience. Martin also scored a some goals. At the start of last season I did rate Tettey above Howson. Tettey got injured and Howson was put in to replace him. I thought Howson was rubbish at first but he''s been very impressive and I can''trate Tettey above Howson now
