Well we need to preserve our league form don''t we?
-
Rudd was also on a season-long loan at Preston last season so he probably knows a bit about how they play. If we have him between the sticks for the game, I reckon we''ll keep a clean sheet
-
We''ll probably win but I''d prefer defeat. If we go on a good cup run I reckon we''ll finish in the bottom half. We''ve seen that a good cup run doesn''t boost smaller teams'' league performance - Wigan won both the cup and relegation, Leeds won at Old Trafford but dropping to 2nd as well A cup run means more games which means more chances for injuries, fatigue and suspensions
-
The Grabban and Jerome partnership clearly isn''t working. Hooper was my hero on Saturday, coming on as a sub and saving us a point. As a result I want to see Hooper and Jerome start v Reading When Hooper was playing for Celtic I reckon he was playing round about this level, and I believe he can still get a good number of goals for us this season.

I want to see Adams try a Hooper/Jerome strike partnership on Saturday. The Jerome/Grabban, Jerome/Lafferty and Grabban/Lafferty strike partnerships don''t seem to work and I have big belief Hooper can do well this season. He did brilliant for Celtic and when he was playing for them I reckon he was playing round about this level.

Looking good at the top!

We can''t expect the team deny the opponents 3pts every time we''re behind -

It''s certainly looking good at the top, but I think we are very lucky that the team has the confidence to make these comebacks. We have 20 league goals so far this season, one being an own goal, and only 4 of them are from the first half. We need to improve our first half performances (keeping our current second half performances as well) as we can''t expect the team to change the scoreline round every time we''re behind. What is good though is that the goals are coming from a variety of players, as you can''t rely on 1 player to score the goals: Grabban - 6 Jerome - 5 Johnson and Tettey - 2 Hoolahan, Murphy, Olsson and Turner - 1 These statistics refer to our league goals -
Adams done nothing wrong tonight

When I saw the squad list last night I was damn well pleased that so many first team players had been left out. I don''t want us to go on a good cup run, as it can be a huge risk with the league. I just want automatic promotion this season, not a good cup run. In recent years Leeds, Birmingham and Wigan have all shown us what a good cup run can cause to smaller teams. It gives more chances for injuries, fatigue and suspensions. It also provides a distraction for the players - Look at Leeds in our League One season for example: we had a poor cup run whilst they had a good one including a win at Old Trafford, but our league form rose and their''s dropped -
I''ve always believed that Adams can do it - our last 4 games of the season were against very strong teams and you can''t blame him for our relegation. You can''t make predictions on how a team''s going to do after their first game of the season either. We lost 1-0 on the opening day, then won 3-0, 3-1 and 1-0. I still believe it''s too early to make predictions on how we''ll do, but if we keep our form I think it could be a good season for us

Dare we dream of another four or five one?
HazzaJet replied to yellowasanything's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I would love it if we could thrash them, just like we did last time but with a clean sheet. Instead of it being 9-2 to us on aggregate this season, I would prefer it to be 10-0. -
I feel he deserves it. I was convinced he would get at least a 2 game suspension. Though I don''t think Suarez deserved a 4 month ban for his 3rd bite, I think he should have been given a life ban
-
Lafferty''s clearly a class player in the Championship, the only question is whether he could cut it in the Premiership - just like we wondered about Holt. Personally I reckon Lafferty is better than Elmander, considering that Elmander was a completely crap player in the Prem and Laffers is class in the Championship
-
Back in Iwan Roberts'' days we just used to chant Iwan, Iwan, Iwan to him Lafferty - Laffers, Laffers etc Fer - Leroy, Leroy (Ferry, Ferry, would sound like Furry, and might not go down well) I think there should also be some hand clapping between each word Really we need a song for each player though as it might cause other players to think they''re not class If any of these players score we could sing: Wes - Wesley Hoolahan, Wesley Hoolahan, we must all hail Wesley Hoolahan Grabban - Lewis grabs us goals, Lewis grabs us goals, fantastic forward, super striker, Lewis grabs us goals Fer - Leroy''s levelled, Leroy''s levelled, or change the the levelled to gives us the lead or greatened our lead Lafferty - Same as above, just change the Leroy for Lafferty Hooper - Gary the great, Gary the great or All hail Hooper Tettey - Tet has found the net, Tet has found the net or Tettey''s tucked it away
-
Whittaker can play RB or LB - when he arrived he played LB at first. Just looked at the player profiles on the NCFC website and Martin is actually taller than R Bennett - M 6''1", B 5''11"

Promotion to the Premiership is never easy. In the Premiership the teams tend to finish around the same places each season. The Championship is more competitive, you don''t usually see relegated teams going straight back up. Leicester and Burnley got promoted last season but they weren''t relegated from the Premiership just a few years ago

We must only sell Snodgrass if he rejects a new contract as his current contract expires next summer. Snodgrass is a key player for us. Ruddy is happy to stay, a key player and we mustn''t sell him for any price - if he goes to Arsenal I reckon he would wreck his career
-
I know that Adams has only just started first team management, but we can''t believe that he is going to turn out just like Gunn. When Adams started the squad performance rose, and we just have to wait and see who stays and how we do next season
-
I support Norwich through Norfolk ancestors and I believe my Dad introduced me to football in 1995, just after we''d been relegated from the top flight. I''ve been teased many times about supporting them but I have no desire to be a glory hunter, as we all know that things can change - it took Arsenal 9 years to win another trophy, and I have plenty of friends who support Man Utd, one who hasn''t really followed them at all this season. There''s also no saying that we will never get back to the strength of the Norwich side that was top of the league New Year''s Day 1993
-
If Pilks is happy to stay then I think we should keep him - he was injured for quite a while this season. However Wes is aging and unhappy that he isn''t getting many games, so I reckon it would be best to sell him this summer
-
We will have to offer Snodgrass a new contract this summer as he only has 1 year left. If he rejects it we will have to sell him as next summer he will be able to leave on a free. Personally I think he will want to go, but it would be great if he stays.
-
Number 1 choice is more than likely still in a job.
HazzaJet replied to Dave's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
They say that no one has been offered the job yet so they are probably still trying to decide who would be the option. Malky has now won the Championship as both a player and a manager now, but he is a defensive manager just like Hughton was so they probably want someone who plays a more attacking style. -
We will have to sell players who are out of contract next summer and don''t accept new contracts like I said about Snodgrass, and players who want to go as they won''t want to play for us next season. We must not sell key players who are happy to stay like Ruddy for any price.
-
Some players will leave - Tettey is out of contract and wants to leave for more international football
-
Snodgrass is out of contract next summer and so we will have to sell him if he doesn''t accept a new contract this summer, as we can''t let him go for nothing. It''s the same reason Arsenal had to sell Fabregas and van Persie - they were out of contract the next summer, turned down a new contract, and so if they weren''t sold they would go for nothing.
