  1. Although my Dad reckons Pukki will go this summer as he thinks he will want to spend the remainder of his career with a big club I think Pukki will stay. I can’t see us selling him for any less than £30m and I can’t think who would want to buy him - ok he got off to a flying start but he hasn’t exactly been great this season has he? If we did lose him I think we will still have Drmic who although is clearly a bit more injury prone than Teemu, I do believe could turn out to be a good replacement. I reckon we will also probably sign someone else and send Idah out on a season-long loan. There was also an opinion article by Robin Sainty last month “Why Norwich City won’t abandon policy on transfer window spending” that says in it about how if Villa go down they would have huge financial problems, City would only have to sell players on their own terms as there are key players on long term contracts with relegation clauses in them that would slash wages.
  2. Hughton was the most boring manager we’ve had so far in my lifetime. I know he got us to 11th in his first season in charge but despite keeping Brighton up last season he still got the sack as the fans were fed up with his boring style of play. Although I do believe we are going to end this season with our worst ever premier league points tally Farke has had very little money to spend on players when Hughton had £7.5m to spend on players like Ricky van Wolfswinkel. Just look at what Farke has achieved when the strength of the squad on his arrival was rather poor. I my opinion only call for Hughton as manager if you don’t follow the games live or watch highlights
  3. I think you’re being very optimistic believing we will beat the Reds. Ok, you can never write it off - I originally thought the victory over Man City was going to be a 5-0 defeat but personally I think we’ll get thrashed when you look at how well they’ve done so far this season, having still only dropped 2 points.
  4. Totally agree. Although I think we are going to end this season with our worst ever premier league points tally, you have to bear in mind that he had very little money to spend on new signings. What you have to look at is how poor the squad was when he arrived and how great a value a lot of the signings have turned out to be, especially when some of them have been from the youth academy. Although lots of people are putting Hughton above Farke, in my opinion Hughton is one of the most boring ever managers. Despite keeping Brighton up last season he still got the sack as the fans were fed up with his boring defensive style of play. I know Hughton got us to 11th in his first season in charge, but if you’re going to him credit you have to give Farke credit because of what Farke has achieved out of the little money he has had to spend and the youth academy - lets not forget Hughton also got us relegated when he had something like £7.5m to spend on players like van Wolfswinkel
  5. Although most people think that Ipswich should come first I don’t hate them as much as I did when I was younger, mainly because I now have some friends who support them - 10 years ago I did refer to them as the scum, but don’t anymore My teams would be: 1) Leeds Anyone remember that fan “spainboy” who was on here and constantly wound us up during our League 1 season? I think fans of all other teams hate them 2) Aston Villa They’ve spent over £150m so in my opinion should be challenging for Europe, not just scraping survival. Also took Paul Lambert off us 3) Ipswich Although most people think they should come first I don’t hate them as much as I did when I was younger, mainly because I now have some friends who support them - 10 years ago I did refer to them as the scum, but don’t anymore. I still dislike them though and always want us to be the “Pride of East Anglia” - love this long unbeaten run we are on with them.
  6. In my opinion that fan’s idea that they will thrash us 5-0 is utterly ridiculous. You never know, they might as we have the worst away record but they have not scored in their last 3 games. Had Pukki’s goal been given at Carrow Road I think we may have gone on to win as there would have been less pressure on us in the 2nd half. Spurs will also be without their key player Harry Kane. Would love it if the score line was the other way round as it would be great for our confidence, goal difference and a hugely embarrassing for the fan who posted it on there in the first place
  7. I’d try to keep all our best players for as long as possible to boost our chances of going straight back up next season. Lewis is still very young and I reckon he may wreck his career if he moves to another Premiership club as I can’t see him getting regular first team football anywhere else because he’s fallen out of favour with us.
  8. I originally I was completely against selling any first team regulars this season but I’m 100% convinced whatever happens for the rest of this season we will find ourselves in the 2nd tier next season. I would only accept an offer of £50+ though as we are rather stricken for CBs at the moment and so it might not be a wise idea selling but if we got £50m it might turn out to be quite useful for a club our size. If we do accept an offer though we take it at our own peril as we are very limited on CB availability, and Godfrey accepts the contract at his own peril as he is still young and may wreck his career - I just can’t see him getting much game time at a big Premier League team at the moment.
  9. Webber has already stated that we don’t need to sell in January. Just like others have said there is always plenty of speculation over players when transfer windows are being approached. I also doubt we would sell to a relegation rival and can’t see how any top flight club would want him at the moment. I know he set up Srbeny yesterday but he made an absolutely horrendous mistake against Watford and started this season with no PL experience. Buendia was decent last season but I think that lack of experience has caused his form to drop. Next summer maybe as he will have a bit of experience.
  10. At the start of the season several of my mates who all support other teams said they thought we will survival and still do. I’ve had strong doubts since the start (I always do when we win promotion) but what we must remember is that any game is winnable, we are still only 4 points adrift of safety, 8 points adrift of mid-table, and 10 points adrift of the Europa League. Though I think that if we are going to survive, we have to start making a comeback very soon. To be honest I don’t think we will survive as I can’t see us making a comeback but hopefully we will.
  11. Webber has already stated that we have no need to sell in the January transfer window and personally I can’t see them letting him go as I don’t think we would stand a chance of survival because Drmic is our only cover for him (I don’t think Idah is ready for this level yet) and he is also out injured till then. If we go down at the end of the season he might hand in a transfer request but I think at the moment he is happy to be at the club. We’ll wait and see.
  12. I know Zimmerman is a key player but he has only just come back from injury and just like they said in the injury news, I think it is optimistic to think that he will start, although they said he is able to. Personally as he’s only just recovered from a serious injury I feel he should start on the bench as I fear that there is a very high chance of him picking up another serious injury if he gets put in the lineup. Definitely think he should start next weekend though.
  13. In my opinion he needs to go out on loan. The only problem with that is we have severe defensive injuries at the moment. I’d give him the full 90 mins in our fa cup fixture and might bring him in if we go straight back down and find ourselves pushed for defenders next summer
  14. I have to say I like the ideas about switching to a 3-5-2 formation - I think playing 2 strikers might end the goal drought and I’d also love to see Pukki and Drmic get more game time together. I don’t think I’d put Famewo in the starting XI though as he doesn’t have any first team experience.
  15. I think it’s vital we win due to our current form. Victory would also extend the gap between us and Watford to 5 points and put us above Southampton temporarily who are at home to Everton on Saturday (hoping for a draw there). After the international break we go to Everton and if we managed to beat both the Hornets and the Toffees, I reckon we might find ourselves out of the bottom 3. However, I’ll admit that I’m a very pessimistic guy and I think we probably won’t get any more than a point out of those 2 games
  16. As far as I can remember I think my first game was to see them play Charlton at The Valley in the 90s. I believe it ended as a 4-4 draw
  17. Totally agree with you there - in my opinion you can’t judge a team until midway through the season unless they have had a really good/poor run. Say we beat Newcastle and pick up at least a point out of our games against Chelsea, West Ham, and Man City. What could we possibly look like after the following 4 games against Burnley, Palace, Villa, and Bournemouth?
  18. Webber has already stated that we are not under any pressure to sell players this summer, and to sell one of our crown jewels when we've only just come up from the Championship I think would be crazy. We also haven't even found cover for Aarons yet so I can't see us selling him when we would have no one to fill his position
  19. Cantwell's only 21 and I think he should stay. Like BigFish has said I reckon he's going to get hardly any game time this season due to Onel, Emi and the arrival of Roberts. Yes he did play a big part of the autumn, but this was only his first season playing for the first team and so I can't see him ready for the top flight. I think sending him out on loan to a championship club would at least keep his current skills going, and if we go straight back down we would at least have some cover for the loss of players.
  20. I think that Srbeny should stay as he was only 25 last month. I feel that he is still unproven at Championship level though, simply because unfortunately he got very little game time last season due to the form of Pukki. As a result of this I think we need to: Sign another striker, whether it be on loan or a permanent deal Play Srbeny as 1st choice for the cup Send youngster Adam Idah out on loan - look what those loan spells for Aarons, Godfrey, and Maddison did to them in recent years
  21. If Manure put an offer in for Webber only accept it if they give us £200 million - we need him. Surely they won’t go for him yet though as we’ve only just come up from the Championship
  22. Ipswich do have a bigger stadium and better history than us overall, but: We've been having far bigger attendances than them They haven't beaten us since 2009, whilst in the 2010-11 season we did the double over them with a 9-2 score on aggregate Over the past decade I feel we have been the better side - that time when they were a strong team was back in the 1970s - 80s What's Brazil going to say if next season we make Europe, Ipswich get relegated to League Two and then the National League the season after that?
  23. They’ve got nothing to play for but I’ve got a horrible feeling that Villa will beat us and Sheffield Utd will beat Stoke who also have nothing to play for. If this does happen then we’ll miss out on the title on goal difference, which will be very sad. Hopefully they will rest some players ready for the playoffs though - McGinn is on the brink of a 3 match ban, Abraham is set to come back from injury against us but is a key player and they’ll probably want to make sure he’s available for the playoffs
  24. Maddison is our star player at the moment and I’m certain he will win POTS. However, I feel that he plays a massive part in the team and if we lost him the turnout could be catastrophic. I would only sell him for £40m+ and a 50% sell on clause Although he’s doing really well for us, I also think too many young star players go to play in higher leagues then ruin their career by finding they get hardly any game time. Therefore I think Maddison should stay with us for now but if he wants to go up a level he should only go to a smaller Premiership team, not Spurs or Liverpool
