Aarons will probably go at the end of this season as he is out of contract next summer and although I’m not ruling it out, I do have major doubts on promotion this season. As a result of this I think we should let Mumba stay until the end of the season to get more experience as we may need him as a replacement next season

He might not get a work permit as he’s only managed in Norway. His 35 games in Europe might help though
-
Thanks for this info. Have been having problems for ages

The sacking of any manager is always madness for the other managers in the league, as that team might make a comeback. If any Championship team should criticised for manager sacking I think it should be Watford, with their managerial merry go round

Bellamy yes, it wasn't Muscat who crocked Eadie.
He got a red card for a lunge on Eadie though, but Eadie didn't go off injured.
Didn’t he? - Thought Roberts said he gave him the stamp on the back for injuring both Eadie and Bellamy

4/5 on Bet Victor now. Loads of people placing money on him getting a reunion with Webber
-
Would have been on my list to succeed Worthington, Grant, Roeder, or Gunn but I think it’s a bit late now
-
So you’d be happy with the likes Dyche, Bruce and co who play even more boring football than Smith?!

Seriously injured him and he never really seemed to recover
-
Definitely not. He’s hated by all the fans here for what he did to Eadie and Bellamy

I got Gerrard! Hope that isn’t the outcome though

Martin and Gerrard: No, insufficient experience in my opinion
Robins: Maybe, it’s just I’m not sure about his recordHasenhuttl: Yes, PL experienceKnutsen: Yes, it’s just from what I’ve heard it sounds like we won’t be able to sign him because of Brexit, and he’s also rejected an offer from us in the past
Wilder: Got Sheffield United promoted with us in 2019, and then nearly got them into Europe the following season (but then sent them back down the following season). That sounded quite good in my opinion, but from what I’ve seen from others on here it sounds like he’s not a good optionDyche, Hughton, Bruce, Allardyce, Pulis: Loads of fans were moaning about Smith’s boring style of play. If you were fed up with Smith’s style of play, I can’t see how you would want any of those in (I don’t)Don’t know about the others yet -
Totally agree. Not enough experience in my opinion
-
Would pick Wilder over W**ker as he got Sheff Utd promoted and then nearly to Europe in their first season back in the PL (although sent them back down the following season, similar to Hughton’s reign with us)
-
No. When he arrived we were in the same sort of state that we were back in the Grant-Roeder-Gunn era, which Webber sorted out. I know he’s just sent us back to how we were at the beginning, but as he managed to sort it out first time round I would give him a chance to see if he can do it again. If things don’t seem to be any better in about 18 months time, I think it will be time for him to depart

Are we not? - I hope that’s true. To be honest I don’t know for certain, it’s just I’ve seen a few posts that have made me think we are. If we are I don’t think we heavily are
-
I can’t see really any issues with payroll because as far as I’m aware we have relegation clauses in all the contracts (although it’s rumoured that Pukki’s contract extension allows him to retain his PL wages). However, we only have one parachute payment left which will also be less than our one this season. As a result of this, if we fail to get promoted this season I can only see us having to part company with our best players as we are in debt, which I think will turn us into the type of side we were after our 2005 and 2016 relegations (nothing more than a mid-table finish)
-
I’m not sure who to go for. Have had a look at the stats of some of the suggestions and here’s my verdict on some of them:
Martin - No. Too inexperienced for me
Robins - Preferably not. Has several achievements just not at a high enough level for me
Knutsen - Wouldn’t say no. Has won the Norwegian first tier twice (although I’m not sure how that compares to the English Championship) and has a bit of experience in the continental cups
Ranieri - Yes. Years of experience, at PL and other major first tier level, and in the continental cups
Hasenhüttl - Yes. PL experience
From what I’ve said about these managers I’m not expecting us to turn out in comparison to their history if we signed one of them (i.e. I don’t think signing Ranieri will turn us into an established PL side) - Lambert didn’t have much experience and got us back to back promotions, and PL survival. It’s just when I pick an alternative manager I go by their career records -
Before yesterday’s game I was was still happy for him to stay. However, I have to admit I’m starting to lose my faith in him now. If Sheff Utd win their game in hand we will be 9pts adrift of automatic promotion, and when you look at the table below us you can see if we continue this poor form for much longer we’ll almost certainly fall out of playoffs all together. If we fail to get promoted this season I can only us turning into the side that we were after our 2005 and 2016 relegations (nothing more than a boring mid-table side). Having said that I’m not desperate for him to go yet as we’re still in the top 6, but I’m happy for him to go now
-
Fantastic! Their GD is also only 1 lower than ours, so a big boost for us
-
At the moment, Smith in. I think it’s only worth sacking a manager in the first half of the season if it looks like you’re going to struggle for survival but I think it looks utterly ridiculous when you’re inside the top 6. If late January/mid February we’re some way out the top 6 I might change my mind
-
3 points is 3 points but I have to say I would have much preferred a bigger win - it’s always really important to improve your GD when you’re in a promotion/relegation battle (plus it’s always great to see your team win by more goals)
-
I feel really sorry for Kane - it’s never easy taking a second penalty in a game when you’ve converted the first

There’s no saying we won’t get automatic promotion, but considering we’re currently 15 pts adrift of it with a much weaker GD realistically I think the best we can hope for is a playoff spot
