  1. True if he was perfect he would be playing for someone else, but what annoys me is that people slagged off Doc for the goals and said we need a new partner for Shax but when I watch it it seems like Doc is caught out because Shax/Drury don''t deal with it in the first place and Doc is in two minds as to wether to cover for a hot or for a cross. Seemed a bit unfair on Doc to me to single him out for the cause of the goals.
  2. I just watched the goals from West Ham via youtube and it looks to me that Shacks was the one at fault not Doc. This is now a concern for me since Shax is now captain it''ll be harder to drop him to play Doc + Dion or Doc + New CD.Watch the video and I think it''s quite clear that the 2nd goal at least is made from a pass that go between Shax and Drury and by the time Doc gets involved it''s already too late as Shax/Drury have already been passed.
  3. When built they said that the Jarold was designed and build so that it could have a 2nd tier, the foundations are already there, you would need to raise the roof and probbably put in a few more pillars. The City stand is also ready for expansion and will be the ''first'' one done I think because the planning permission only lasts so long and the permission for that stand runs out first. I think if I read it correctly the extension would cause the Carrow road to be closed.
  4. Personally I would not like us to buy a new #1 keeper, with Joe Lewis in the wings and ready to be the #1 from next year - I have heard from people who have been to the reserve he is really good I don''t see the point spending much money on Ashdown.I''d rather stick with Galacher who is the same height as Ashdown (although thinner) and use the money to buy a quality midfielder. As the moment the backs are pretty much sorted, Doc and Shax have the potential to be reliable - both have MoM awards this season I think, Drury is also quality, Colin is improving - alot of that is to do with Croft being in front of him. Midfield is the issue, Croft/Hux are dead certs, I would start Hughes and have him play a Holt type role in that he runs around like a headless chicken putting pressure on the other side, when his knackered sub him for Robbo and tell him to do the same thing. Holty was a major reason we won the league because he ran so much it allowed others to be more attacking. Start with Etuhu as well as an attacking midfield. Sell Safri and look for a new playmaker, Safs get injured to much for my liking - he hasn''t done well this year. McVeigh and L-J  can go as well.Picking up a new decent CM playmaker will be pricey so we''d need to save on spending on keepers, with Lewis in goal from next year and Gallacher on the bench we''d be sorted. Bringing in another keeper now puts Lewis back down the list and we need him to start getting the games in.Starting line upGalColin Doc Shax DruryCroft Robbo Jarvis Etuhu HuxEarnieSubs:Ashdown - well he''s hereFlem - with him we cover RB and CB and if Colin goes LB we get cover thereDion - cover for CB/CF + is a steady hand at the endEagle - WLY has blown itSafs - CM cover
  5. Strange sizes, I''d have thought that most people have a 17" LCD in which case the size for that is best at 1280x1024. Can we have some at that size please?
  6. I think we need to get another keeper in, big Joe is a good backup but I was thinking,i) He''s going to play all the reserve matchesii) He''s going to play all the youth matchesiii) He''s going to be on the bench for all the 1st team match (assuming Gallacher doesn''t get injured)Isn''t this abit of a big work load for Joe? Seems to me that we need to pick up another squad keeper for the 1st team backup/reserve matches and have Big Joe at the ready if one of them breaks down. Last season we had 4 keepers in Green/Ward/Gallacher/Lewis and at one point 2 of the 4 were out at the same time - doesn''t take a genius to figure out we need 3.
  7. Since we''re going to be in the Champ next year I don;t see any point buying another center back to replace Doc cos in all honesty Doc is good enough if he plays along side someone like Shacks and any other CB we can buy will cost quite abit if they are that much more quality than Doc. A RB may not be needed cos if MJ gets fit in the summer I''ve heard he''d pretty handy, He could do with cover for the LB position thou now Charlie is certain not to be here next year. I hope Greeno does go, he ''deserves'' promotion to the prem team, he''s been a faithful servant to the club and we could do with the dosh. Forwards: chuck Thorne out, get another person who can cover Mackenzie, WLY can cover for Earnie. Mid: I think Hughes is here to stay, we need a Holty type person who can be here there and everywhere to break up attacks and support ours, Hughes and Saffs in the center, Robbo/Dicko as cover. Hux Left, WLY right. Get in a proper RM and start to use the youngerster more and don''t do so many loans. Oh Zipper I didn''t have you down as a SoM fan, Eldrich
  8. While I may not agree with all thats happening in the board room I do have to say that Doncaster is one of the few that''s coming out of all this looking good. I can not think of another club where the Chief not only publishes his phone number and email address but actually answers it. In his column the other day we talked about how he went to the demo to see the people there - how many others would have done that? 99% of CEO''s would have just been in the bar swilling the beer back. Nope while I''m not 100% impressed with the policies I have to say I am very impressed with than himself. I wish a few others on this board would carry themselves the way Doncaster done, I Sent 1 email to Doncaster and had one very reply which made me believe he does care and wasn;t just brushing me off. 9. Since Doc is well on the way to being player of the season and Rehman has just had two nightmares you want to play Shax and Rehman togeather in the center and drop Doc who we actually have on a contract for more than 3 months??? It doesn''t seem to make much sense to me. Doc/Shax is a better combination to try than Shax/Rehman, althought I have no problems with a back four of Rehman  Doc Shax Drury with Flem on the bench.
  10. Cos at the start of the season Shax was all over the place and then went and got injured for 3 months??? Thats a pretty good reason for having two loan center backs one after the other.
  11. Vince, In future try something like using an M-Audio Mobile Pre (analogue to digital usb interface) into a notebook computer running something like audacity. i) Its simple ii) the mobile pre runs of the USB power so you only need to plug in the laptop iii) Using a laptop with audacity you can see the program receiving the signal so you know instantly if there''s a problem This is how we do mobile recording when we go out and about to record meetings out our way. You can take a line right off a mixers tape-outs (or even aux''s if need be) + the mobile pre has built-in preamps so you can plug a balanced dynamics mic straight in. Cheers Eldrich
  12. Worthy has a point, when I play if everyone groans when I get the ball it makes me nervous and then mess up the pass. I reackon if 26,000 groan it''ll be a bit worse than that won''t it. A bit of support for the poor chap may do him the world of good.
  13. At one of the meet the fans events Worthy said that there is a one year option on the McVeigh contract and they were going to try to activate it. I guess thou it depends on if WLY wants to sign his side.
  14. I pretty much agree with whats being proposed here but I would drop Flem and because Shax is already on the bench and if we lose a defender brings Shax who can cover CB and LB means even if we lose RB Rehman can go there with Shax CB we don''t have a need for Flem on the bench. I''d then put Hughes in as RB where he has played alot for Reading and done well. Rehman and Doc are doing pretty well togeather as CBs so I wouldn''t want to split them up even if it means Shax staying on the bench. With the subs we have Shax can cover for the defence, Etuhu can cover if we lose the CM, WLY can cover if we lose JJ2 or Hux, Thorne up front if we McK or Earnie go off. If we have a midfield crisis with Safs and Robbo both going off we can push Hughes up to Mid bring on Etuhu and Shax My team:                    Green Hughes   Doc Rehman Drury       Safs                Robinson JJ2                                Hux       McKenzie        Earnshaw Subs: Gallacher, Shax, Etuhu, WLY, Thorne

  16. Please not Windows Media, for some us without access to Windows computers it makes life really hard that the club website uses it. I now have to borrow a Mac at the moment cos if this. With Windows Media you''re limited to Windows and Macs, at least with mp3 you can use nearly anything to listen to broadcasts. Eldrich
  17. Brennan for Hucks rather than bringing on WLY makes some sense cos Hucks has just been taken off from a bad tackle and WLYis the lightest smallest bloke on the pitch, if that guys smashed into WLY in the same way he did Hucks then WLY would have been a strecher job. Worthy made some god subs this time, I''m not convinced by the Hughes hamstring thing, from what the radio said Hughes obviously thought he was okay to stay on and didn''t signal to come off. A very brave decision by Worthy to pull the captian for the creative WLY. If Hucks can''t recover in 3 days from a match, which I can understand cos I know I''m knackered for a day or two after I play and I don''t get the lumps he does. Then we should look at playing him for only 60mins or so but getting him really worked up for those 60mins. 1st half, Hughes, Safri, Robinson, Hux 2nd half Hughes, Etuhu, Robinson, WLY get Saffs and Hux fired up for 45-60mins and replace them with Ettie and WLY and our midfield should then be shored up quite abit, More contraversally I''d pull Ashton after 60mins as well and put on Hendo, I think Thornes experience and vision will really work well with Ash and Hendo, Thorne is quality at setting up stuff and will be at scoring and I think he can restore Ash''s confidence and also bring Hendo on to be a huge future asset. 18. Hi, I am in excile in Taipei and so don''t know if the Munby interview has been put in the pink-un paper version yet or not. a) Does anyonme know if he''s been in the paper version and if so what did he say b) Will it ever be posted on the web-site so that us exciles can read it? Cheers Eldrich
  19. I like the new boards, the layout seems to be much cleaner and easier to follow, however I have also having that annoying problem of whenever I move from page to page it always goes to the bottom of the page. OS: Mac OS X 10.4.3 Browser: Firefox 1.0.6 Also I think the post button on the reply page is too small, I just scrolled up and down 3 times to find it. Compared to those cr*p smileys (which you can get rid of in my book) that button is not very obvious. Other than that fantastic job: BTW what does all this run on? I seem to remember the last site ran on Win 2000 server and whatever the MS server is, have you thought about upgrading to a Linux/Apache system? Cheers, Eldrich
  20. Where''s JJ? Not on the pitch and not on the bench? What has happened to the chap? I hope worthy makes some changes at 1/2 time, pull Charlton for Marney, McVeigh for Jarvis
  21. I can''t believe this, last year we got hit hard by injuries - Helveg, Francis, Holt, Bentley + quite a few more and so we had a bad run of games - then when those guys got fit we start to win matches again. Who is injured at the moment: Safri - main playmaker Marney - set piece chap Drury - a great left back Hughes - not 100% Jarret - coming back from injury not 100% Mckenzie - was a headless chicket at the start of season Thorn - proven goal scorer at this grade Shackell - poor start of season but has the quality I mean for crying out loud, bash Worthy all you like for not having picked up enough players over the summer but its also simple maths: Good players are often more expense - we can have team that is expensive relative to other team but injuries then hit us hard or we can have cheaper and loads of player but then won''t have any chance of promotion. Automatic promotion is blown for this year, when the above guys get better we can push for a play off position. We are not going to get relegated unless we lose Ashton for a long period of injury. Yes Worthy is tatically poor this year, but he has also pulled off a couple of big masterstrokes - getting Davenport in was a big plus, having the guts to drop Flem/Shax for the Ipswich game and put Hux on the bench shows he at least has the guys. If Hux and Ashton had burried their penalties we would be standing alot prettier than we would now. Even McVeigh has been given a pretty fair crack at the whip. Eldrich
  22. Ok I guess you got a invite to the players lounge for the next home game? Or a Hucks shirt? XXL16 - I admire you the way you travel from Hong Kong and get a ticket, the last few times I have come back from Taipei it has been impossible to get tickets for Carrow Road matches - how do you do it? Eldrich PS If I pop over to Hong Kong on a trip and have time can I join in with one of you matches there?
  23. No Shackell in the reserves last night, not on the bench for the 1st team - too old for the youth.... Where is Shax? Either i) Totally dropped ala McVeigh/Mulryn last year for being in Worthy''s bad books ii) Injured iii) Something else, I don''t get it, I mean obviously he is not 1st choice CN at the moment, with Flem on the bench (not sure I agree 100% on that) why on earth wasn''t Shax getting match fitness with the reserves? Eldrich - A canary who wears his shirt with Pride in Taipei
  24. The match sounds excellent, I think Worthy is finally getting it, I mean look at this: The defence looks shakey and he gets a 21 yrs old loan + drops the captain, I bet at the moment Shax is getting a tad worried that he''ll not be playing for a while. The Doc who has been blasted for so long here finally gets a decent partner and does well including scoring the winning goal. Worthy manages to get a loan striker in who although is not doing so well is at least scaring defences into making mistakes so that others can score. At the moment we have 3 attackers injured (Leon, Thorn, Aston) so its a pretty good thing worthy managed to get another in. Finally he plays McVeigh and Hux togeather and they scare the other team, WLY and Hux, both can take on defenders and run at them - about time we had them both. Question thou: what was the formation last night I asuume it was something like Green Colin Doc Davenport Drury Safri Marney Hughs WLY Ashton Hux But it sounded like Hux was on the left of the diamond, so where did Hughs play? I kinda hop that when Davenport leaves in Dec its only for a few weeks and Shax returns to the side. I think Flem on the bench is a wise move cos he can cover RB and CB
  25. Check Neil Doncaster''s colunm (can be found linked off columns on the main pinkun website). His latest writing was devoted to the transfer window and what the club can do now. Since his the CEO of the club I trust his knowledge of the loan rules more than some others on this board! Eldrich
