I don''t know if there is a matrix for a club owner''s hurt feelings so although I can empathise with a manager leaving (like Walker to Everton) it has to come down to other factors. I am surprised Lambert was unpopular with your players as they would clearly walk over hot coals for him here. You should try Roeder! He clearly brought you some good players in and got off to a great start to the season but perhaps he didn''t really feel wanted in the way he does here. All these people have massive egos and Lambert is getting his well fed here. Infact, he regularly talks about how fans can turn so doesn''t seem to count his chickens on that score. There is a lot of positivity between our fans but Cowling is doing his best to damage the relationship. In the end his mistake is that he is making the whole issue look personal and how can any tribunal rule on financial compensation for his hurt feelings? Thanks for coming out and saying it as you see it.
Lambert did bring in some quality players like Tierney,Magnus and Fox but did bring in alot of c*ap like Beevers,Maybury and probably the worst signing was Joel Thomas from Hamilton who i think has scored about 4 goals in his entire career and he cost £125,000. The main problem with Lambert was his treatment over players he didn''t like. John White who has been at Colchester all his life and is a fans favourite,Phil Ifil who played a few games for the Spurs first team and wasn''t cheap when we got him and Medy Elito who was playing for England under 18''s and was tipped to have a great future were the main ones to suffer. Not only did Lambert not even give them all a squad number but he also totaly humiliated them by forcing them to train on thier own or with the youth team. I might be worng here but didn''t Lambert say the same sort of thing to Docherty when he took over at Norwich?
Yes he did, and look at the reaction that he got. Both Hoolahan and Doc obviously weren''t putting the required effort in and were rightly dropped. Maybe the situation was similar with those players that you mentioned? I''m all for dropping players when they don''t put in the effort but forcing them to train with the youth team is going a bit far, especially a player like Elito who is an 18 year old kid who is told has a great future then suddenly is told to train with the youth team, you can only imagine what it done to his confidence and he hasn''t been the same since.. 3.

Only joking,i think if we get the compensation we deserve then most Col U fans will be happy and then we can hopefully all move on
Given that 7 of you will be happy at this point, how will you placate the other 5 ?
The other 5 are the gobby little chavs in baseball caps driving their customized ford escorts with stick on plastic accessories who won''t be happy with whatever we get....
 4.
In the censorship deletions I didn''t get to hear from the number of Col U fans who like to come on this message board and debate the Lambert issue what they would consider to be a proper and fail outcome. Please tell us: 1) To what extent you support Cowling''s stance. 2) What level of punishment i.e points deduction or fine you would feel vindicated and justified should City receive. 3) What your punishment FOR MY CLUB would be were you able to impose one. You seem am amiable lot on the whole but please come off the fence.
Firstly i support Robbie Cowling in everything he is doing and i think you will find nearly all 12 of us Col U fans do. What everyone needs to reaiize is Lambert seriously fu*ked up our season just two weeks into it by walking out,he spent heavily over the summer on players and we started the season with two wins before he decided to jump ship to go to a so called bigger club. Don''t get me wrong  i never liked Lambert and i know alot of the other 12 fans didn''t mainly because of the way he treats players and i think Aidy will be successful in his time with us but you have to wonder how we would be doing if Lambert had stayed or at least done the right thing in walking out at a time which would have given us time to find a new manager who would at least been able to get his own players in. I think you will find all this is what has upset Robbie the most because the money Lambert spend was Robbies OWN money so surely you can all understand why he is seriously p**sed off with the situation. Robbie Cowling was also right in not allowing Norwich fans more tickets for the game at our place,no he shouldn''t have made the comments what he did and just kept it at "no you ain''t having anymore tickets" instead of saying that stuff  about how he would much rather see an empty seat than one with a Norwich fan in and it seriously backfired but i''m still puzzled as to why some Norwich fans still think they had the right to have more tickets as you were given 20% of the ground anyway. As for punishment Norwich should get a heavy fine for obviously breaking league rules and the compensation we receive should be Lamberts and the other twos contracts paid up in full. Points deducted will never happen and it wouldn''t be fair on the people that matter and that is the fans,i don''t agree with points deducted for anything as the fans always suffer and they ain''t the ones who done wrong... As for what i would impose,i would kick you out the league and force Lambert to return to Scotland to manage a team like Annan Athletic and never allow him to return to England.......Only joking,i think if we get the compensation we deserve then most Col U fans will be happy and then we can hopefully all move on
 5. Thats two threads on this board about our game last night,am i right in thinking some of you have a bit of a soft spot for us......
 6. Great result for your boys last night, teams win tiltles by not playing that well but still winning games. I think the title is yours now,Leeds are not playing well in the league and have obviously got thier minds elsewhere. Yes they might have two games in hand but i beleive they have still got to visit Carrow road so if you beat them and you keep up the form you are on then i can only see one team winning the title.
 7.

We have a young chap Cureton you could have for a couple of hundred grand. [:)]
How about we have him on a free transfer?
Done!!! I''ll go and get the car now, reckon if I put the foot down we''ll be in Colchester by 2:30 at the latest. Will he be able to bring his bumper book of Sudoku for match days still he''s asking?
Hahahahaha!! If you can''t take him by car I''m prepared to carry him there on my back. [:)]
If you drive down here to drop him off can you take Joel Thomas back with you and ask Lambert why he spent so much money on him......
 8.

Highly confident thankyou. Its you that has Charlton and Colchester on your tails not us. We are 3 points clear AND a game in hand. I think anyone in this league would rather swap league places with us rather than you and you know it.   Get over it and accept you are the second best team in this division
On current forn Norwich are the best team in the division, yes they may be due to have a sticky patch coming up by i beleive and hope they take the title. As for Charlton and us,Charlton will still battle for second spot but we will now fade away.... Also from a neutral fans point of view at this level i would take Holt any day over Beckford...
Interesting points. Do you not think / hope that all that has happened recently may galvanise your chairman to be more determined for success and maybe splash a bit of his cash?
Maybe. I think we need strengthening in a number of areas to really make a push for promotion, mainly up front as we don''t score enough goals...... 11. God i really hope you lot overtake Leeds, arrogant to**ers......
 12. Must say well done Norwich,I personaly didn''t go to the game due to work commitments but it does sound like you murdered us when you got the ball down and played. Good luck for the rest of the season and lets all now hope you overtake Leeds and win the league....
 13.
There is only one man to blame... only one man who has stoked the fires... "Just call me Robbie..." Mr Cowling thou art a douche and are to blame if things get out of hand between the fans. Lets hope for three points to city to shut him up.
Erm try the Norwich fans who got tickets in the home end....

As for the result of this match, nothing is decided whoever wins. We win we will be 3 points behind with two games in hand, you win and we will be 9 points behind with two games in hand both which should be winnable fixtures. Still a long long way to go this season whatever the outcome of tomorrows game....
games in hand are not points on the board..
Points in the bag are better than games in hand but if we don''t win them games in hand then we don''t deserve to be where we are...

And I''m sure you will be back to the handful of fans you normally get for your next home game. When we play Brentford on a cold wet night in february they will all be ok at home in the warm watching Manure on T.V...

 19. I personaly didn''t like Lambert mainly for his treatment of certain players. To be fair when he come to Colchester he did get the results that kept us up and even got us close to the play offs towards the end of the season so there is no arguing that he is a decent manager who knows what he is doing. He brought in some good players in Tierney,Magnus,Fox,Hackney and Vincent but also paid money on players who just ain''t good enough at this level. What my main problem with him was the treatment of players like Matt Heath,Matt Lockwood,John White who is one of the fans favourites at Colchester and Medi Elito who up untill Lambert took over was tipped to be a player who would play at a much higher level. Not only did Lambert tell these players they will never play for the club again he wouldn''t even let them train with the seniors but totaly humiliated them by making them train with the youth team. When Aidy took over he gave these players the chance they deserved and they are all now back in the first team again. What i think has upset everyone connected with Colchester is the manner in which Lambert left, spending more money on players in the summer then jumping ship at the first opportunity. As for Aidy i like ALL colchester fans i speak to are more than happy with the job he is doing, what people need to remember is that he took over a team a month into the season, had no pre season with them and has kept us in a play off position all season with a team that was not his. As for his style of play it is getting results so i will never complain, yes he likes to get the ball forward quickly but if we are winning i would prefer that to anything else.
 20.

Stevo, I hope you and your friend have a great match, I can relate to your description of the Man Utd fans attitudes, I have to say I have never seen your fans in that light.
Cheers buddy. Once we''re out the ground, then the p*ss-taking will start one way or another....obviously I hope it''s me that gets to dish it out this time round but we''ll go for some beers and have a decent night out in town afterwards. In that Man Utd game I remember being told to sit down and shut up by a group of Utd fans in the row behind me when I was getting excited over a City attack. Unbelievable. They then started singing "Oh Manchester...is wonderful" at which point I commented that it had failed to get the olympics. They went nuts and the stewards finally removed them. That''s the key point I think. We''re all football fans - just with different allegiances. Normally we can have rational discussions but during the emotion of a match, you don''t want some idiot in your face rubbing it in.
Very true and well summed up i think :) I bet your mate gave you some stick at the start of the season and you would have given him some after the 5-1 ''well never play you again'' match. Footy banter is great, right place and time though
As i''ve said before Norwich is my second team and i went with my brother, all his Arsenal supporting mates and my girlfreind at the time who was also a gooner to Highbury in about 1994 i think. They all knew i followed Norwich and Arsenal won 5-1...I got a fair bit of stick but it was all a laugh..

Am I the only one who is sick and tired of tw.ats who are fans of other clubs - particularly binners - coming on here and acting like tiresome, loathsome boors (and bores too), speaking as dogmatically as they like? I should imagine the Leicester guys will all be subject to football banning orders and the fuzz will DEFINITELY be on the lookout for them! Most Norwich fans who are going in the home stands sound like they will just sit there and watch the game which is fine but unfortuantly there is one or two on here who are actually going in the home end because they want trouble..
