  1. Most teams from Sunday league to The Premiership have black and mixed race players, Spurs especially. I don't think the guy was being racist but angry at the Arsenal player milking it in front of the home crowd. Stupid but probably no worse than the hatred the others around him showed Motto if you have to throw something take a pair of your wife's knickers
  2. Spurs fan banned for attending football matches for 4 years after throwing a Banana skin at Arsenal player and fined £500 plus costs. Lot of hatred in the faces of many more. Just shows how times have changed in football over the years.
  3. Does that mean he will be HOMELESS for Christmas Time for a whipround
  4. Won't have to see his miserable face on TV anymore on MOTD
  5. By the time he gets fit for 90 minutes of Championship football he'll be in line for his Bus Pass
  6. Better in our January sales and the few pounds we get spent a bit more wisely
  7. The teams who have watched NCFC last few games at CR realise that you do not have to have any skill to get a result, just pump high balls into the penalty area and we get into a real panic. Both fullbacks who I think are fantastic going forward but struggle with defending, especially Lewis This could be our downfall and needs to be addressed as Millwall and Bolton are hardly promotion material yet we were really fortunate to pick up 6 points when it could easily been nil pois
  8. True Grit why don't you just **** off, you're about as funny as Johnathan Ross and Russel Brand another couple of wasters
  9. Perhaps he is Charlie Chaplin fan
  10. Nice article in EEN by David Freezer regarding 1950 FA Cup game Pity he did not get the team names correct Lewis Bill correct name Bill Lewis big mistake considering Bill spent his last years working for the EEN Also Church was always known as Johnny Church Interesting also Ron Ashman centre forward who went on to become Captain and our regular left back Still a good article
  11. Perhaps we can get some kind hearted collectors with their buckets out before tomorrows game and present them with a cheque at half-time.
  12. Yes We're getting off subject, Ginger Sadd was my Grannies cousin and remember my Grandad taking me to the Corn Hall ( I believe Jarrolds took part of the site when it was demolished in the 60's) to see him fight. Not sure if he used to fight at the Cattle Market fair where pro fighters would take on anyone from the crowd. Those were the days PS Another piece of useless information The River Cockey ran under the old Corn Hall and ran into The River Wensum
  13. Remember Tommy Johnstone with a nose that looked like he had either got wrong with his wife or Ginger Sadd also a center forward named Oscar Hold who was my Dad's double and by all accounts and worth a pint when my Dad went out drinking
  14. Lappin Could be wrong but don't think we played Portsmouth before as they were in the First Division and we were in Division 3 South and normally finished really low in the that league and remember having to apply for re-election due to finishing in bottom2 Pos Team Pld W D L F A W D L F A F A GA GD Pts 1 Portsmouth 42 12 7 2 44 15 10 2 9 30 23 74 38 1.947 +36 53 2 Wolverhampton Wanderers 42 11 8 2 47 21 9 5 7 29 28 76 49 1.551 +27 53 3 Sunderland 42 14 6 1 50 23 7 4 10 33 39 83 62 1.339 +21 52 4 Manchester United 42 11 5 5 42 20 7 9 5 27 24 69 44 1.568 +25 50 5 Newcastle United 42 14 4 3 49 23 5 8 8 28 32 77 55 1.400 +22 50 6 Arsenal 42 12 4 5 48 24 7 7 7 31 31 79 55 1.436 +24 49 7 Blackpool 42 10 8 3 29 14 7 7 7 17 21 46 35 1.314 +11 49 8 Liverpool 42 10 7 4 37 23 7 7 7 27 31 64 54 1.185 +10 48 9 Middlesbrough 42 14 2 5 37 18 6 5 10 22 30 59 48 1.229 +11 47 10 Burnley 42 9 7 5 23 17 7 6 8 17 23 40 40 1.000 ±0 45 11 Derby County 42 11 5 5 46 26 6 5 10 23 35 69 61 1.131 +8 44 12 Aston Villa 42 10 7 4 31 19 5 5 11 30 42 61 61 1.000 ±0 42 13 Chelsea 42 7 7 7 31 30 5 9 7 27 35 58 65 0.892 –7 40 14 West Bromwich Albion 42 9 7 5 28 16 5 5 11 19 37 47 53 0.887 –6 40 15 Huddersfield Town 42 11 4 6 34 22 3 5 13 18 51 52 73 0.712 –21 37 16 Bolton Wanderers 42 10 5 6 34 22 0 9 12 11 37 45 59 0.763 –14 34 17 Fulham 42 8 6 7 24 19 2 8 11 17 35 41 54 0.759 –13 34 18 Everton 42 6 8 7 24 20 4 6 11 18 46 42 66 0.636 –24 34 19 Stoke City 42 10 4 7 27 28 1 8 12 18 47 45 75 0.600 –30 34 20 Charlton Athletic 42 7 5 9 33 35 6 1 14 20 30 53 65 0.815 –12 32 21 Manchester City 42 7 8 6 27 24 1 5 15 9 44 36 68 0.529 –32 29 22 Birmingham City 42 6 8 7 19 24 1 6 14 12 43 31 67 0.463 –36 28 P = Matches played; W = Matches won; D = Matches drawn; L = Matches lost; F = Goals for; A = Goals against; GA = Goal average; GD = Goal difference; Pts = Points Key1949–1950 Third Division South[edit] Football League Third Division South Season 1949–50 Champions Notts County (2nd title) Failed re-election none Matches played 462 Goals scored 1,336 (2.89 per match) Top goalscorer Tommy Lawton (Notts County), 31 [3] ← 1948–49 1950–51 → Pos Team Pld W D L F A W D L F A F A GA GD Pts 1 Notts County 42 17 3 1 60 12 8 5 8 35 38 95 50 1.900 +45 58 2 Northampton Town 42 12 6 3 43 21 8 5 8 29 29 72 50 1.440 +22 51 3 Southend United 42 15 4 2 43 15 4 9 8 23 33 66 48 1.375 +18 51 4 Nottingham Forest 42 13 0 8 37 15 7 9 5 30 24 67 39 1.718 +28 49 5 Torquay United 42 13 6 2 40 23 6 4 11 26 40 66 63 1.048 +3 48 6 Watford 42 10 6 5 26 13 6 7 8 19 22 45 35 1.286 +10 45 7 Crystal Palace 42 12 5 4 35 21 3 9 9 20 33 55 54 1.019 +1 44 8 Brighton & Hove Albion 42 9 8 4 32 24 7 4 10 25 45 57 69 0.826 –12 44 9 Bristol Rovers 42 12 5 4 34 18 7 0 14 17 33 51 51 1.000 ±0 43 10 Reading 42 15 2 4 48 21 2 6 13 22 43 70 64 1.094 +6 42 11 Norwich City 42 11 5 5 44 21 5 5 11 21 42 65 63 1.032 +2 42 12 Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic 42 11 6 4 38 19 5 4 12 19 37 57 56 1.018 +1 42 13 Port Vale 42 12 6 3 33 13 3 5 13 14 29 47 42 1.119 +5 41 14 Swindon Town 42 9 7 5 41 30 6 4 11 18 32 59 62 0.952 –3 41 15 Bristol City 42 12 4 5 38 19 3 6 12 22 42 60 61 0.984 –1 40 16 Exeter City 42 9 8 4 37 27 5 3 13 26 48 63 75 0.840 –12 39 17 Ipswich Town 42 9 6 6 36 36 3 5 13 21 50 57 86 0.663 –29 35 18 Leyton Orient 42 10 6 5 33 30 2 5 14 20 55 53 85 0.624 –32 35 19 Walsall 42 8 8 5 37 25 1 8 12 24 37 61 62 0.984 –1 34 20 Aldershot 42 10 5 6 30 16 3 3 15 18 44 48 60 0.800 –12 34 21 Newport County 42 11 5 5 50 34 2 3 16 17 64 67 98 0.684 –31 34 22 Millwall 42 11 1 9 39 29 3 3 15 16 34 55 63 0.873 –8 32 P = Matches played; W = Matches won; D = Matches drawn; L = Matches lost; F = Goals for; A = Goals against; GA = Goal average; GD = Goal difference; Pts = Points Key Division Champions, promoted New club in the league (none) Re-elected Failed re-election (none)
  15. Useless where??? In the Kitchen, Bedroom, Garden
  16. Did we watch Naismith before signing him and the millions he has cost us
  17. Anyone who wanted to use the toilets was no problem, ,every 20 to 30 yards there was an isle where the steward stood to make sure they were clear. Plus though King Street and area had a number of pubs don't think they were the meeting point for fans as is today
  18. Remember it was an afternoon game but thought replays were played on a Wednesdays . Probably wrong though
