1.
Southampton 2 Norwich 0
Ever the optimist, eh, Highland?  [:)]
 2.
we have a 100% PL defeat record each time we have score more than 1,  so why bother ;-)   It will happen and like busses we will probably get a hat trick hero and 4 goals all at once,  cant say it feels like we will at the mo, with set pieces and crossing our best chance of a goal (so few of our goals come through the middle, only tetteys shot/holt rebound springing to mind over the last months PL goals)
No rhyme, reason or logic to this but I think we''re going to hammer them.   Once the forward play of the team "clicks" we are going to score some goals.  It might as well be against Southampton.   4 -1 to City.
 3. We have to be realistic - and that means we have to recognise that no-one is going to enjoy playing against us because of our record.   That gives us an advantage imo that will make these games close.   I think we can carry on in the same vane with home wins and away draws.  Chelsea at home may be the exception, but I agree with the op that 9-10 points is a realistic possibility - only if we maintain the performances as we have been - and hopefully score one or two more in the process.
 4. Each match that goes by with a win or a draw is a good thing, regardless of how it is achieved.  As long as we carry on as we have been, some of the chances we create will start to go in more.   We know the players out there have goals in them.    It will be the icing on the cake of Hughton''s regime - improve the defence and make us hard to beat, then get the goal scorers going again.   Why not start at Southampton.  The pressure will be on them to win - but we''ve beaten Arse, MU, Tott, Stoke, drawn away at Everton, Reading, AV.   Everything is in our favour - as long as we turn up and play like we did in the second half at Everton.
 5. I got shouted down for saying this earlier in the season, but what some are saying on this thread backs me up.    Hughton has been right to get the players to accept their individual abilities for what they are - we are not a team full of Matas and Messi''s and never will be.   We accept our level then get maximum performance from that.  We don''t build them up, get them playing ''above'' themselves. We get them to accept their level, then get the best out of them. Its not negative to accept your level - its about being realistic.   Only by doing that will you ensure the players stay on the type of game they have to play to compete at this level.   The first half at Everton was an example of what happens if you let the opposition play.   That shot of Baines running freely with the ball and Snodders and Wes just standing watching was actually totally to the point.     Right from the QPR game - which we never looked like losing, I had a sense that this is what Hughton does.   He gets the players grounded and working from a realistic perspective.   Quite a different approach to Lambert, I suspect.  Once you know and accept your level, you can then work to improve that level on a sound and sustainable foundation.  The problems I come up against at work is where people have an inflated idea of their abilities and then can''t live up to their perceived level.   I am sure footballers are the same and a manager of Hughton''s type is one who will keep the players grounded - and then get the best out of them as a result.
 6. Imo you have to trust the players you''ve got.   It doesn''t matter if we buy one two or no players in January.   If we do, all well and good, but if we don''t, the players we have will do the business. Players can improve.   From what I have seen this season we are getting results without actually playing that well.   Good performances as a team, but there are several players who can up their individual contributions.    Holt and Snodgrass are two that for me aren''t quite on it - I''m not knocking them - I just think they can play better.     Johnson can improve his passing.  Howson is one that I look forward to seeing improve - he has the ability - but his chances are limited at the moment and he seemed to struggle early in the season.    In short its about trusting the players - and Hughton - that they will carry on the development and the progress that has been made - and the performances and results will continue to improve.
 7. It''s simple. Expanding the stadium is the kind of thing that people on the board like to think/talk about because its something to talk about.    Fans like to talk about it - for the same reason.  In both cases they think  it would be "bigging up" the club.  But,  this is not necessarily the case. Actually, at its worst, its nothing short of an ego trip. We get an almost full stadium every week.   But despite that, casual supporters can get tickets.  I have had no problem getting casual tickets, sometimes even on the day of the match.  This does not suggest there is a great demand out there.   If we want to make Carrow Rd a better stadium, the hotel situation needs to be sorted.   Buy the hotel, rebuild it with full seating in the corner, either keeping it as a hotel, or converting the remaining space into flats or office space, or even retail.   You would make the stadium a 30,000 stadium, improve the atmosphere and generate income from the hotel space.   That way you increase the capacity,  you don''t get vastly into debt financing a whole new stand, and generate possible income from the hotel or whatever space is left after the conversion.   Just my simplistic solution, but sometimes the simple answer is the best.   Buying the hotel may not be possible, but on the face of it - converting that corner of the stadium  would be enough addition of seats to supply any likely demand.    If you question my logic, think about the Spurs match and the empty seats.
 8. Morison was also hampered by the fact that he was kicking with his "wrong" foot, hence the balance problem of having to stand on his "wrong" foot to do it.    Not a criticism, I like to see players using both feet - Holt''s left foot shot for instance - but it didn''t help Moro in that situation where the nudge and the wet conditions - and  trying to deliver a pass with his left foot -  all contributed to his fall.   But still definitely a free kick.
 9. Didn''t they name Norway after Norwich?  After all, the French call Norway - "Norvege" - close enough to "Norwich" to be more than just a co-incidence. [:)]    Maybe the Frenchies know something we don''t....................
 10.

From brief highlights on MOTD it looked as if Baines given too much room to operate Snoddy seemingly not tracking back enough, Elliott Bennet may hae been better option in this role.  Was this an illusion or did we give too much room?
MOTD highlights showed Snoddy & Wes standing 10 yards off Baines at times with no attempt whatsoever to close the space he loves to romp into. We rode our luck by doing that. Mind you, which team had the higher energy levels in the last 15 mins? Maybe that''s why we nicked the leveller!
Interesting to note, maybe, is that the two you mentioned that seemed to be standing off - Snodgrass and Hoolahan - were the ones subbed - and then we scored.................
 11.

So we''re going to beat West Brom away ?    LOL
Why lol?
... because WBA are third in the Prem, playing great football and scoring lots of goals in the process.  We''ll be lucky to scrape a draw IMO so to predict a win for us when we manage less than a goal a game seems a tad unrealistic.
We are also letting goals in less than we are scoring them.    The evidence is that we are going to be mean defensively whoever the opposition.    That''s why I asked why the lol.    0-0 can easily turn into a 0-1 even away from home.   It''s not such a laughable idea really - is it? [:^)]
 12.
ldc - I think you will find the only reason snoddy didnt take it was he had already been subbed... but agree - garrido has the little extra quality and it shows in these deliveries
Oops, my bad.  It does beg the question though - if Snodgrass had been on the pitch would he have insisted on taking that free kick?   The decisons on these kind of things are quite important.  I guess its about the pecking order - or he who shouts loudest?   I get the feeling that Snodgrass is the type who wants to take every free kick going, but he has to be more consistent if he is to do that.  The Pilks free kick was good.   But Garrido is becoming more influential - which is good to see.
 13. Garrido is beginning to become more prominent and will surely take more free kicks - he has a terrific shot in him too from free kicks.   We know Pilks can be excellent too.   Snodgrass so far hasn''t been good enough from set pieces imo.  I suspect the only reason he didn''t take the free kick at the end of the match yesterday is because it was so far back and we needed everyone forwards.  It was interesting because Garrido had to cross the pitch to take the free kick - but that''s two matches in a row he has provided the quality for the goal.   A terrific player - and becoming more influential.
 14.
So we''re going to beat West Brom away ?    LOL
Why lol?
 15.
From brief highlights on MOTD it looked as if Baines given too much room to operate Snoddy seemingly not tracking back enough, Elliott Bennet may hae been better option in this role.  Was this an illusion or did we give too much room?
I thought the same.   Maybe we improved in the second half because this was addressed at half time.  Baines plays like that every match, from what I''ve seen - terrific player.
 16. Like I was saying, about the officials..........................
 17. Please stop repeating these offensive tweets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 18. OK I wasn''t there, but really, the officials looked out of control the more the match went on.   Linesmen looked too flag happy, referee didn''t have control and the players started to take advantage of him (not in the biblical sense [:S] ).  Comedy of errors - and that free kick  -  but wtf,  we scored  - and that point won really counts! [:)]
 19. Realistically - only one solution - if the relationship is serious.    Go to a game with the kids at portaloo rd and enjoy it  - for the kids sake -  it will show your lady friend you care about them and will show their dad you are serious and not messing.   In Liverpool, the Liverpool/Everton rivalries cross family boundaries - there are some things more important than football.   You can still be a Norwich supporter - nothing will change that.   If it''s not serious, just try and convert them at every opportunity - wind everyone up - and be prepared to move on - because winding up her family will be bound to wind her up too.
 20. Twinkle-toes Holt.   The type of goal they didn''t think he could score.
 21.
He deserved a pen against Spurs and should have got an assist against Man U. I still rate him, but he''s obviously not starting because Holty is first-choice and le capitaine. Moro is a good replacement for Holt, but I''d like someone who offers something different and more of a natural goalscorer. I think Graham would fit the mould, but I also think a stronger/faster option is a good idea (someone like Benteke for Villa but he cost a fair whack). I''d be happy with either I think.
To be hyper-critical, he delayed his pass to Howson too long and forced Howson wider than necessary.  He didn''t look confident and made Howson''s job harder than it needed to be.  (Howson should still have done better though!).
 22. This could be the making of Mark Clattenburg.    Should make him stronger.   There was never a case to answer - and Chelsea should be investigated as to how these accusations got further than than they should have.  The management should have checked it out properly in the first place.
 23. Aging players are only worth getting if they can offer more than just being footballers.   Dion Dublin springs to mind.   A good influence off the pitch as well as class personified on the pitch.   Don''t think Keane falls into that category.
 24.
If you think you have a case you are somewhat deluded dear, this thread is about Simon not you, I`m not sure how else to phrase it to assist your comprehension.
LMAO
