The first goal showed the best and worst of Farkeball. Near suicidal passing from the back was followed by a great counter and goal.

Loved that half. Our pressing game is almost unplayable at times. Not surprised the goal came as it did, running Stoke ragged.

It was a yellow as he made no attempt to get into a low tackling position. It became a red when the off field official found no mitigation. My concern is three reds in a row for dangerous high tackles is a serious technical issue for England.

Living in Bristol I have tried to teach my kids that to like something you don't have to dislike something else. I avoid love and hate. Rugby fans seem more likely to struggle with this concept. Maybe it's an insecurity issue about the relative size of the sports.

Look, I get that anyone describing themselves as big anything means that they are probably insecure, small or fat but this is not inaccurate.
